Tracie Morris

Dr. Tracie Morris is a Professor of Poetry of the Iowa Writers’ Workshop, vocalist, scholar, actor and filmmaker. Tracie has presented innovative poetry, performance art and theory in 40 countries and is the author/editor of 10 books. She has recorded extensively as performance artist. She is a Guggenheim Poetry Fellow, Cave Canem alumna and designated Master Artist of the Atlantic Center for the Arts.  Her installations and performances have been presented by the Whitney Biennial, Dia:Chelsea, The New Museum, The Kitchen Performance Space, Albertine, Furious Flower, Victoria and Albert Museum, Centre Pompidou, among others. Tracie earned her MFA in Creative Writing, Poetry at Hunter College, CUNY and her PhD in Performance Studies at NYU.
