Bloom with Happiness

Hallo Ihr Lieben!

Eigentlich verbindet man mit Sonnenblumen ja eher den Herbst, aber auf dem Weg zu/von der Arbeit fahre ich momentan an einigen leuchtenden Sonnenblumenfeldern vorbei. Und die waren dann auch die Inspiration für meine heutige Karte.

Usually we have fall in mind when we think of sunflowers. But on my way to/from work I am passing a few bright sunflower fields right now. And those were the inspireation for today's card.

 

Das Sunflower Garden Stempelset von SimonSaysStamp hatte es mir schon länger angetan, der Stempel ist einfach wundervoll. Und zudem riesig - auf meine normal große Karte hat er bei bestem Willen nicht komplett gepasst. Aber so kann man mit dem selben Motiv, je nach Wahl des Ausschnitts, immer unterschiedliche Karten designen (oder mit einem gestempelten Motiv gleich zwei Karten füllen). 

Ich habe hier einen Ausschnitt des Motivs auf ein Stück weißen Cardstocks gestempelt - und da ich in No-Line Technik colorieren wollte dafür das Jellyfish Stempelkissen von LawnFawn benutzt.

 

I have been eyeing with the Sunflower Garden stamp set by SimonSaysStamp for quite some time, it's such an amazing image. And also gigantic - it will never fit completly onto a regular sized card. But this way you can create differently looking cards with the same image, depending on what portion of the image you use (or even fill two cards with just one stamped image).

I picked a part of the image and stamped it onto white cardstock, using the Jellyfish ink pad by LawnFawn because I wanted to do some no-line coloring.

 

 Auf eine der Blumen habe ich noch eine kleine dicke Biene aus dem Bee You Stempelset von ColoradoCraft gestempelt - ebenfalls mit dem Jellyfish Stempelkissen. 

Zum Colorieren habe ich dann Copics verwendet und ganz zum Schluss einige feinere Details/Linien mit Polychromos hinzugefügt. Auch den Hintergrund habe ich mit hellblauen Copics eingefärbt - weiß war mir irgendwie zu langweilig. 

Nach dem Colorieren habe ich über den Cardstock ganz fein und eher sparsam weiße Acrylfarbe aufgespritzt.  

 

I stamped a little chunky bee from Bee You by ColoradoCraft onto one of the sunflowers - again using the Jellyfish ink pad.

To color the image I used my Copics and brought in some Polychromos at the very end to add some fine details/lines. I also filled the background with a light blue Copic - white just looked too plain and boring to me.

After I had finished the coloring I added - not too much - fine splatter of white acrylic paint.

 

 Für den Text habe ich ein "bloom" samt Shadow Layer aus dem Great Greetings Spring Stanzenset von HoneyBeeStamps verwendet. Die Schattenlage ist aus Vellum gestanzt, das Wort Bloom habe ich sechsmal aus weißem Cardstock gestanzt. Je 3 davon befinden sich hinter und auf dem Vellum.

Ergänzt wird der Text durch ein winziges "with happiness", das ich mit schwarzer Tinte direkt auf das Motiv gestempelt habe. Ich gebe zu, es ist etwas schwer sichtbar, auch weil es so klein ist. Es ist ein Teile eines Textes aus dem Sunflower Garden Stempelset. Aber ich wollte so wenig wie möglich des Motivs verdecken.

 

For the text I die cut the word "bloom" and its shadow layer from Great Greetings Spring by HoneyBeeStamps. The shadow layer I cut from vellum, the word bloom I cut six times from white cardstock. Three each are stacked under and on top of  the vellum. I completed the text with a tiny "with happiness", that I stamped with black ink directly onto the image. I have to admit, that it's really hard to see, also because it is so small. It's part of a larger/longer text from the Sunflower Garden Set. I really wanted to cover as little of the image as possible.

 

Auf die oberen Enden des Wortes Bloom sowie die Flügel der Biene habe ich Stickles aufgetragen, die Flügel und das Auge der Biene habe ich außerdem mit Glossy Accents überzogen.

Als Deko habe ich drei kleine weiße Herzn auf der Karte verteilt und dann alles auf einen weißen Kartenrohling geklebt.

 

I applied Stickles to the top edge of the word bloom and the bee's wings, her wings and eye I also covered with Glossy Accents. 

I glued three white clay hearts onto the image and then adhered the card panel to a white note card.

Ich hatte sie ja schon angekündigt - die Karte mit all den schimmernden Sternen, die mal wieder übrig geblieben waren. Und hier ist sie!

I had already announced it - the card that I used all those left over shimmery stars on. And here it is!

 Auch diesmal habe ich den Hintergrund mit Distress Ink Stormy Sky, Faded Jeans, Chipped Sapphire und Black Soot gewischt und weiße Acrylfarbe aufgespritzt. 

Und auf der anderen Karte, für die ich die Sterne eigentlich gewerkelt hatte, hatte ich, ohne es zu planen, genau so viele Sterne verwendet, dass die übrigen noch für diese Karte gereicht haben. Hinter der Maus befindet sich ein "Sternenloch" und die komplette fehlende Reihe habe ich hinter dem Hügel, den ich aus schwarzem Cardstock gestanzt habe, versteckt. Den habe ich auch dazu verwendet, um die Karte an das deutsche Format anzupassen. 

Again I used Distress Ink Stormy Sky, Faded Jeans, Chipped Sapphire and Black Soot to ink the background onto a piece of white crdstock, then added splatters of white acrylic paint.

On the other card, that I had made the stars for, I used exactly so many stars - without planing it that way - so the left over stars were just enough for this card. Theres are "star hole" hidden behind the mouse and the complete missing row I've hidden behind the hill, that I die cut from black cardstock. I also used that hill to make the scene a bit longer so it fits a german standard card size.

Die Sterne sind, wie schon erwähnt, mit dem All the Stars Background von MFT aus Cardstock, den ich mit Distress Spirtz Peacock Feathers und Uncharted Mariner besprüht habe, gestanzt. Diesmal habe ich die Sterne mit goldenem Gilding Wax betupf, so passten sie super zum Stern in der Hand der Maus. Ich habe die Sterne mit dünnem 3D Tape hinterlegt und dann in Reihen auf den Hintergrund geklebt. Eine Stelle habe ich dabei freigelassen - das ist der Ort, von dem die Maus gerade den Stern vom Himmel geholt hat. 

