Alfred, Alone

lyrics

solitude works its witchcraft and i wake up aching to the core
fears and dreads once captured seep throughout my worn and worried soul
standing draped in soggy bed-sheets thoughts of life and where i'm meant to be
close my eyes and whisper softly i am lost a blind man in a hole

strolling on the faded concrete colorless as the dreary day
catch a word from the corner of my mouth it spells complacency
mind meanders through the thicket out will you indulge my anxious thoughts
make a bed of a park bench i lay down less than bourgeoisie

who am i
the somber smile the limp
who are you
the wander the ghost

catch the eye of a stranger he's alone outside in the cold
peaceful face paints a portrait he is free like i wish to be
glowing grin melts my cold heart welling tears the feeblest reply
floats away as my head drops i am left alone in frailty
