Addicted, on the face of it, is a love song about idolising a person who continuously hurts you but you’re so under their spell you can’t stop yourself coming back for more. I actually wrote it about music and being in an industry which can make or break your spirit from one moment to the next. But regardless I have to keep making music. I care about it too much and am too passionate it about to ever stop.
lyrics
Call me crazy but I think I may be
Addicted to you and I don’t wanna pull through
Even though you hurt me I know nobody’s perfect
But I can’t get enough of your kind of love
And I don’t wanna call for help
‘Cause I need you and no one else
You’re the rain that made the flood
Wouldn’t shelter if I could
You’re every breath in my lungs
You’re the poison in my blood
I’m under the influence, you’re under my skin
I know I should fight it but I’m caving in
They say you’re no good for me but what can I do?
I’m head over heels, I’m addicted to you
People tell me that I’ll wind up lonely
If I don’t walk away but I’m here to stay
Because it’s my decision but they won’t listen
If they only knew what I do
They would never call for help
‘Cause I need you and no one else
You’re the only thing I crave
Ain’t no substitute for pain
You’re running round in every vein
And I’m the only one to blame
I’m under the influence, you’re under my skin
I know I should fight it but I’m caving in
They say you’re no good for me but what can I do?
I’m head over heels, I’m addicted to you
Maybe in the future I’ll be stone cold sober
My vision would be clearer but I know I’ll still see
You right next to me
I’m under the influence, you’re under my skin
I know I should fight it but I’m caving in
They say you’re no good for me but what can I do?
I’m head over heels, I’m addicted to you
I’m under the influence, you’re under my skin
I know I should fight it but I’m caving in
They say you’re no good for me but what can I do?
I’m head over heels, I’m addicted to you