The stars, as already mentioned in the previous post, is die cut from a piece of cardstock that I had sprayed with Distress Spritz Peacock Feathers and Uncharted Mariner, using the All the Stars Background die by MFT. This time I dabbed some gold gilding way onto the stars, this way they go great with the star in the mouse's hand.

I backed each star with a piece of thin foam tape and glued them in rows onto the background, leaving a spot empty. This is where the mouse just plucked a star from the sky.

Die Maus ist aus dem Set A Star is Born von ColoradoCraft. Ich fand es einfach super passend, wie die Maus ganz stolz den Stern an sich drückt, als hätte sie ihn gerade mit viel Mühe vom Himmel geholt. Coloriert habe ich sie mit Copics und sie per Hand ausgeschnitten. Den Stern habe ich mit einem klaren Nuvo Shimmer Pen ein wenig beglittert.

Hinter der Maus befindet sich der Big Hugs Circle Frame von MFT, den ich aus Vellum geschnitten habe. 

Und auch das große Congrats unter/vor der Maus ist von MFT. Ich habe es aus irisierendem Vellum gestanzt und von unten mit dem goldenen Gilding Wax betupft. Dann habe ich noch ein kleines "you did it" aus dem Treat Cart Sentiment Add-On von LawnFawn weiß auf schwarzen Cardstock embosst, weiß hinterlegt und dann zusammen mit zwei kleinen weißen Herzen unter das Congrats geklebt. Und dann habe ich mit einem goldenen Gelstift noch eine Art Schatten um das Wort Congrats direkt auf den Hügel gemalt.

The mouse is from the A Star is Born set by CcoloradoCraft. I thought the way she's pressing the star to her breast as if she just plucked it with lots of effort from the sky, was just perfect here. I colored her with Copics and cut her out with my scissors. Onto the star I added some glimmer with a clear Nuvo shimmer pen.

Behind the mouse I placed the Big Hugs Circle Frame by MFT, die cut from vellum.

And also the large congrats under/in front of the mouse is by MFT. I die cut that from iridescent vellum and dabbed some more of the gold gilding wax to the bottom of the word. Then I white heat embossed a "you did it" from the Treat Cart Sentiment Add-On set by LawnFawn onto black cardstock, matted it white and adhered it, together with two white hearts, under the word congrats. I also used a gold gel pen to draw some kind of drop shadow around/under the word congrats, directly onto the black hill.

 

Den Hügel und die Maus habe ich mit dickem 3D Tape hinterlegt. Und am Himmel habe ich dann noch einige goldene Perlen verteilt. Die füllen den Himmel und unterbrechen die geraden Linien ein wenig. Außerdem betonen sie das "Loch" am Himmel noch etwas mehr.

Zum Schluss habe ich dann alles auf einen weißen Kartenrohling geklebt.

The hill and the mouse I backed with thick foam tape. To the sky I added a few gold pearls. Those fill the sky up a bit and interrupt the straight lines. They also make the "whole" in the sky even more noticable.

As the last step I adhered my card panel to a white note card.

Ich bin ja eigentlich nicht der "ich-hebe-jeden-Schipsel-auf"-Typ. Aber wenn es ein kompletter Hintergrund oder Stanzteil ist, dann kann es schon sein, dass ich es gleich auf der nächsten Karte verarbeiten will. Sie in irgendeiner Box zu sammeln klappt bei mir nicht. Entweder nutze ich sie sofort oder sie wandern in den Müll. Hier hatte ich das aus goldenem Metallic Cardstock gestanzte thanks übrig - und das hat dann tatsächlich zu dieser und zwei weiteren Reste-Karten geführt...

I am not the "I-keep-every-leftover-scrap" type of crafter. But when it's a complete background or a die cut, then it can happen that I am going to use it on the next card. I know exactly that I don't need to keep a leftover box - either I use them right away or they will never get used. Here I had the word thanks die cut from gold metallic cardstock left over - and that actually led to this and two more cards using leftovers....

Auf dieser Karte wollte ich eigentlich den All the Stars Background von MFT verwenden und die Sterne in Reih und Glied aufkleben. Damit das einfacher ist, habe ich die Stanze erst benutzt, um die Schneidlinien in ein Stück weißen Cardstock zu drücken. Den habe ich dann mit Distress Ink Stormy Sky, Faded Jeans, Chipped Sapphire und Black Soot eingefärbt. Mit einem Pinsel habe ich weiße Acrylfarbe aufgespritzt.

Dann habe ich mit Glimmerpaste und einem Stencil Strahlen aufgewischt - der Ausgangspunkt liegt im unteren Drittel der Karte, wo später mein Text sein soll. 

Nachdem die Paste trocken war, habe ich meine Pläne über den Haufen geworfen, denn der Hintergrund gefiel mir so gut, dass ich fand, die Sterne würden zu viel davon verdecken.

On this card I wanted to use the All the Stars Background by MFT and glue the stars down in rows. To make that task easier I first used the die to emboss the cutting lines into a piece of white cardstock. Then I inked it with Distress Ink Stormy Sky, Faded Jeans, Chipped Sapphire and Black Soot. Using a brush I splattered on some white acrylic paint.

Then I used a rays stencil and glimmer paste to add rays to the background - the center is in the lower third of the card, where I wanted my text to be later.

After the paste had dried I changed my plans because I really liked the background and thought, the stars would cover too much of it.

 

 Also habe ich erstmal meinen Text aufgeklebt. Der ist mit der Giant Outlined Thanks Stanze von LawnFawn gemacht und besteht aus dem schon erwähten Übrigbleibsel, gestanzt aus matt-goldenem Metallic Cardstock. Außerdem befinden sich dahinter 4 weiße Lagen und die Schattenlagen, die ich zwischen die goldene und die weißen Lagen geklebt habe, habe ich aus Vellum gestanzt. 

Und dann habe ich ganz spontan die süße Maus aus dem Set Dream Big von ColoradoCraft als Motiv benutzt. Und dazu passte dann der kleine "you're a star" aus dem Super Star Set von LawnFawn perfekt. Ich habe ihn mit goldenem Embossingpulver auf schwarzen Cardstock embosst.

