The gender wage gap is really a child care penalty

For the first time ever, college-educated women appear on track to outnumber college-educated men in the workforce, a milestone in what has been a decades-long trend. However, those women still trail their male peers in compensation.

It's more than a financial issue.

According to much of the research done about Norway, it was surprising to find that they are the 3rd best nation in terms of equality in pay. Looking at some of the statistics for this category on average for every $1 a woman earns their male counterpart earns $1.27. Another interesting thing to note is that part time workers receive benefits. This is because in Norway they base benefits on hours worked and not whether or not a person works full time.
