Hi, I'm Kenny.
嗨,我是郭柯宇。
Currently:
- Fourth-year ECE student @ the University of Toronto.
- I spend most of my time thinking laterally, and maximizing entropy.
- I care about problems with a lot of moving parts:
- Performance engineering
- Chip design and architecture
- Distributed systems
- I like working through things carefully, breaking things, and hacking things.
- Right now I'm learning photonics, and building semiconductor fab equipment @ Hacker Fab.
In the past, I've:
- Helped build an open source TPU, wrote a detailed blog post, shared it on Twitter, met Groq's CEO.
- Got rejected from Emergent Ventures, convinced Tyler Cowen to hop on a call, and was later funded (54th cohort).
- Presented to a crowd of 2,000+ people at Socratica Symposium 2026.
- Trained a 100M-parameter image captioning model using Kaggle's free GPUs.
- Built a generalizable neural network library for FPGAs in Verilog.
- Folded some of the hardest origami designs.
- Built a high-voltage tube furnace that reached 1,000 °C.
Previously:
Interned at Groq
- Helped ship new load-balancing algorithms for Groq's datacenters.
- Brought up a Kimi model end to end, from Hugging Face to inference execution on LPUs.
Interned at NVIDIA
- Won first place in the annual intern competition (software category), where I built a low-latency distributed inference engine for robotics models, running on multiple racks of LPU clusters.
- Built my own performance engineering tools and shipped new compiler features for performance analysis.
- Dove into compiler theory and wrote my own small loop-optimization pass for the LPU compiler.