So I started with the text. I made that using the Giant Outlined Thanks die by LawnFawn. It's put together from the already mentioned left over die cut from matte gold metallic cardstock and four more white layers, that I backed the gold die cut with. The shadow layer, that I adhered between the gold and the white layers, I cut from vellum.

And then I brought out this cute mouse from the Dream Big set by ColoradoCraft. The little "you're a star" text from the Super Star set by LawnFawn just went perfect with it. I gold heat embossed it onto black cardstock.

Die kleine Maus auf dem Stern habe ich mit Copics coloriert, ausgeschnitten und auf den gestanzten Text gesetzt.

Und dann habe ich doch noch zumindest einige der Sterne an ihrem Platz aufgeklebt. Dafür habe ich erst ein weiteres Stück weißen Cardstocks mit Distress Spritz Peacock Feathers und Uncharted Mariner eingesprüht und nach dem Trocknen daraus die Sterne ausgestanzt. Die Ränder habe ich dann leicht mit dunkeltürkisfarbenem Gilding Wax betont und sie dann auf den Hintergrund geklebt. An die Stelle, auf die die Maus schaut, habe ich einen Stern, den ich aus dem matt-goldenen Metallic Cardstock gestanzt habe, aufgeklebt.

Nunja, Ihr ahnt es vielleicht. Natürlich hatte ich nun jede Menge türkisfarbener Sterne und auch noch das Negativ übrig... Das Negativ habe ich dann für eine meiner Sneak-Karten auf das September-Release von Stampcorner verwendet und Euch bereits gezeigt. Die Karte mit den Sternen folgt dann demnächst...

I colored the little mouse on the star with Copics, cut her out and placed her on top of the die cut text.

And then I added at least a few stars back in their place. So I spritzed another piece of white cardstock with Distress Spritz Peacock Feathers and Uncharted Mariner and die cut the All the Stars Background from it once the cardstock had dried. I dabbed some dark turquoise Gilding Wax onto the stars and adhered them to the background. In the spot the mouse it looking it I added a star that I cut from the matte gold metallic cardstock.

Well, you might already fear it. Of course I had a bunch of turquoise stars and also the negative left over... The negative I used on one of the sneaks for the september release by Stampcorner and already shared that card with you. The card with the stars I will show you in the near future...

Natürlich kam zum Aufkleben der Elemente wieder dünnes 3D Tape zum Einsatz. Und weil der Himmel zwischen den großen Sternen dann doch noch etwas leer wirkte, habe ich einige klar-irisierende Sterne auf der Karte verteilt. Die stechen nicht sofort ins Auge, füllen die Karte aber trotzdem.

Zum Schluss habe ich dann alles - ohne Mattung - auf einen weißen Kartenrohling geklebt. Den breiteren weißen Rand finde ich hier echt klasse - und er ist ein wenig durch die Größe der Hintergrundstanze bedingt, die ja im US-Format gestaltet ist.

Of course I used thin foam tape to adhere the elements. And since the sky looked a bit plain between those large stars I scattered some clear-iridescent star confetti. They don't take a lot of attention but still fill the card.

At the end I glued the card panel - without adding a mat - to a white note card. I love the quite wide white border - and part of the reason why I ended up with it it the american card sized background die.

Eine Karte zur Beförderung

Ich probiere ja immer, einen Bezug zu meinem Job hier auf meinem Blog zu vermeiden. Aber ich denke, heute oute ich mich doch irgendwie. Das ist eine Karte für einen Kollegen, der befördert wurde. Und das wird natürlich gefeiert.

I always try to keep job related things away from my blog. But I guess today everyone will know what I do for a living. This is a card for a co-worker, who was promoted and of course we're celebrating that.

Ich wollte unbedingt eine interaktive Karte machen. Ob der Pull 'n Pop Mechanismus von LawnFawn die glücklichste Lösung war, weiß ich nicht genau, denn der Mechanismus liegt oben auf der Karte auf. Meine andere Idee wäre eine Slider Card gewesen, dann hätte man aber die Form des Sterns gesehen und ich hätte keinen Platz für den versteckten Text, den Ihr später noch seht, gehabt. Also ist es so, wie es jetzt ist, gut und wahrscheinlich bin ich nur einfach mal wieder viel zu selbstkritisch.

Der Hintergrund besteht aus einem Stück schwarzen Cardstocks, den ich von oben her mit Distress Oxide Tumbled Glass, Salty Ocean und Prize Ribbon gewischt habe. Dann habe ich silberne Metallic Watercolor aufgespritzt. So rein farbtechnisch hätte mir ja Gold viel besser gefallen, aber wir wollen ja bei der Realität bleiben.... ;)

Unten auf der Karte habe ich ein Stück weißen Cardstocks aufgeklebt, das ich mit einer Wolken-Bordürenstanze gestanzt habe. Die Maus - bzw. der Mäuserich - konnte ja nicht einfach am Himmel schweben.

I really wanted to make an interactive card. I'm not sure, if this Pull 'n Pop mechanism by LawnFawn was the best option because it lays on top of the card. My other idea was a slider card, but then you'd have seen the shape of the fourth star and I wouldn't have had room for the hidden text, that you'll see a bit later. So I am okay with how the card turned out - and I guess once again I am just way too self-critical.

The background is made from a piece of black cardstock, that I inked from the top with Distress Oxide Tumbled Glass, Salty Ocean and Prize Ribbon. Then I added spatters with silver metallic watercolor. Just as a color combination I would have preferred gold with the blue, but let's keep this card  realistic...! ;)

To the bottom of the card I added a piece of white cardstock that I had cut with a cloud border die. The mouse had to have something to stand on up there in the sky.

Das Motiv ist natürlich unverkennbar von Colorado Craft - und zwar aus dem Stempelset A Star is Born. Ich habe es mit Copics coloriert und ausgeschnitten. Außerdem habe ich Sterne aus diesem Set und aus dem Set Falling Star mit silbernem Embossingpulver auf weißen Cardstock embosst und einfach mit einem silbernen Gelstift ausgemalt, damit sie schön schimmern. 

This image is unmistakable by Colorado Craft - from their A Star is Born set. I colored it with Copics and cut it out. I also heat embossed the stars from this set and the Falling Star set with silver embossing powder onto white cardstock and simply filled them with a silver gel pen to give them a nice shimmer.

