Happy to Finish the 100 Day Project of 2021

I am definitely missing a few here, but I am happy that I can see most of them!

One of my favorites. I am a Mistyfuser!

Love this one too. I have a Blue Willow collection

How important to embrace all of your communities!

Favorite tools for drawing and painting!

Me and my growing garden!

This and That

The100dayproject continues with Day 66. Even though I have been vaccinated, I still wear a mask in public

Beautiful gorgeous and vibrant flowers in the garden

Tools that I use for drawing!

Found this while cleaning out some stuff in my studio. 1998 when I chaired this event to raise money for our school where our daughter attended. A friend had these posters made of each artful tourist area along Route 66. I threw our committee photo on there.

Oh my...we were so cool and fun! We are all still friends!

I have arthritis throughout my entire body and some days it is just hard to move. CBD/THC help with salves and gummies for sleep

Lunch out with a friend in Old Town Orange. Yes, we are having cocktails at lunch and they were whiskey based!

The joy of experimenting with new things, like a used tea bag!

A Double Delight rose in our garden

Last week I perched myself at a backyard table to draw and paint and it was just lovely!

Reflections

The 100 Day Project is a huge commitment and honestly it has been hard to keep going, but...

When I see all of my watercolor paintings in a format like this, it gives me inspiration and courage to forge through

The Objects of my Affection

We took our first trip after we were vaccinated and safe!

Napa and San Francisco to see and hug our kids and grands

Went to my favorite coffee spot in Orange. This is where I had my last store made Latte in 2020

Now I have 63 watercolor paintings in the rear view mirror and it feels good!

Drawing and Painting is so Zen

I bought a new watercolor paint pan for travel

It has a good variety of colors

I always do a color guide for every pan of paint that I buy

Women friends

My heart of unconditional love

I planted several primroses in the garden just to have some bright colors to look at

Sweet peas are growing!

Daisies are such happy flowers

More daisies

My favorite iron - Continental Dry Iron

I always wear mis-matched socks!

Floral Sewing Project

People often ask me where I get my inspiration. Mainly I get it from my garden with all the pretty colors, textures, and shapes.

I have a huge stash of pre-Mistyfused Fabrics sorted by color and polkadots

I started with a piece of linen that was over dyed by Wendy Richardson QT studio. I am using the backside for my background. The face is made out of an old double wedding ring block and I really like how it looks

And all the pretty flowers!

The view from my design table in my studio

I decided to back this with another piece of the same fabric. I fused it onto the back.

A little garden inspiration!

I also frayed the left side to match the other three sides. Then I actually free motion quilting around every object to prepare it for hand embroidery.

A view from the sewing machine that hasn’t been turned on since last July. I admit I had some challenges just turning it on and playing with the bobbin, but I got it to work and I got it done!

I also spent some time mending some of the sleeves on my linen shirts. Patching and more patching on this one which is my oldest CP shades shirt. I don’t want it to wear out

This is an old J Crew linen shirt and patched it with this floral piece. There are several little holes around this area but I’m just gonna leave those for right now

#the100dayproject features my portable sewing kit that I use for projects, like what I just made

I love that the boxes snap together easily and you can see thru them
