Investing
I started investing my money in index funds in 2016, so I got a late start in life. It's one of the best things I've done. I have hope and a plan for my future, so that one day I have more financial freedom than I have now.
Update: I've sold all of my stocks and currently hold only cash. The reasons for this are many, including that I now day trade and need the liquidity for that, as well as the practical of moving my entire life overseas to fully commit to livng in the EU over the USA.
These are three books that got me started on this journey:
- Rich Dad Poor Dad by Robert Kiyosaki
- Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill
- Money Master the Game by Tony Robbins
Decisions
- I do not read any news, and I haven't for several years now. This has been one of the best decisions of my life, improving my mental health an immeasurable amount. Update: I recently started reading the news again. I felt pretty quickly that it was degrading my mental well-being, so I stopped again.
- I've moved to free and open-source software (FOSS) for everything.. I actually can't think of a single piece of software I use anymore that is not FOSS. I feel good supporting something other than massive, global companies, and I'm happy I made this decision. The only non-FOSS software I still use is macOS, though this is likely my last Mac.