Die Maus habe ich auf den Hintergrund geklebt und dann die Sterne am Himmel verteilt. Dazwischen habe ich einige silberne Stern-Konfetti gesetzt. 

Den Text habe ich am PC geschrieben. Ich hatte zwar einen passenden Stempel, der war aber winzig. Also habe ich den Text weiß auf schwarz gedruckt, ausgeschnitten, weiß gemattet und ebenfalls auf den Himmel geklebt.

I adhered the mouse to the background and then added the stars to the sky. Between them I glued down a few silver star confetti.

The text means "reach for the stars". I wanted to have the texts on this card written in german and had it as a stamp, but it was tiny. So I printed it white onto black, cut it out, matted it white and attached it to the sky as well.

Zieht man am Tab unten, klappt der Mechanismus auf und zeigt den zweiten Text auf der Karte. Außerdem ist hier der vierte Stern zu sehen. Rein technisch war es nicht möglich, den letzten Stern in der Reihe zu verstecken - so hätte der Mechanismus nicht funktioniert bzw. ich hätte die Schlitze nicht so nah an den Rand stanzen können. Also ist eben der dritte Stern verdeckt - das Ergebnis zählt schließlich. 

Auch diesen Text habe ich am PC geschrieben, schwarz hinterlegt (damit man in eingeklapptem Cardstock die weiße Rückseite des Papieres nicht sieht) und ihn auf die Klappe geklebt. 

Damit der Mechanismus gut funktioniert, braucht er etwas Platz unter der Karte. Deswegen habe ich den Kartenaufleger mit 3D Tape auf den weißen Kartenrohling geklebt und außerdem die Wolkenbordüre (und somit auch die Maus) mit dünnem 3D Tape befestigt. 

When you pull the tab at the bottom edge of the card it shows the second text on this card, that means "congrats for getting promoted". When the tab is pulled it also reveals the fourth star. Just technically it wasn't able to cover the last star in the row - the mechanism wouldn't have worked/I wouldn't have been able to cut the slits this close to the edge of the card panel. So it's the third star that gets covers - but it's the result, that counts, right?

Also this second text I printed with my computer, glued it onto some black cardstock (to cover the white copy paper so you don't see it when the flap isn't pulled) and attached it to the flap.

To give this mechanism enough room to move, it needs a bit of extra space on the backside. So I used foam tape to adhere the card panel to the white card base. I also used thin foam tape to attach the cloud border and the mouse.

Big Birthday Wishes

Heute zeige ich Euch eine Geburtstagskarte, auf der ich endlich das Big Love Stempelset von ColoradoCraft eingeweiht habe. Das habe  ich mir vor einigen Monaten gekauft und bin bisher einfach nicht dazugekommen.... Und dabei ist das Motiv doch so süß!

Today I am sharing with you a birthday card, that I finally used the Big Love stamp set by ColoradoCraft on. I bought it a few months ago but just didn't have time so far to use it. But it's such a cute image!

Im Hintergrund habe ich hier auf ein Stück weißen Cardstocks mit Distress Oxide Lost Shadow den Pinstripe Background von MFT aufgestempelt. Unten habe ich quer ein Stück braunen Cardstocks als Boden geklebt, auf den ich den Woodplank Background mit brauner Tinte aufgestempelt habe. 

Und dann wollte ich unbedingt ein Mauseloch auf die Karte bringen, in das die Maus die Geschenke tragen kann. Also habe ich einen der Essential Arches von Spellbinders einmal aus schwarzem und einmal aus dunkelgrauem Cardstock gestanzt und leicht versetzt aufeinander geklebt. Das Mauseloch habe ich dann rechts auf den Hintergrund geklebt und den Überstand abgeschnitten. 

For the background I stamped the Pinstripe Background by MFT with Distress Oxide Lost Shadow onto a piece of white cardstock. Across the bottom I glued a strip of brown cardstock, that I had stamped the Woodplank Background onto with brown ink. 

And then I really wanted a mousehole, that the mouse could bring in all those presents. So I die cut one of the Essential Arches by Spellbinders once from black and once from dark grey cardstock and stacked them a bit off. Then I glued them onto the right side of the background and cut off the overhang. 

Die süße Maus ist mit Copics coloriert und dann ausgeschnitten. Zum Stempeln habe ich ausnahmsweise mal mit brauner und nicht mit schwarzer Tinte gestempelt, das gibt einen schönen soften Look.

 Die Lieblingsfarbe von Mäusen ist natürlich käse-gelb und so habe ich verschiedene Gelbtöne zum Colorieren der Geschenke benutzt. Auf einige der Geschenke habe ich mit einem weißen Gelstift ein Muster aufgemalt, die Schleife auf dem obersten Geschenk ist mit einem klaren Gelstift ein wenig beglittert. 

I colored the cute mouse with Copics and cut her out. To stamp the image I did not use black ink, like I usually do, but went with brown. It adds a nice soft touch. 

Of course a mouse's favorite color is a cheesy yellow. So I used different shades of yellow to color the presents. With a white gel pen I added a pattern to a few of the presents, the bow on the big top most present is covered with a bit of clear glitter. 

Mit dem Impact Alphabet Stanzenset von MFT habe ich aus weißem Cardstock die Buchstaben für das Wort BIG ausgestanzt und ebenfalls im Käselook coloriert. 

Die restlichen Texte auf der Karte sind aus dem Occasional Labels Stempelset von MamaElephant und ebenfalls mit brauner Tinte gestempelt. 

Vor dem Mauseloch habe ich noch eine Partygirlande, gemacht mit dem Fishtail Banner Borders Set von LawnFawn, aufgehängt. 

I die cut the letters for the word BIG from white cardstock using the Impact Alphabet die set by MFT, then colored them like cheese.

The other texts on the card are from the Occasional Labels set by MamaElphent and again stamped with brown ink.

I also hung up a party banner in front of the mousehole, made with the Fishtail Banner Borders by LawnFawn.

Die kleinen Texte sowie das Wort BIG sind mit dünnem 3D Tape aufgeklebt, hinter der Maus befindet sich dickes 3D Tape. Als Deko habe ich noch einige goldene Sternkonfetti aufgeklebt und dann den Cardstock auf einen weißen Kartenrohling geklebt.

