Kerrigan is a hybrid cryptocurrency built for GPU miners who believe in decentralization and financial privacy. Four mining algorithms across GPU and ASIC hardware ensure no single device dominates the network.

Masternodes provide instant transactions and governance. Sapling shielded transactions give you zero-knowledge proof privacy. Your transactions stay between you and the chain.

A 5-way coinbase split funds miners, masternodes, development, founders, and an AI marketplace. The goal: a decentralized GPU availability network where miners earn KRGN for AI inference work.

Four mining algorithms across GPU and ASIC hardware. KawPoW and Equihash 192,7 for GPU miners. X11 and Equihash 200,9 for ASICs. Multiple entry points, one network.

Sapling Privacy

zk-SNARK shielded transactions via Sapling protocol. Send and receive KRGN with full zero-knowledge proof privacy. Live on mainnet. Your balance and transaction history stay yours.

Masternodes

Collateralized masternodes provide instant transactions, governance voting, and earn 20% of the block reward. Lock 10,000 KRGN and run a node to earn passive income from the network.

AI Marketplace

Currently, 40% of block rewards fund development, exchange listings, and ecosystem growth. In V2, that 40% shifts to GPU inference providers who earn block rewards plus pay-per-API-call in KRGN. Private AI compute, no accounts, no middlemen.

Algorithms

Kerrigan uses four proof-of-work algorithms. Each targets 480-second blocks individually, giving a combined 120-second network block time. Click an algorithm below to learn more.

ASIC

X11

What it is: A chained hash of 11 different algorithms (BLAKE, BMW, Groestl, JH, Keccak, Skein, Luffa, Cubehash, SHAvite, SIMD, Echo). Runs each hash sequentially on the block header.

Hardware: ASIC (Bitmain Antminer D3/D5 and similar). GPU mining possible but not competitive against dedicated hardware.

Miners: cgminer, sgminer (GPU), Antminer firmware (ASIC)

Block target: 480 seconds per algo

GPU

KawPoW

What it is: ProgPoW variant (v0.9.4) that generates random programs to saturate GPU compute and memory bandwidth. Makes ASICs uneconomical by fully utilizing commodity GPU capabilities.

Hardware: GPU (AMD and NVIDIA). 4GB+ VRAM recommended.

Miners: T-Rex (NVIDIA), TeamRedMiner (AMD), kawpowminer

Block target: 480 seconds per algo

ASIC

Equihash 200,9

What it is: Memory-hard proof-of-work based on the generalized birthday problem. Parameters n=200, k=9. ASIC-friendly due to widespread hardware availability for this parameter set.

Hardware: ASIC (Bitmain Antminer Z9/Z11/Z15). GPU mining possible with EWBF or miniZ but ASICs dominate.

Miners: Antminer firmware (ASIC), EWBF, miniZ, lolMiner (GPU)

Block target: 480 seconds per algo

GPU

Equihash 192,7

What it is: Equihash variant with parameters n=192, k=7 and personalization kerrigan. Different parameters mean no existing ASICs can mine this algo. Higher memory bandwidth requirement than 200,9.

Hardware: GPU only (AMD and NVIDIA). No ASICs exist for this parameter set.

Miners: miniZ, lolMiner, EWBF (with 192,7 support)

GPU Miners

KawPoW and Equihash 192,7 are GPU-only. Mine with the cards you already own. In V2, those same GPUs earn both block rewards and per-call payments for AI inference.

ASIC Miners

X11 and Equihash 200,9 welcome dedicated hardware. Two GPU algos, two ASIC algos. The network works for everyone.

Inference Rewards (V2)

Point your GPUs at the Kerrigan inference network and earn two ways: block rewards from the 40% coinbase share, plus pay-per-API-call from users paying KRGN for compute.

Private LLM Access (V2)

Use large language models on an open, private platform. Pay with KRGN. No accounts, no data harvesting, no middlemen.

Technology

Sapling Protocol

Sapling shielded transactions with incremental Merkle trees, ZIP 243 sighash, and a Rust/CXX FFI bridge. Every KRGN transfer can be mathematically private. Not mixing. Zero-knowledge proofs.

Hivemind Consensus

Per-algorithm difficulty adjustment keeps all four algos balanced, while threshold co-signing by active miners creates cryptographic block finality. 51% attacks become structurally infeasible, not just expensive. The network detects the absence of trusted participants on competing chains and rejects them regardless of proof-of-work length.

5-Way Coinbase Split

Every block reward is deterministically split five ways. The 40% share currently funds development and exchange listings. In V2, it shifts to AI GPU inference participants. Enforced at the consensus layer.

Masternode Infrastructure

Collateralized masternode network providing instant transaction locking, governance voting, and network services. 10,000 KRGN collateral to run a masternode. Operators earn 20% of every block reward. The masternode network also governs budget proposals and treasury disbursements through on-chain voting.

Masternodes & BroodNodes

Collateralized full nodes that provide services to the network and earn a share of every block reward. Run a Masternode (10,000 KRGN) or upgrade to a BroodNode (40,000 KRGN) for 4x consensus weight.

Run a Node

Lock 10,000 KRGN for a Masternode or 40,000 KRGN for a BroodNode. Both earn from the 20% node portion of every block reward, with BroodNodes receiving 4x selection weight.

Governance

Node operators vote on network proposals and budget allocation. One node, one vote. Dev fund and AI marketplace disbursements are governed by the node network.

BroodNode Advantage

BroodNodes get 4x VRF selection in the Hivemind Protocol and earn for 4 consecutive rounds when selected. More collateral, more consensus influence, more rewards.
