Christ Chapel was constructed in the spring of 1959 at the critically-acclaimed Gustavus Adolphus College, in St Peter, Minnesota. The grounds of the chapel and the walls of the Lutheran sanctuary are decorated with detailed, lifelike statures chiseled by sculptor Paul Granlund. The base floor of the auditorium seats 1,200 and a balcony hovers over the back and seats an additional 300, altogether totaling a seating capacity of about 1,500.