I used thin foam tape to adhere the small texts and the word BIG, behind the mouse I put some thick foam tape. Then I added a few gold star confetti and adhered the card panel to a white card base.

August Technique Throwback Thursday Challenge

 

Hallo Ihr Lieben!

Ein neuer Monat hat begonnen und somit gibt es auch eine neue Technique Throwback Thursday Challenge in der Share Handmade Kindness Gruppe. Und diesmal wollte ich meine Karte nicht wieder auf den letzten Drücker machen. 

Thema ist diesmal das Video "Creative Use of Sentiments", in dem Jennifer aus einzelnen Textstempeln einen Hintergrund zusammensetzt. Eigentlich dachte ich, das Zusammensetzen würde ewig dauern, aber so wild war es gar nicht. Da hat das Zurückordnen der einzelnen Stempel in ihr passendes Stempelset fast genauso lang gedauert! ;)

A new month has started and so there's also a new Technique Throwback Thursday challenge in the Share Handmade Kindness group. And this time I didn't want to enter my card last minute.

Theme this month is the "Creative Use of Sentiments" video, where Jennifer uses a lot of small text stamps to create her own background. Honestly I thought that putting together the background will take forever. But it wasn't that hard - and putting back the stamps into each of their stamp sets took nearly as long. ;)

 

Hier habe ich im Hintergrund erstmal Geburtstagskerzen auf ein Stück craft farbenen Cardstock gestencilt. Dafür habe ich die Birthday Candles Layering Stencil von PrettyPinkPosh und Distress Oxide Broken China, Wild Honey sowie Hickory Smoke benutzt. Da das mit Hickory Smoke auf die Kerzen gewischte Muster irgendwie unterging, habe ich dann noch ganz leicht Black Soot obenauf gewischt. 

Und dann kam das Zusammensetzen des Hintergrund-Textes. Ich habe ihn mit Stempeln aus den Sets Itty Bitty Birthdays, Itty Bitty Celebrations, Little Birthday Notes und Bitty Birthday Wishes von MFT sowie für die größeren Worte dem Offset Saysings Birthday von LawnFawn zusammengesetzt. Dann habe ich ihn mit dem weißen Yeti Stempelkissen von LawnFawn auf den gestencilten Cardstock gestempelt. Mein craft farbener Cardstock saugt recht stark, deswegen habe ich mehrere Lagen aufeinander gestempelt und die Tinte zwischendurch immer Trocknen lassen. Und die Tatsache, dass ich mir nach den ersten zwei Lagen nicht sicher war, ob das Weiß gut genug sichtbar ist, und deswegen den Text einmal mit Distress Oxide Salvaged Patina auf den bereits weiß gestempelten Text gestempelt habe, war nicht gerade hilfreich. Das Salvaged Patina war auf den Kerzen so gut wie gar nicht sichtbar. Also habe ich noch ein paar weiße Lagen darüber gestempelt, um das helle Türkis wieder zu überdecken. Aber irgendwann war es dann lesbar. 

Um das Gelb der Flammen nochmal aufzugreifen habe ich dann ein wenig gelb-goldene Metallic Watercolor aufgespritzt. 

 

Here I first inked some birthday candles onto a piece of kraft colored cardstock. I used the Birthday Candles Layering stencilset by PrettyPinkPosh and Distress Oxide Broken China, Wild Honey and Hickory Smoke. Since the patterns on the candles, that I inked with Hickory Smoke, were hardly visible, I put a bit of Black Soot on top.

And then I had to put my background text together.  I did it with stamps from the sets Itty Bitty Birthdays, Itty Bitty Celebrations, Little Birthday Notes and Bitty Birthday Wishes by MFT and - for the larger words - the Offset Sayings Birthday stamp set by LawnFawn. Then I stamped it with the white Yeti ink onto the stenciled candles. My kraft colored cardstock soaked in the ink quite a bit, so I had to put down several layers of the white ink, letting the ink dry inbetween. Well, it didn't help that I wasn't sure if the white would be visible enough so after having stamped two layers of white I switched to Distress Oxide Salvaged Patina. But the light aqua wasn't visible on the darker aqua candles - and I had to do a few more layers of white to cover the light aqua again. But then I was finally happy with the result.

To pick up the yellow of the flames again, I flicked just a bit of yellow-ish gold metallic watercolor onto the background.

Als Motiv habe ich mich für den süßen Bären aus dem Set Happy Day von ColoradoCraft verwendet. Allerdings hält er hier statt der Blume den Luftballon, den eigentlich der Hase aus dem Set Birthday Wishing hält. Ich wollte unbedingt einen Luftballon auf der Karte, der Hase hat aber irgendwie nicht richtig gepasst. Also habe ich den Bären gestempelt, dabei die Blume abgedeckt und dann stattdessen den Luftballon - diesmal mit abgedecktem Hasen - abgstempelt. Dann habe ich das Motiv mit Copics coloriert, farblich passend zum craft farbenen Cardstock.

Aus dunkel grau-braunem Cardstock habe ich dann noch einen der Oval Shadows von MFT gestempelt und unter dem Bären als Boden/Schatten aufgeklebt.

As the image I picked the cute bear from the Happy Day set by ColoradoCraft. But instead of the flower I let him hold a balloon, that's from the bunny from the Birthday Wishing set. I really wanted to have a balloon on my card, but the bunny just didn't fit. So I stamped the bear, covering the flower he's holding, and then stamped the balloon - this time covering the bunny - in its place. I used Copics to color the image, trying to make the color match the kraft cardstock in the background.

From some dark greyish-brown cardstock I die cut one of the Oval Shadows by MFT and put it as a ground/shadow under the bear.

Der Text ist wieder aus dem Set Birthday Wishing. Ich habe ihn mehrfach mit der weißen Tinte auf ein weiteres Stück des grau-braunen Cardstocks gestempelt und dann in Streifen geschnitten. Zum Embossen war der Text zu fein - ich habe es probiert, er war nicht mehr lesbar. 

The text is again from the Birthday Wishing stamp set. I stamped it several times with the white ink onto another piece of the grey-ish brown cardstock, then cut it into strips. The text was too fine to heat emboss it - I've tried it and it was hardly legible. 

