Grasshopper Point (Sedona, AZ) this is a popular swimming hole that is well-shaded, and has the perfect combination of deep, clear pools and tall cliffs. a day-use fee of $12 per vehicle is required for entry. dogs are not allowed. 2. Bullpen Day Use Area (near Camp Verde, AZ) this swimming hole has plenty of shade, cliff jumping and a rope swing. 3. Verde River (near Cottonwood, AZ) the verde river is a great spot for kayaking. you can rent kayaks or bring your own. fun for the whole family! 4. Midgley Bridge (Sedona, AZ) this is a great family friendly swimming hole. to reach the creek, you’ll follow the Huckaby trail for half a mile. this parking at the bridge is limited, so arrive early. you’ll need a Red Rock Pass to park anywhere in this area. dog friendly. there is a vault toilet in the parking 5. Mt. Lemmon (near Tucson, AZ) located in Tucson, AZ. drive the scenic byway which offers sweeping views and pull-offs to explore, or hike one of the many trails. 6. The Crack (near Sedona, AZ) this popular swimming hole can be reached via the Bell Trail. avoid hiking in the heat of the day as there is limited shade. parking is free. 7. Bootlegger Picnic Area (Sedona, AZ) enjoy fishing and clear water swimming holes. a Red Rock Pass is required which can be purchased on site. dog + family friendly. 8. West Clear Creek the west clear creek wilderness is a stunning canyon carved out by west clear creek. the point trail is pictured here. 9. Blue Ridge Reservoir (near Happy Jack, AZ) also referred to as C.C. Cragin Reservoir, it’s a popular spot for kayaking, paddle boarding and fishing. 10.
