This privacy policy applies to the website koalastuff.net (the "Site"). The Site is a static website with no backend, no database, no analytics, no tracking, no cookies, and no third-party scripts or embeds. The projects overview makes a direct request to the GitHub API to show current repository update dates.

3. What data is collected

The Site itself does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data. There are no:

  • Analytics or tracking scripts
  • Cookies set by this website
  • Session identifiers
  • Fingerprinting techniques
  • Third-party embeds
  • External fonts (all fonts are self-hosted)
  • External images or CDN resources

4. Local storage

This website may store your theme preference (dark or light), your experimental-project display preference, and a temporary cache of public GitHub repository data locally in your browser using localStorage. These values are not used for tracking or analytics. You can clear them at any time by clearing your browser's local storage for this domain.

5. GitHub API request

When you open the projects overview, your browser may request public repository metadata directly from api.github.com. GitHub receives technical connection data such as your IP address, browser information, and request time. The response is cached locally for up to six hours to reduce repeated requests. GitHub processes this data under its own privacy policy.

6. Server logs

Our web server (Caddy) running on a VPS collects standard access logs (e.g. IP address, browser type, request time) to ensure server stability and diagnose technical issues. These logs are automatically deleted after 7 days and are not used for tracking or linked to individuals.

7. External links

The Site contains links to external websites (GitHub, dev.to, browser extension stores). These websites have their own privacy policies. KoalaStuff is not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites.

8. Children

The Site is not directed at children under the age of 16. No personal data of children is knowingly collected.

9. Your rights (GDPR)

You have the right to request access, rectification, or erasure of your personal data. Since we do not permanently store personal data, it is technically impossible to link IP addresses in temporary log files to individuals.