Den Bären sowie die Textstreifen habe ich dann mit dünnem 3D Tape auf dem Hintergrund befestigt und als Deko ein paar ebenfalls dunkelbraune Pailetten aufgeklebt. Dann habe ich den Cardstock dunkelbraun gemattet und alles auf einem weißen Kartenrohling angebracht.

I used thin foam tape to attach the bear and the text strips to the background and added a few dark brown sequins as decoration. Then I matted my cardstock dark brown and adhered everything to a white note card.

Das ist meine Karte nach dem neuen Sketch, den wir heute beim Stempeleinmaleins für Euch haben.

This is the card I made after the new sketch we are sharing today over at Stempeleinmaleins.

 

 Wenn Ihr Euch den Sketch anschaut, werdet Ihr sehen, dass er eigentlich grafischer mit drei auf der Spitze stehenden Quadraten ist. Mir war so gar nicht nach geradlinig, deswegen habe ich sie durch die Wolken ersetzt. Äh, und den schmalen vertikalen Streifen habe ich tatsächlich erst gesehen, nachdem meine Karte fertig war... 

Für den Hintergrund habe ich ein Stück weißen Cardstocks mit Distress Oxide Squeezed Lemonade, Salvaged Patina, Mermaid Lagoon, Uncharted Mariner und Black Soot gewischt. Da ich durch den Sketch ja ungefährt wusste, wo sich mein Motiv befinden würde, habe ich diesen Bereich als leuchtende Fläche hinter dem Stern gelb gewischt und dann den Nachthimmel drumherum immer dunkler werdend. Nach dem Wischen habe ich Wassertropfen sowie hell-goldene Metallic Watercolor auf den Cardstock gespritzt.

When you take a look at the sketch you'll notice, that it is more graphic with three squares standing on one corner. I didn't feel like making a linear card and so I replaced them with clouds. And well, the thin vertical strip I actually only saw after I had finished my card...

For the background I inked up a piece of white cardstock with Distress Oxide Squeezed Lemonade, Salvaged Patina, Mermaid Lagoon, Uncharted Mariner and Black Soot. Due to the sketch I knew pretty well where my image will be and so I inked this area yellow as a halo for my star, then the nightsky around it getting darker towards the edges. After I had inked up the cardstock, I spritzed some water and some light yellow metallic watercolor onto it.

Das süße Motiv ist der Mini Dream Big Stempel von ColoradoCraft. Ich habe ihn mit Copics coloriert und per Hand ausgeschnitten. Den Stern habe ich zudem mit klarem Wink of Stella beglittert. 

Die Wolken sind mit der Puffy Clouds Stanze von MFT aus Vellum gestanzt. Mit dünnem 3D Tape habe ich die Maus auf dem Stern an den Wolken befestigt und dann an diesen Stellen hinter die Wolken ebenfalls 3D Tape gesetzt und sie festgeklebt.

Der große Stern, den sich die Maus so fasziniert ansieht, ist von aus dem Stanzenset Traditional Stars von MemoryBox und aus goldenem Spiegelcardstock gestanzt. Dann habe ich ihn ebenfalls mit 3D Tape auf den Hintergrund geklebt.

The cute image is the mini stamp Dream Big by ColoradoCraft. I colored it with Copics, fuzzy cut it and put some clear Wink of Stella on top of the star.

The clouds are die cut from vellum using the Puffy Clouds die set by MFT. I attached the mouse with thin foam tape to the stars, then put more foam tape behind the image and the cloud areas that are covered by it and then adhered them to the card.

The large star the mouse is looking at so fascinated is from the Traditional Stars die set by MemoryBox and cut from gold mirror cardstock. Then I attached it with foam tape as well.

In dem kleinen Stempelset ist auch ein Dream Big Text enthalten, das Big war mir hier aber zu klein. Also habe ich nur das Dream mit goldenem Embossingpulver auf schwarzen Cardstock embosst. Dann habe ich die Buchstaben für das Wort Big wieder aus goldenem Spiegelcardstock und zusätzlich einen kleinen Stern mit einer Stanze von Magnolia gestanz. Dann habe ich alle Textteile mit dickem 3D Tape aufgeklebt.

 

In the mini stamp set there is also a Dream Big text included, but the word big was too small for this card. So I only gold heat embossed the word dream onto black cardstock. Then I die cut the letters for the word Big and a additionl little star using a die by Magnolia from gold mirror cardstock and adhered the text with thick foam tape to the card.

 

 Da ich von Anfang an eine schwarze Mattung für diese Karte nicht nötig fand, habe ich den Cardstock ein wenig größer geschnitten und ihn nach dem Dekorieren nur noch auf einen weißen Kartenrohling geklebt.

Und hier könnt Ihr den Schein der aufgespritzen Metallic Watercolor, des Spiegelcardstocks sowie den Glitter auf dem Stern besser sehen.

Since I decided before cutting the cardstock that a black mat wouldn't be necessary with this dark backtround I had cut the cardstock a bit larger and then only attached it to a white note card.

And here you can see the shine of the gold metallic watercolor and then mirror cardstock and also the glitter on the star a lot better.

Na, seid Ihr bereit für eine weitere Karte mit einem Motiv von ColoradoCraft? Heute habe ich einen weiteren Hamster mit Kleeblatt verwendet.

Are you ready for another card with an image by ColoradoCraft? This time I used another hamster with clover.

Eigentlich wollte ich eine eher einfache Karte machen, aber ich war mit dem Hintergrund nicht zufrieden. Deswegen habe ich ihn kleiner geschnitten und später auf einen Flat Shaker gesetzt. Dafür habe ich dunkelgrünen Cardstock als Basis verwendet und ihn mit hellgrünen ausgestanzten Kleeblättern und goldenen Pailetten gefüllt. 

I had planned to make a more simple card, but then I didn't like my background. So I cut it down and put it onto a flat shaker. For that, I cut a base from dark green cardstock and fillet the shaker with little clovers punched from light green cardstock and gold sequins.

