This sweet baby quilt finishes approximately 42" by 52" and makes a wonderful gift for that special baby. If you aren't a quilter but have a friend who is, this pattern plus some great fabric would make a terrific gift! This quilt consists of simple squares, some of print fabric and the remainder a plain background fabric with appliqué. The appliqués are applied with fusible web and stitched around with the blanket stitch, either by hand or machine. This pattern includes all the letters of the alphabet allowing you to create a baby quilt uniquely your own. If your machine does not have this stitch, a zigzag stitch also works beautifully. You may also use hand appliqué if you prefer. I chose black and white prints for piecing with bright fabrics used for the letters. This quilt is also cute made in pastels or crayola brights. This quilt pattern is fine for beginners but would be fun for those with more advanced skills.
