I started making these placemats for my 3 year old granddaughter to learn how to set the table. She enjoys being able to match the pieces to the outline independently and loves matching the colored dishes and utensils to the coordinating placemat. She also has learned to fold the reusable napkin which is a great lesson for helping around the house as well as helping the environment. The outlines can help kids have a safe place to set their utensils and cups down during the meal too. Each placemat is made with 100% cotton and quilted with batting between the two layers. They are machine washable and reversible. One side has the outline of a napkin, fork, spoon, knife, plate and cup. The reverse side is solid gray. The binding is machine sewn and goes around the edge of both sides.