Für die Szene habe ich die Kleeblattwiese des zweiten Motives aus dem Set Four Leaf Clover mit grauer Tinte auf weißen Cardstock gestempelt und dabei den Hamster, der eigentlich im Klee sitzt, maskiert. Die Wiese habe ich dann mit grüner Tinte und darüber blauen Himmel gewischt. Anschließend habe ich pinkfarbene Metallic Watercolor aufgespritzt. Die einzelnen Kleeblätter in der Wiese habe ich dann mit Polychromos noch etwas nachcoloriert, damit sie besser erkennbar sind.

Den süßen Hamster habe ich ebenfalls mit Copics coloriert und an die Stelle des anderen Hamsters in den Klee geklebt. Die Flügel der Libelle habe ich mit Stickles überzogen.

Außerdem habe ich die einzelnen Kleeblätter aus dem Set mehrere Male abgestempelt, mit Copics coloriert und ausgeschnitten. Die habe ich dann in drei Ebenen aufgeklebt - hinten direkt auf den Hintergrund, in der Mitte mit dünnem und unten/vorne mit dickem 3D Tape. 

Rund um die Szene habe ich einen dünnen goldenen Rahmen gesetzt. Dafür habe ich eine der Stitched Rectangle Frames von Create a Smile dreimal aus weißem Cardstock und einmal aus goldenem Spiegelcardstock gestanzt, alle aufeinander geklebt und dann auf dem  Hintergrund befestigt. 

Neben den kleinen Hamster habe ich dann noch zwei kleine pinkfarbene Herzen gesetzt.

For the scene I stamped the clover meadow from the second image of the Four Leaf Clover set with grey ink onto white cardstock. I masked off the hamster, that's originally sitting in the meadow, to place a different image there later. Then I inked the meadow with green and above it a sky with blue ink and spritzed some pink metallic watercolor over the cardstock. I used my Polychromos to accent the individual clovers in the meadow a bit, to make them better noticable. 

The cute hamster I colored with Copics and glued it into the place where the other hamster is sitting in the meadow. The dragonfly's wings are covered with Stickles. 

I also stamped the individual clovers from the set several times, colored them with Copics and cut them out. I attached those on three different levels - in the background directly to the cardstock, in the middle with thin and in the foreground with thick foam tape.

Around the scene I placed a gold frame. I cut one of the Stitched Rectangle Frames by Create a Smile three times from white cardstock and once from gold mirror cardstock. Then I stacked them and adhered them to the background.

Next to the little hamster I placed two small pink hearts.

Als Text habe ich nur ein großes Glück aufgebracht. Ich habe dafür die Glück Insert Stanze von Kulricke aus schwarzem Cardstock gestanzt und ausgeschnitten. Damit der schwarze Streifen nicht zu breit wird, habe ich die Ü-Punkte mit weggeschnitten und durch zwei weitere kleine Kleeblätter ersetzt. Dann habe ich goldenen Spiegelcardstock hinter den Cardstock gesetzt und ihn leicht schräg quer über den Rahmen geklebt.

As the image I just went with a large luck. I die cut the word from black cardstock and cut it out. Since the strip would have been too large with the dots on the U I cut those off as well and replaced them with another two small clovers. Then I put some gold mirror cardstock behind the black cardstock strip and attached it a bit slanted onto the frame and across the card.

Den Cardstock mit den Motiven habe ich dann oben auf meinen Shaker und dann alles auf einen weißen Kartenrohling geklebt. Von den Kleeblättern im Shaker kann man immer nur Teile sehen, aber ich finde, das macht nichts, da man sie nach wie vor erkennen kann.

I adhered the cardstock with the images on top of my shaker and then attached everything to a white note card. You can only see parts of the clovers in the shaker, since they are too large to be seen fully, but I don't mind and think, they are still recognizable as clovers.

Ich hatte Euch ja bereits "mehr davon" angekündigt - hier ist nun also die nächste Karte mit einem ColoradoCraft-Motiv. Ich hatte (fast) alle gleich beim Eintreffen der Stempel abgestempelt und jetzt liegen sie da auf meinem Schreibtisch und schreien nach Farbe... ;) Diesmal war der Bär aus dem Set Happy Day dran.

I already announced "more of these" - and here it is, another card with an image by ColoradoCraft. I had stamped most of them immediately after recieving the stamps and now they are all there on my desk, screaming for color... ;) For today's card I used the bear from the Happy Day stamp set.

Die Karte ist bewusst einfach gehalten, so kommt das Motiv schön zur Geltung. Und ganz ehrlich, ich finde, diese Karte würde sogar für einen Mann passen.

I kept this card pretty clean to make the  image the star of the show. And honestly, I think this card would even be a great one for a man.

Für den Hintergrund habe ich das Rechteck aus dem Painted Shapes Stempelset von Concord and 9th verwendet. Eigentlich wollte ich das Herz benutzen, das ging mit dem Motiv aber irgendwie so gar nicht zusammen. Also habe ich auf das Rechteck umgeschwenkt und es mit den Farben Misty Morning, Cloudy Sky und Nimbus aus dem Tranquility Mini Ink Cube Set von Altenew abgestempelt. Dabei habe ich die Farbe so aufgetragen, dass ein schöner Farbübergang entsteht. Die weißen Stellen auf der Fläche und die unsauberen Ränder sind bewusst in den Stempel eingefügt - er soll ja wie kurz mal mit Watercolors gestaltet aussehen. Anschließend habe ich nur rechts, links und oberhalb des Rechtecks auf einem schmalen Streifen etwas grau-blaue Metallic-Watercolor afugespritzt. 

Da ich immer ein wenig Abwechslung brauche, habe ich den Bären hier mal mit Polychromos coloriert. Damit kann man besonders das Fell so toll realistisch colorieren. An den unteren Rand des Rechtecks habe ich nur das Gras, das sich hinter dem Bären befindet, abgestempelt und ebenfalls mit Polychromos ganz einfach eingefärbt. Dann habe ich den Bären ausgeschnitten und mit 3D Tape auf den Hintergrund geklebt.

Für den Text habe ich die beiden kleinen Texte mit dem Occasional Labels Stempelset von MamaElephant und schwarzer Tinte auf weißen Cardstock gestempelt und mit dünnem 3D Tape aufgeklebt. 

Das Wort Love ist mit einer Stanze von MFT gemacht - einmal aus schwarzem, dreimal aus hellblauem Cardstock. Ich habe  die einzelnen Buchstaben aufeinander und anschließend auf den Hintergrund geklebt.

