My hybrid art journal page for the Wendy's theme 'A moment in time' at 

Art Journal Journey Challenge this month.

You see beneath of it my handmade work from the year 2015. I added this work made 10 years ago onto the new journal page, where I also added the number 10 on its upper left corner. This is refering the time between my works, and how the old one can be used as a part of the new work. 

 For the art journal page I made totally new background and used the digital layer mask technique for adding the old handmade work nicely onto the AJ-page. The other images and overlays were chosen from my archive.

So this is my story, this is my way for the time theme.

Ylinnä on hybridi-tekniikalla tekemäni art journal-työ, jossa käytin käsin 10 vuotta sitten tekemääni työtä, jonka näet alempana. 

Tein tämän teemaan 'Hetki ajassa', jossa tulee huomioida jollain tavalla aika. Se toteutuu työssäni siinä, että uudessa työssäni lisäsin sen yläkulmaan numeron 10. Tämä kertoo aikaeron näiden töiden välillä - tietenkin, jos tietää tarinan - ja sen kerron nyt: 

Siis tämä on tarinani, tämä on tapani, tämä tehty Aika-teemaan.

Lisäsin käsin tehdyn työn 'layerimaski'-tekniikalla uudelle nyt digitaalisesti tekemälleni taustalle, johon kuvamateriaalin valitsin arkistostani.

Jack-o-Lantern/Kurpitsalyhty

My digital interpretation for the theme 'Jack-o-Lantern' at Digital Whisper.

I designed and layered it in my photoshop program with its tools, and added light- and other effects, and used the images I chose from my archive.

The pumpkin is as a lantern in my fantasy work.

My Steampunk interpretation in the art journal page form. 

I designed and layered it digitally in my photoshop. First I made the background giving it the texture and light effect filters that grey of steam looks well, then added the images of the steampunk style, then steam layers, and finished the page typing the text: 

'All her buttons on...☸'

In the spot light/Valokeilassa

I made the hybrid art work using my hand with acrylic on a crumbled paper painted girl face, which I  added on my digitally made background that I effected and filtered in my photoshop program. I finished my work with some effects and filters, added some digital images and elements, and the Victor Hugo's quote.

 I feel same way.

The background for this digitally designed art journal page was made with big number of embellishments chosen from my archive, and I used the freebie woman image that I've saved years ago.

Her state and expression made me use the quote of Diane von Furstenberg, that I designed and typed on the background in my photoshop program.

"Asenne on kaikki"- art journal työn suunnittelin ja toteutin digitaalisesti fotosopissani teemaan 'Tee oma tausta'.

Taustassani on runsaasti koristemateriaalia, joka löytyi arkistostani, ja pääkuvaksi valitsin naisen, jolla näyttää olevan asennetta. Se on kehystämäni ilmaiskuva vuosien takaa. Tekstin kirjoitin tekemääni kehykseen digitaalisesti.

Harlequin/Harlekiini

 

Harlequin is the theatrical character of the Italian comedian dell'arte; a facile and wily gentleman's valet, a capricious serving maid. He wears checkered patterned clothes. There in plays since the 1500 era is also the duck character with white balls around, and you see one in my work. In addition I added on the background a woman image and my story with the text 'Farewell my baby', which both doesn't relate the play any way. But because I've made the word letters digitally earlier, and now the  color of them fits well on my design, and my story's nasty words could be said by the capricious harlequin, I widened the original Harlequin story with my own, and it's now also the art journal work.

 I created the background using different layering elements including the same kind of colour shades as the Harlequin's clothes. That was quite laborious to do: all was made, layered and filtered in my photoshop program with the image material that I chose and altered from my image archive.

 I made this digital work for the Digital Whisper's 'Harlequin'-theme,   

and because it's including my own BG and my story, it's the art journal, and I'm linking it also at Art Journal Journey Mia's theme: 'Make your own Background'.

Harlekiini on tyyppi-hahmo italialaisessa komediassa 1500-luvulta. Hän on erään herrasmiehen ovela ja juonikas miespalvelija värikkäissä ruutukuvioisissa vaatteissa. Näytelmässä on myös hahmo, joka on ankka.Tein siitä oman kuvallisen karaktäärin ja lisäsin toisenkin oman naishahmon, joka ei millään tavalla liity alkuperäiseen komediaan. Hänelle Harlekiini sanoo ilkeästi: 'Hyvästi kulta', koska mielestäni huikentelevainen Harlekiini olisi voinut niin sanoa naiselle. Lisäksi minulla oli valmiiksi tehtynä kirjaimet, jotka väriltään sopivat taustaväreihin. Taustan tein kokonaan itse monin kerrostumin, filtterein, efektein ja värityksin.

My digital interpretation for the theme 'Make your own background' 

hosted by Mia this month at Art Journal Journey Challenge.

For me the theme is constant, because I always make my own background for my art. For the digital art my background can be an alteration from some background paper, or it can be my handmade background, or it can be a mixed of hybrid.

Above you see my digitally created background, which includes some altered images, digital effects and filters, and different color alterations. 

All was made in my photoshop program by me.

The images are from my image archive: the altered main 'woman'-image is chosen from my files, and the quote is typed on the background.  

Nowadays I also make often hybrids, and then use my hand made and digital material together for the backgrounds.
