Meet Xuzhou's Yaowan, a trade hub on the Grand Canal

😍😍Straddled by the Zhong Canal on the west and Luoma Lake to the east, the ancient town of #Yaowan in Xinyi, Xuzhou, East China's# Jiangsu province was for centuries, beginning in the late Ming Dynasty (1368-1644), a bustling wharf. The Zhong Canal (literally Middle Canal), part of the Grand Canal, stretches for 186 kilometers, connecting Taier'zhuang in Shandong province and Huai'an in Jiangsu province. It was excavated during the late Ming and early Qing (1644-1911) dynasties to expedite the north-south transport of tribute grain, and replaced an earlier channel that had filled up with silt from the Yellow River.

Stranded short-finned pilot whale returns to habitat in Sanya

🐳🐳Marine experts have confirmed that the short-finned pilot #whale named Haitang, which had been stranded in Haitang Bay in #Sanya, #Hainan province due to injury since Jan 3, has returned to its normal habitat. The island province initiated the first follow-up survey activity on July 4 following the release of the whale back into the sea on May 26. Short-finned pilot whales are nationally protected second-class wild animals in China. They are social deep-diving cetaceans.

An exhibition by artist Jia Wei KK, Ru Hua Zai Ye (Ruhua Wilding), has opened at the Muse Art Space on the second floor of Wuhan's Fengmao Andi Hotel. Running until Oct 8, the exhibition is the first time Jia Wei's complete works, including the Wild series and the Flower Swing series, are being showcased in #Wuhan. A major part of the Wuhan exhibition is the The Crocodile Is Coming sculpture from the Rainbow in the Abyss series. Made from special materials, the “crocodile” will “emerge” from the ground and walls to provide an immersive interaction with the visitors. 🤩🤩
