Composition study

What its a composition layouts? Composition layouts are made using a group of lines that give order to spaces where elements will be placed. They are made using straight and curved lines, as well as geometric figures that relate to each other.

This workshop was focused on explaining how ideas used to draw the figure apply to drawing everything :)

In fine art and graphic design, the Principles of Design are used to create works that are balanced, have unity, successfully incorporate shapes and forms and, in general, have an aesthetic quality. In drawing, the term Composition is used to describe the design and placement of objects within the four edges of the paper. In this chapter we will cover the visual forces at work in drawing Composition, as well as Design Systems from Europe and Asia.

Thumbnail assignments done for Eric Gagnon's How to Sketch class for Syn Studio's Concept Art Diploma pogram. The assignment for the first image here was to create simple 3 tone thumbnails adhering to a wild west town setting. the top 4 images were done on top of a simple google sketchup model whereas the bottom 6 were simply painted outright. The second image is a simple experiment with using alchemy and custom brushes for quick ideation. This was not specifically done for class.
