Jolly Green Spa Day!! 😍🦎 | By The Reptile Zoo | Okay, I've got Jolly Green here for his annual scrub. Ooh, he's already ready for his spa day. Let's see a little bit right up on top there. Um he loves it here at the zoo. Can you wonder why he loves the zoo? Banana eat. I'm not going to tell him that because I want him to first sit still for me as we scrub him down. You want the banana? Come. Show me one. Let's see. A little bit right up on top there. Oh, look at that. Oh, it's like cleaning a windshield. Um this is our big green male iguana. Um we've had him for about 15 years. We've had him for quite a while. Um this guy will consistently get different types of treats. He is our biggest want to oh sorry sorry buddy I just want to get that one piece off you one piece one piece dude no okay absolutely not no you can't eat that the bananas okay we're going to do the banana first here do you want the banana what are you doing dude love bug here you want the banana here you go you want the whole thing here you have stickers on it there you go you can take the whole thing oh good job dude so they do eat the peel they do like the peel it does have and stuff in it so that's always really nice but we'll peel it back form so iguanas actually really enjoy the overly ripe ones because it's already broken down for the oh he says hi hi it's already broken down form it's very ripened they love love love good ripe I was going to say potatoes these are not potatoes really ripe bananas just gets already really mushy and ready to go basically right before when you want to make banana bread with them is their favorites So, this one he would probably prefer it to be a little bit of little less or I guess a little bit more ripe. Okay, Jolles. Um a little bit more ripe but he'll take it. He's not too worried about it, huh? Oh man, you're just rolling after me. Come here, dude. Here. Do you want it right on top? There you go. Oh, here. Come here. Come here. Come here. Come here. There you go. Oh my gosh, you weirdo. He is so cute. So, this guy we he is kind of back and forth in temperament. So, he either is very sweet or not at all. I have been bitten by him a couple times simply because he's just like well you are in my way. I don't care. Um and other times he's like love me. Feed me. Do all the things. And other times he's like don't look at me. Don't touch me. Don't interact with me. And we feel fine about that. He's been here long enough. Uh and we are like full. You're like okay you're the old man on campus. You win. Whatever you want goes. Whatever you want goes. Huh Jolls. He knows it. He he also very deeply. He's like well I have seniority over every single other iguana over every single staff member. He gets what he wants whenever he wants but that's okay. He deserves it. This guy is our biggest, cutest little guy. So, this is a little bit larger than your average iguana especially so the female iguanas say a lot smaller where the male iguanas, they naturally get a lot larger and they're usually a little bit more beautiful than the females as well just to be able to be nice and gorgeous for the females specifically but this is a very very very large iguana. A very beautiful healthy body. Big old healthy tail. Look how look how long this is. He's I think he's like almost the same height as me. So I'm five five or so. Um on like a good day. Not going to lie. Probably a little bit shorter than that. Um and he is just about that. I got no more. I got no more. Um he's just about that same. I'm trying to vibe. Do you want to be picked up? Can I show him how tall you are? Come here buddies. Here we go because he is such a big bodied animal too you just kind of have to be careful and you have to hold him his whole body let him make sure that he is feeling supported and held onto so see how he's got I've got his two moving points all lizards will pivot from their back legs so it's not their frontal points that will make him feel more secure it's more this back legs so the fact that he's holding on nicely see that he feels great he thinks he's on a branch right now little does he know he's just in Juliet's arms but the moment that he realizes he's like wait what the heck and then he'll just wiggle wiggle wiggle a little bit but I'm fine with that we're fine with that huh Jolly all jowl stirs so you can still kind of see the banana right in his throat there so he's using his big old huge jowls big old huge muscles and he's using those just contract and swallow basically you guys can see see his big old nails right there so this guy he is not the best climber anymore simply because he's such a big bodied animal see the big old chunky belly He's not a small guy. Um there you go. He just noticed he wasn't on a branch. Um the moment I can feel his legs go like this. He's like, wait, what's happening? Oh, no. No. Okay. You do, you do. You do you. At least you didn't go for this. You can eat that while I'm still talking to you. Here. I'll take the top off for you. There you go. Eat it. So there you have it people. He did it on his own. Um but yeah so a lot of lizards. So actually I'll show you them those movement points. So with him he might be like dude I'm trying to eat. Do you want to take one more banana peel? Here. Do you want to eat one more banana peel? And then I'll show them how you pivot. Look at this my big boy pivot in here he feels fine now if I were to pick up his back legs he'd be like no ma'am we are not doing that so now you know lizards can pivot on their back legs and they feel fully secure still because they feel like they're still in charge where if you pick up their back legs they're obviously I mean kind of the same as us if you were to think of these as our front legs and these meaning our hands as our front legs and our legs as our stabilizers if you pick up up our arms we feel fine we can move around but if you're going to pick up my legs like I'm not going to feel good about it so kind of nice within that. Jolly, you want to go back to your enclosure? There might be one more banana waiting there for you. Yeah, what are you thinking? One last little scrubbers. One last little scrubs on your nose. Let's see. You got a little bit of shed there on the side. You gotta have a pre scrub and a post scrub when it comes to eating. Just got one more. That little pesky guy right under his eye. I could tell you it was annoying him but there you go. Our sweet little Jolly Green. He ate with us. He bathed with us. Now, we're just going to go relax. Um they loaded everything.

The Leatherback: A Real-Life Prehistoric Giant!
This magnificent creature is the LARGEST living turtle species on Earth! The Leatherback Sea Turtle can reach lengths of over 8 feet and weigh up to a whopping 1,100 pounds. Unlike other sea turtles, they don't have a hard shell. Instead, their backs are covered in thick, leathery skin, which is how they get their name! This special adaptation allows them to dive deeper than any other reptile - over 4,000 feet! These gentle giants are also incredible travelers, migrating thousands of miles across the ocean each year. They're important for the environment, munching on jellyfish and keeping their populations in check. ! #LeatherbackSeaTurtle #SeaTurtle #OceanGiant #EndangeredSpecies #NatureIsAmazing #TurtlePower

They get so big and grow so old because they have no predators on Galapagos island. When they aren’t hunted for prey they evolve to grow these massive sizes 😯🐢 • • • • • • • • #wow #wildlife #cute #awesome #tortoise #animals #animallovers #reels #reptiles #reptilesofinstagram #animalofinstagram #reptilelovers #reptilekeeper #zoo #zooanimals #openlygayanimals"
