Who is this Jason Youngdale?
I am a visual artist, writer, poet, photographer, and game designer. I founded and manage MaricopaCon, which is Arizona's first kickstarted board/card game convention. I currently paint, draw, write, woodwork, perler bead, dabble in photography, and cast in pewter. Born in Michigan, I have lived in Arizona since 1994 (the USAF brought me here). I especially enjoy painting/drawing Fantasy, Science Fiction, Surrealism, and Impressionism. I have multiple works published thru Lulu and DriveThruRPG. Dragon's Teeth RPG
Dragon’s Teeth is a Fantasy role-playing game that I originally wrote as a kid back east in Michigan (1989). Through a successful Kickstarter it is now reborn this year (2021). Character creation and combat rules are simple to focus more on the story. If you like my other RPGs you will love this one. Included are rules for Character Creation, Combat, Magic, Magic Items, Storytelling, Designing an Adventure, Monster Stats, Monster Creation, and a sample setting. Like my other RPG products everything is here in one book to get you started. This RPG is best suited for 4-5 players and one Storyteller/GM. Great for one shots and also a full campaign. Buyers of this product are given full rights to create supplemental material for this RPG system and publish/sell it (just credit Jason Youngdale for creating the system). Why pay $50-150 to get into a RPG, when you can do it for less than $20? Here is the Kickstarter that launched the reboot of this.
Virus RPG (2nd Edition)
VIRUS is a Dark Fantasy role-playing game centered around plague and virus themes. Character creation and combat is simple to focus more on the story. The Storyteller centers adventures around delivering antidotes, healing sick villagers, stopping magical curses, killing ravaging plague beasts, discovering cures, etc. All you need for this role-playing game in terms of dice is six-sided dice. This book has everything you need to get started in terms of rules. This RPG is best suited for 4-5 players and one Storyteller. Perfect for one-off adventures at conventions or getting new people into the fantasy RPG hobby. An Open License is given at the book so you can make (and sell) derivative works from this book. Why pay $50-150 to get into a RPG, when you can do it for less than $10?
Sage & Sand RPG
Sage and Sand is a role-playing game set in an alternate distant future on planet Earth. Nuclear war has occurred, with several countries having struck all over the globe. Millions of people died from the initial blasts; resulting in nuclear winter, urban skirmishes, and of course the abominations. No one knows for certain their origins. Few abominations have been killed for research, none captured alive. They have crawled, flown, and slithered out of bomb blasts and caves after the blasts. Humanoid in appearance and yet very un-human, to notice one long enough to describe it usually means death. This role-playing game focuses on story-telling and character development. There are certain "factions" controlling the planet, with each character belonging to one of them. Players in a party struggle for basic survival, and try to piece back their lives after chaos erupted barely over a year ago. This is the Core Rulebook I and contains everything you need to play except pencil and six-sided dice. Three factions and ten occupations to choose from for character creation, with all the basic rules covered and two sample scenarios included. The 2nd edition has better art and better layout, with more material. First written in 2010, and now updated in 2018.
