Sergeant Josef František DFM* (7 October 1914, Otaslavice - 8 October 1940) was a Czech fighter pilot and World War II flying ace who flew for the air forces of Czechoslovakia, Poland and the United Kingdom. He is famous as being the highest scoring Allied ace in the Battle of Britain. He shot down 17 German aircraft and 1 probable, of which 9 were Bf 109s.
