Ge ware was also manufactured in the Song dynasty (960 AD–1279 AD) in China, and it is seen as the direct successor of Guan ware. The same intentional crackling in Guan Ware can be seen on this vase. While the exact location of the Ge kiln has not been found, some pieces were carried on through the Yuan dynasty and into the Qing, which allowed them to reach us in the modern day.
