What exactly is Keyplar?

Keyplar is the delivery layer that runs after your checkout. Stripe, Lemon Squeezy, or Polar processes the payment; Keyplar then grants what was bought — license keys, file downloads, GitHub repository access, links, or custom instructions — and gives your buyers a portal to access it all.

Do I still use my own payment provider?

Yes. Keyplar never touches the money. You keep your own Stripe (or Lemon Squeezy / Polar) account, your own checkout, and your own payout schedule. Keyplar listens to your gateway's webhooks and handles everything after payment.

How does the License API work?

Your app calls POST /api/v1/licenses/validate (or activate / deactivate) with a license key and a server-side API key. The response tells you if the key is valid and includes the order, product, and customer it belongs to — so support questions take seconds, not archaeology.

Can I move my existing customers over?

Yes. The import tool backfills your catalog, orders, subscriptions, and license keys from Stripe, Lemon Squeezy, or Polar. Existing gateway-issued license keys are preserved, so nothing your customers already have stops working.

Does Keyplar charge per order?

No. Plans are flat monthly — $29 or $79 — with unlimited orders and unlimited License API calls on both. You pay your gateway's processing fees and nothing more per sale.

Can I use my own domain and logo?

On the Pro plan, your portal runs on your own domain with your own logo and no Keyplar branding. Starter runs on a keyplar.com subdomain with your store name.
