Burning non idealistic improv from Philadelphia USA.
BLEKINGEGADE the raw Danish Street gang that committed high level robberies to send money and weapons to support Palestine in its defense for freedom. This album will bring you to those bleak streets of 1970’s Denmark. Then feel the violence. And then you are brought into a feeling of community. This is within the music, the players, as well as the story behind BLEKINGEGADE. This is FIRE MUSIC. Saxes blister bend and stay hard to the bone but with deep seeded melodies from these seasoned players. The drums and Double Bass battle and ease with the Saxes until rapidly coming together to play a journey you had no clue was about to come. The Low end is thick and the Saxes are angular yet smoothly executed.

Urgency, groove, tradition, anger, it's all there in this wonderful bass sound. The pieces reveal different aspects each time I listen to them. Feedback, overtones, shifting patterns, lyrical moments, make this a very contemporary and explorative album, while tone and phrasing at times reaffirm the power of the instrument's tradition. livkon

Anarchism as a program. Dissonance and melody in a lively conversation, where no one has the main say, but yet everyone communicates what is important. Although mostly acoustic instruments are represented here, it's a lot of heavy and raw music. The power of the collective. jiristepan
