BIND THY TIME...Labors of Love for Labor Day

Got this Christmas WH bound today
AND...this one, too

Here's a look at that foggy binding...

I always drag my feet when the quilt is done and just the binding has to be sewn on;
I think that I am afraid to "mess it up"......or something.....
At any rate....they just have to be sewn down by hand

Here is the back of the Christmas one

The mosaic sample blocks sewn together......

I also was able to spend 45 minutes practicing my Chopin Nocturne (Op 25 No 1) and getting an "AHA" moment on how to work it out....
What a terrific Labor Day.
These things are "labors of love"...

Hugs to you all

A TEENEY, TINY PEEK

Here is a peek at my latest "big" project.  All pin-basted and ready to quilt--yay!!
I cannot show you the whole thing....as a certain family member (you know who you are LOL) will be reading this post and I want this to be a surprise!

I followed Elizabeth Hartman's ( Oh Fransson ) directions in her wonderful book "Modern Patchwork" for getting the layers together and basting.  Her methods are easy and give great results.  The back is even smooth....

Today I go to my LQS to get a walking foot, go food shopping, walk, try to eat less (hah) and generally get things done around here.

this will be my first attempt at machine quilting on "Helga"--I have been a little hesitant to machine quilt a bigger project (other than mug rugs) on her.  So, I will practice on a few smaller projects I have--like the borders on this baby, which has been hanging around --

Most likely UPSIDE DOWN (lol)--IN MY DARK CLOSET......

That's it for today...Au Revoir, Julierose, La Blageuse

WEDNESDAY WALL

GHOUL-A-THON:  After much fabric trial and error, I finished up my Ghastlies wallhanging--
All these strange and weird creatures just fired up my imagination:

TO This:

                                                     AND This Strange bedfellow...yipes

AND these lovely  ladies:

AND eek-ville witchey-poos:

It took the longest time to pick out the final border; but I think it looks nightmarish enough to contain all its unearthly population....

And now for something entirely different......
PART DEUX: on my wall:

Here's a change--right???I was dreaming of Spring yesterday and was ironing all these light fabrics  and just sat down and free-pieced--for fun....I have NO idea exactly what to DO with it, but perhaps some idea will hit me.

PART THREE:  Remember me???? I have been calling Julierose--has she forgotten meeeee????

                                                       click on me, too.....

I am all done by hand; I am languishing here...whaaaaaah....

We are hunkering down in preparation for Storm Charlotte this Friday--some forecasts predict over 1' - 2' of snow and 30 - 50 mph winds.  Did our food shopping this morning (got all those snack foods--did you all know that it's okay to eat junk food during a storm???ROTFLOL)...
That's all for today...Julierose, La Blageuse
