Collingwood-Norris | Scottish Knitwear + Visible Mending on Instagram: "My patchwork enthusiasm has continued over the last couple of weeks! Here are scenes from my studio this week as I’ve been working out which colours go where by laying it on the floor. The centre section of the patchwork is English paper piecing, and the surround is machine stitched. Eventually this will be a bed quilt, but I’m many weeks of months away from finishing it! . I have really enjoyed being creative without a particular agenda. . I’m heading off on holiday to Mull for the next week, and back in the studio on the 14th. For once I’m not planning to take any work with me! . . . #workinprogress #patchwork #englishpaperpiecing #epp #behindthescenes #designstudio #studiodog #designermaker #colourblocks #linen
Caroline Hadley on Instagram: "Sunday sketch #453 Well, well, well, look who managed to make Mocha Mousse look half-decent?! What was previously a pretty blah colour suddenly looks a lot more interesting. OK, I can’t take credit — @stitchandyarn released the latest issue of Curated Colour this week, and it’s all about Pantone’s 2025 Colour of the Year, Mocha Mousse. ☕️ 🫎 (😜) So now you have no excuse not to join in the Pantone Quilt Challenge! 😍 Check out @pantonequiltchallenge for the details and @stitchandyarn for the colour inspiration. Jo Avery on Instagram: "I didn’t make it to QuiltCon this year but my quilt did!! Thanks so much to @karenlewistextiles and @poppyprint for getting these pics, and clearly they are both having way too much fun!!😆 I have really missed seeing all my international quilting pals this year but have loved seeing all the QuiltCon posts here. A group quilt that I made with @thegoldenbobbins was also in the show and thanks to Krista for getting a photo of this one hanging too 😄 👉 Pop Art Dandelion was made for the Supernova online workshop for @threadhouseuk Academy and is still available to buy from our website as an on demand class. #popartdandelion #dandelionclockquilt #modernquilt #quiltcon #quiltcon2025 #themqg #showusyourmqg #joavery #joaverystitch #improvquilting"
Victoria Findlay Wolfe on Instagram: "I woke up from a dream I was sewing today…at 4am… Do you think I’ve been away from my machine too long? Do you have dreams where you are trying to work out an issue or idea? It’s amazing how hard our brain can work creatively while we sleep …during sleep, the brain reorganizes information, strengthens neural pathways, and helps making new connections. I do my best work when I can relax. And take a few steps away from my design walls. Sleep, driving, in the shower…. Those moments where an idea falls into place are just magic. Have you noticed where and when you get great ideas? . Flying home today. ❤️🩹 Mother is doing well. Thank you for your thoughts. ❤️ VFWquilts.com #15minutesofplay #creativity #relax #stepswayfromthemachine"
Laura on Instagram: "More QuiltCon memories! This was the second quilt I had hanging in #quiltcon2023 — it was part of the Modern X exhibit. It’s an early scrap bin quilt, the first of a series I’m still working on—made entirely from scraps that would normally have been tossed in the trash. Lots of recycled fabric in there too—all of my quilts have at least some recycled fabrics in them. They’re like little secrets only I know. . #quiltcon #quiltconmemories #scrapquilt #scrappyquilt #recycledfabric #textileart"
Kristin Feierabend on Instagram: "And here is the whole little wall hanging plus a few more detail shots. I really do enjoy big stitch hand quilting with 8 wt Perle Cotton from @wonderfilspecialtythread , but I am much better at small projects. It has been years since I have hand quilted a whole quilt so I have designs to do just that with my SHB quilt from this cycle. 🫣 Are you a hand quilter, domestic machine quilter, do you send it off for someone else to do, or do you have a long arm yourself? (I am a combo of the first three (mostly quilting on my domestic), but my dream is to have a Longarm one day! 🧞♂️ #scrappyhappybee #scrappymakesmehappy #quiltylove #quiltyfriendsarethebest #rubystarsociety #alexiamarcelleabegg #darlingsfabric #ogcottonandsteel #bearpawquilt #bearp

I was overwhelmed with sadness to hear about the sudden loss of friend @laurahartrich ‘s daughter Persephone. My love language is making and soon after the news I started making abstract hexie flowers with Persephone on my mind. With Laura’s permission I wanted to share a quick tutorial for anyone else who may want to make their own flowers. We love you Laura and Persephone. 🩷🌺 1. Pick a triangle size, (cut it 1/4 inch larger then what you plan to use to allow for trimming) and cut six equilateral triangles from the same fabric. (I found it helpful to use an equilateral triangle ruler). 2. Sew small triangles of another contrast fabric right sides together at each corner of the larger tria

The design, called “Life Savers,” was created by designer and architect Alan Buchsbaum and hit the interiors market in the early 1970s. It features intense yellow circles (which resemble Life Savers candies) tightly aligned in a polka dot fashion. 🟡 __ Wallpaper, Life Savers, 1970–75; Designed by Alan Buchsbaum for Norton Blumenthal, New York, NY; USA.
