Trey Young I'm enamored by this album. As a mandolin player and one who writes instrumental tunes, this is familiar but also excitingly original. The tunes are all beautiful and expressive, the players all obviously tremendously talented but thoughtful enough to not let their talents interfere with the space needed for the tunes to breathe, and the recording itself is full of exquisite tones and a wonderful mix. An absolutely inspiring album. Thank you for adding this to the ether Joe!

about

Trust and Love is a collection of instrumental love songs of a sort, beautiful melodic vignettes showcasing the power of musicians listening and reacting to each other, sensitive improvisors sharing a musical conversation and following the threads. Arriving in this Maximalist moment, this record is a gently insistent argument for a "less is more" approach to string band music, and a reminder that subtlety matters as much now as ever. This record features some of the most exciting instrumental voices in the bluegrass and folk music world: Rich Hinman (pedal steel/lap steel/guitar), Zack Hickman (bass), John Mailander (fiddle), Bobby Britt (fiddle), Dave Brophy (drums/percussion), and Joe on mandolin family instruments.
