I'm supposed to be writing a shopping list ... but...

Hello !
Yes, I should be compiling a concise list of what we need to buy today - especially as we're on day 4 of a low-carb diet.
None of this 'willy-nilly' grabbing of things off the supermarket shelves ... oh no, I shall get into sensible mode and do it ....  perhaps ;D)

but

I've also been wanting to get back to blogging because the week or so I took off kind of turned into a month that was filled with lots of things that needed to be done.  The older I get, the less organised I become but I've embraced that tendency rather than fight against it ;D)

So, just quickly, I'll pop in some photos and get my blogging back on track:

A bouquet I picked a week or so back, the Grevillea is still flowering - through all the cold weather we've had.
We're getting an egg a day from each hen - beautiful bounty!

I painted a lot of cards for birthdays - it was a good incentive to get back my painting mojo!
(They're pictured in their early stages drying)

This is my painting room - my 'woman cave' lol ... I took this photo just a few minutes ago.  It's got everything, my favourite Op Shop bargain chair, CD player and many paints and brushes.
Plus, another painting started - yay!

Spring is definitely in the air... this couple of Skinks are busy making their babies - I felt like a voyeur at times, this is their afterglow ;D)

Looking across from our verandah into next-door's garden... beautiful pink spring blossoms - lovely!

Well, My Darling has woken up and is making our morning cups of coffee so I shall say bye bye for now.
Thanks for visiting, and I'll catch up with each of you soon.

... but first, there's peas followed by lizards

⏩ Lizard alert a bit further down this post,

but first, there's peas.... beautiful homegrown peas, straight from My Darling's first harvest:

I couldn't resist playing around with them
before they went into a stir-fry, yummo 😋

Following on from my previous post, Jenny Wolf asked if the blue tongue lizard's tongue is really blue, so I dug out some photos I took last year:

These were taken through our kitchen window and aren't as sharp as might be, but, there's that incredible blue tongue!

Wishing everyone lots of good times, and
Cheerio for now :D)

Back on deck....

Hello there,

Where to start?  I'm rusty !!

Been away a long time and the only way I can sum up the reasons for my absence is to quote Miranda Hart when she says "Life, eh?"

The old brain cogs took a little while to work out how to drive this blog posting again - it does help if passwords are kept to hand, for one thing ;D)

Anyway, here we are and I hope that all is well with you out there. So, off I go ....

We're enjoying the approach of Summer... lots of sunny days but not the heat.  The grass has all just been mowed so the Blackbirds are out pecking around finding little treats for their babies:

Our resident Blue Tongue Lizard is also out and about taking in the sun - but not as actively as the Blackbirds:
She/he has become so tame that as long as we walk slowly past her she'll stay put.  I was an arm's length away for this photo today.

Painting is still one of my favourite hobbies and I'll include a few of my efforts.  I enjoy painting cards for the family - in fact, I thoroughly enjoy it. It's nice to add that personal touch.

and finally, the painting I'd started  (see this post) before I abandoned my poor blog:

Cheerio for now and thanks for your visit :D)
