321K views · 13K reactions | I learned today that excess sugar can make stomach virus symptoms worse and can possibly weaken your immune system. Ie: all the standard ginger ale I’ve sipped for years during stomach aches was prolonging the illness. 😅I found a natural ginger ale recipe from one of my old books and laughed when I realized how close the ingredients mimic the popular stuff. Not surprising that we added loads of sugar to an otherwise healthy drink. I added cloves to this recipe because they help the stomach so much(digestion, stomach ailments and diarrhea). Instead of mixing it all together, I created a “syrup” that can be refrigerated or frozen and added to tea, flat or sparkling water. 
2 tsp fresh ginger (1 tsp of powdered)
2 tbs honey
2 cups water 
5-7 whole cloves