Und weil irgendwie noch etwas fehlte, habe ich noch drei winzige Wölkchen am Himmel verteilt.

For the background I used the rectangle from the Painted Shapes stamp set by Concord and 9th. I had planned to use the heart from this set, but that just didn't work with the image. So I changed to the rectangle and stamped it with Misty Morning, Cloudy Sky and Nimbus from the Tranquility  Mini Ink Cube set by Altenew. I stamped the colors slightly overlapping to get a nice blending between the colors. The white spots in the rectangle and also the "wonky" edges are how the stamp is designed - it's meant to look like a rectangle, quickly painted with watercolors. Then I spritzed a bit of  grey-blue metallic watercolor only to the area to the left, right  and top of the rectangle.

Since I need a little change every now and then I brought out my Polychromos to color the image in. With those it's pretty easy to color the fur very realistic. To the bottom of the rectangle I stamped the grass that's behind the bear and then just colored  it in with Polychromos as well. Then I cut the bear out and attached it to the background with foam tape.

For the text I stamped the two small texts from the Occasional Labels stamp set by MamaElephant with black ink onto white cardstock and adhered them with thin foam tape.

The word love is die cut using a die by MFT - once from black and three times from blue cardstock. I stacked the letters and attached them to the background.

And since it felt like there was something missing on the card I also added three tiny clouds to the sky.

Eigentlich wollte ich hier den Schimmer der Watercolors für Euch einfangen - ich muss mich wohl erst wieder an Sonne und Helligkeit beim Fotografieren gewöhnen. Dafür könnt Ihr hier die verschiedenen Ebenen und die Tiefe, die die Karte dadurch erhält, gut erkennen.

I wanted to show the shimmer of the watercolor on this picture - seems like I need to get used to sunshine and longer daylight time again, at least when it comes to taking photos of my cards. But at least you get a pretty good look at the different layers and the depth, they add to the card.

Vielleicht habt Ihr es schon bemerkt - ich bin gerade dabei, meine erstandenen ColoradoCraft Stempelsets einzuweihen und ausgiebig zu nutzen. Deswegen gibt es heute eine weitere Karte mit den süßen Motiven von Anita Jeram. Und Ihr könnt Euch schon mal auf weitere in naher Zukunft einstellen.

You might have noticed it already - I am currently using all those ColoradoCraft stamp sets I just got. And so I am sharing another card with the cute images by Anita Jeram today. And you can expect more of them the coming days or weeks...

Für den Hintergrund habe ich allerdings den Birthday Balloons Bold Stempel von HeroArts verwendet. Ich habe ihn weiß auf Watercolor Cardstock embosst, mir einen passenden Ausschnitt ausgesucht und ihn dann mit ZIG Markern coloriert. Den Himmel habe ich einfach ganz rudimentär in hellblau und relativ viel Wasser eingefärbt. Die Ballone habe ich alle grün und die Konfetti gold-gelb "coloriert". Dann habe ich einen der Stempel aus dem Set Greener Grass von ColoradoCraft abgestempelt und von unten her mit Distress Ink Mowed Lawn eingefärbt - unten dunkler, oben heller. Damit die Fläche zumindest ein wenig Struktur erhält, habe ich etwas Wasser aufgespritzt. Das Gras habe ich dann  per Hand ausgeschnitten und mit dünnem 3D Tape auf den Himmel voller Ballons geklebt.

For the background I used the Birthday Balloons Bold stamp by HeroArts though. I white heat embossed it onto a piece of watercolor cardstock, picked the area I liked best and then colored it with my ZIG markers. I just did a watercolor wash with a light blue and lots of water to color in the sky. The balloons I colored green and all the confetti golden yellow. 

Then I used a stamp from the Greener Grass stamp set by ColoradoCraft, stamped it onto a piece of white cardstock and inked it with Distress Ink Mowed Lawn - darker at the bottom and lighter towards the grass. To give the panel at least some structure I flicked on some water. Then I fuzzy cut it out and adhered it to the sky full of balloons with some thin foam tape.

Der süße Hase mit Ballon und auch der kleine Hamster sind aus dem Set Birthday Wishing. Ich habe beide Motive mit Copics coloriert, ausgeschnitten und auf den Hintergrund geklebt. Hinter dem Luftballon habe ich dabei dickes, an den Füßen der Tiere dünnes 3D Tape verwendet, um den Höhenunterschied zum bereits erhöht aufgeklebten Gras auszugleichen.

The cut bunny with the balloon and the little hamster are from the Birthday Wishing stamp set. I colored both images with Copics, cut them out and then attached them to the background. I used thick foam tape behind the balloon and thin foam tape behind the critters' feet to level out the different of height of the sky and the grass, that I used foam tape behind already.

Für den Text habe ich das Wort Congrats mit einer Stanze von MFT zweimal aus schwarzem Cardstock gestanzt, die Teile aufeinander geklebt und dann alles so auf das Gras geklebt, dass es so aussieht, als ständen die Tiere auf dem Wort. Ich hatte überlegt, die obere die Lage des Wortes in einer anderen Farbe zu stanzen, aber schwarz hat mir einfach am besten gefallen. Alles andere hätte zu sehr von den Motiven abgelenkt.

Auch den kleineren Text darunter aus dem Bitty Birthday Wishes Stempelset von MFT habe ich daher - mit weißem Embossingpulver - auf schwarzen Cardstock embosst und wiederum mit dünnem 3D Tape auf das Gras geklebt.

For the text I die cut the words congrats twice form black cardstock, using a die by MFT. Then I stacked the words and attached them to the grass, making it look like the two critters are standing on top of it. I had thought about cutting the word from a different color of cardstock but liked black the best - all the other colors took the attention away from the images.

That's also why I decided to heat emboss the smaller text onto black cardstock, too. It's from the Bitty Birthday Wishes stamp set by MFT and I heat embossed it with white embossing powder. Then I used the thinner foam tape again to adhere it to the grass.

Auf der Karte ist bereits jede Menge los. Deswegen habe ich auf weitere Deko verzichtet und nur noch alles schwarz gemattet und dann auf einen weißen Kartenrohling geklebt.

There's already a lot going on on this card. So I decided against any additional embellishments and just added a black mag before attaching everything to a white note card.
