Golden brown baked onions and cheese on the outside, juicy ground beef, creamy sauce, pickles, and crisp lettuce on the inside. Perfect for guests or your weekend soul food! Ingredients for 1 roll: For the roll: 🧅 3–4 large onions 🧀 200 g grated cheese 🫒 2 tbsp olive oil 🌶 1 tsp sweet paprika 🧂 Salt For the filling: 🥩 400 g ground beef 🥒 4 pickles 🧀 4 slices of cheddar 🥬 1/4 iceberg lettuce 🌶 1 tsp sweet paprika 🫒 2 tbsp oil Big Mac Style Sauce: 🥄 150 g mayonnaise 🍅 2 tbsp ketchup 🥄 1 tbsp mustard 🥒 1 tbsp pickle juice 🌶 1 tsp sweet paprika 🧂 Salt & pepper Preparation: 1️⃣ Prepare the onion roll: Thinly slice the onions into rings. Sprinkle grated cheese on a baking tray lined with parchment paper. Spread onions on top, brush with oil, and season. Bake at 200 °C (top/bottom heat) for approx. 30 min until golden brown. Let cool. 2️⃣ Filling: Fry the ground beef in oil until crumbly. Season with salt and paprika. Slice pickles and finely shred the lettuce. 3️⃣ Sauce: Mix all ingredients and season to taste. 4️⃣ Assemble the roll: Flip the onion sheet over (onions facing down). Place cheddar in the center, spread ground beef over it. Bake again for 5–10 minutes. Top with lettuce, pickles, and sauce.
