Thanksgiving Blessing

Hello friends it’s my favorite holiday today! I have two! Thanksgiving and Christmas. (smile) It’s Thanksgiving in the US! We celebrate a whole day of gratitude! Whether you are alone or with a group, around a family table, or tv tray, I wish you God’s abundant blessings, today and every day. Know that God is with you. I hope you will enjoy using this simple prayer of gratitude when you enjoy your meal today.

Heavenly Father, on this day of thanksgiving, we acknowledge the countless blessings you have given us. We thank you for the hands that prepared this food, and the presence of the spirit of peace and love that binds us together and to You.

We “Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good; His love endures forever.” (1 Chronicles 16:34, NIV). Thank you for Your enduring love, which sustains us.

We lift up our hearts to You, praying for our needs and the needs of the world, knowing that You care for us: “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.” (Philippians 4:6, NIV). We thank You for loving us.

We ask that You bless this food to nourish our bodies, and let this day of gratitude nourish our souls. May we carry the spirit of gratitude with us long after this day is done.

You do not need an extravagant meal, you can say this when you eat a piece of bread, or anything really. (smile)

I know the holiday season can be difficult for some. Please know you are loved and you are never truly alone.
