I realized that I never posted the Pinewood Derby last year, so I thought I would post a little of both years. We basically used a checkerboard theme for our derby. Pinewood derby decor

I'm excited about how the prizes for the Pinewood Derby winners. I used a .97 cent plaque from Walmart, chalkboard labels & 3 packages of dollar store cars, & some racing flags I had. I stained the wood, sprayed with polyurethane coat, sprayed the cars gold(actually my son did that). I hot glued car & flags onto the board. Lastly, I wrote with permanent chalk markers & will fill in the winners names tonight. I hope the boys like them!
