Historical Blunders
What if history, as we know it,
is full of blunders…even lies?
Spring of joy – summer of love.
Stormy autumn, then winter so cold.
Through the ages, - eternal time,
seasons of wither and seasons in prime.
Nature’s pantomime…or illusion sublime?
Well, - either way…
History, as we know it is our written heritage.
A cornerstone for knowledge and evolution, page by page.
Future expectations grow on past and present cues.
Tomorrow’s revolution mirrors yesterday’s review.
Teachers and preachers have told us that
fact is a fact, - no matter…
Dealers and healers have sold us
lie after lie, - for that matter…
Just what it is, - and always has been.
Just as it is, - and always will be…
Allow me to rewrite history. Nothing major, - just a twist.
But how would such minor changes have a ected
our post-historical understanding?
Well, - imagine if…
Moses was in Egypt’s land,
dealing ten commandments at a second-hand.
They’d bargain both state and fee,
then Moses walked home with only three.
Young David gazed at Goliath, the giant.
Courageous “dandy”, narcissistic – defi ant.
The stone fl ew with an awful hiss.
Bad aim, oh - what a miss!
These, and below examples indicate that even smallest
historical blunders would have, - and always will change
the shape of things to come.
What if Caesar never crossed the Rubicon?
Or Joan of Arc was someone’s only son?
What if Judas, - really was the faithful one?
And that guy Chapman never aimed his gun?
Our legacy renewed from a di erent point of view.
What if history, as we know it, is all full of blunders?
What if history, as we write it, is still full of blunders, - even lies?
What if history of tomorrow is built on
small conscious errors, blunders and lies…
What is our origin – where do we go…
Is the past at peace with a future unknown?
Cause life goes on, - no matter.
We can’t change the past,
but tomorrow will come…

Soothfully a phenomenal prog rock album—an instant classic. What motivates me to say so, is the music’s incredible expressiveness & its wonderfully cinematic song structures. Jargon is a very good fit with this band. It is quite evident that the band’s current lineup have great chemistry together & that they share a common affinity to this vein of music. I look forward to their next creation. Drifting Sun are definitely one of prog rock’s brightest lights. Thank you, DS!

I received this as a surprise present by the band for pre-ordering the upcoming album, so thanks a lot to you, too :-))
As could be expected by Pat Sanders & Co, highly melodic prog that should, for instance, appeal too friends of Fish-era Marillion (although Uncle Fish would never have reached those high notes ;-) ) and some instrumentals (from beautiful miniatures like Bubbles to the more epic Last Supper). Among many other fine things offered here, I especially love Pat's piano playing! Carsten Pieper
