Hallo Ihr Lieben!

Ich liebe ja interaktive Karten. Als ich dann die Big Mouth Slider Stanze von HeroArts sowie die passende Nussknacker-Ergänzung gesehen habe, war ich sehr angetan. Zuerst konnte ich noch widerstehen  - wie oft macht man jetzt eine Nussknackerkarte? - aber je mehr ich darüber nachdachte, desto mehr Ideen kamen mir. Und weil man dann Teile des Nussknackers auch gut für andere Karten benutzen kann, habe ich mir das Bundle bestellt. 

Heute habe ich eine Art Prototyp damit zu zeien, den ich gemacht habe, um zu sehen, ob meine Idee funktioniert. Und wenn schon, dann machen wir doch gleich nicht nur eine sondern zwei Designvarianten, oder?

I love interactive cards. When I saw the Big Mouth Slider die and the matching nutcracker Add-On by HeroArts I was really intrigued. At first I was able to hold back - how many nutcracker cards do you make each year? - but the more I thought about it the more ideas I had. And since those nutcracker details might come in really handy here I ordered the bundle.

Today I am sharing with you some kind of test card that I made to see if my idea works. And while I'm at it why not make two instead of one versions, right?

 

 Darf ich vorstellen: Frankenstein. Ja, ich weiß, so richtig perfekt ist er vom Design her nicht geworden, das ist aber auch ein wenig im Mechanismus der Stanze begründet. Und hey, wer hat eigentlich gesagt, dass Frankenstein super wohl-proportioniert war? 

Ich habe hier die Karte aus grünem Cardstock gewerkelt, den ich mit etwas Distress Ink Mowed Lawn und Rustic Wilderness gewischt habe. 

Den Körper des Nussknackers habe ich aus cremefarbenem Cardstock gestanzt und mit Distress Ink Antique Linen gewischt. Dann habe ich den unteren Teil der Arme abgeschnitten und alles mit einem grünen Stanzteil hinterlegt, so dass es aussieht wie ein T-Shirt. Auf dem habe ich dann noch einige braune Flicken verteilt. 

Die Haare habe ich frei Hand mit der Schere aus schwarzem Cardstock  geschnitten.  

Und das Gesicht ist mit Stanzen aus dem Big Mouth Nutcracker Set entstanden. Ich habe die ovalen Kreise für die Pupillen zusätzlich aus grünem Cardstock gestanzt und damit die Nasenflügel gestaltet. Außerdem habe ich die großen Kreise für die Backen ebenfalls aus grünem Cardstock gestanzt, halbiert und als Augenlider aufgeklebt. Die aus schwarzem Cardstock gestanzten Augenbrauen habe ich bewusst vertauscht aufgeklebt, so passten sie hier einfach besser.

Mit roter Kreide habe ich Bäckchen aufgetragen und mit Copics die klassischen Narben sowie ein paar Falten unter den Augen aufgemalt.

Auf die Zähne habe ich mit einem silbernen Gelstift eine Zahnspange aufgemalt. Die Schrauben seitlich am Kopf sind eigentlich T, die ich aus matt-silbernem Metallic-Cardstock gestanzt und gedreht angeklebt habe. 

Und dann brauchte die Karte noch einen Tab für den Ziehmechanismus. Beim Nussknacker ist das der Bart, der passt aber nicht zu Frankenstein. Also habe ich ihm eine große rote Zunge angeklebt, die er ganz frech weit herauszustrecken scheint. Ich habe sie einfach frei Hand geschnitten und mit Copics etwas schattiert. 

Zieht man am Tab, dann öffnet sich der Mund und ein Text oder kleineres Motiv kommt zum Vorschein. Zumindest ist das, wie die Stanze gemacht ist. Aber hier kommt meine Idee ins Spiel. 

 

May I introduce you to Mr. Frankenstein? Yes, I know, he's not really perfect designwise, but that's also because of the mechanism included here. And hey, who said Mr. Frankenstein is that well-proportioned?

I created the card from green cardstock that I inked with Distress Ink Mowed Lawn and Rustic Wilderness. 

I die cut the body from the nutcracker set from cream cardstock and inked it with Antique Linen. Then I cut off the bottom of the arms and put a green die cut behind it. Now it looks like Mr. Frankenstein is wearing a shirt with short sleeves. I also added some brown patches to the shirt.

The hair I cut free hand from black cardstock with my scissors.  

And the face I created using elements from the Big Mouth Nutcracker set. I die cut the ovals for the eyes again from green cardstock and used them to create the nostrils. I also die cut the larger circles, that are meant to be the cheeks, from green cardstock, cut them in half und created some eyelids from them. The eyebrows, that I cut from black cardstock, I glued on switched on purpose, that just fit Mr. Frankenstein better. 

I added some red cheeks with chalk and added the scars and a few wrinkles under the eyes with green Copics.

With a silver gel pen I drew braces onto the teeth. The screws at the side of the head are made using a T letter die, cutting it twice from matte silver metallic cardstock and glueing them on turned sideways. 

And then the card needed a pull tab for the mechanism. With the nutcracker his beard is used as the tab but that doesn't go with Mr. Frankenstein. So I created a large red tongue, that he's sticking out at us. I cut it free hand again and shaded it with Copics.

 When you pull the tab the mouth opens and reveals a sentiment or smaller image. At least that's how the die is designed. But here's where my idea comes in play: 

 

 Auch hier öffnet sich Frankensteins Mund, wenn man an der Zunge zieht. Aber im Mund hat er dann etwas Süßes versteckt! Ich glaube, das ist eine wirklich süße und auch kreative Idee, um eine Halloween-Süßigkeit zu verpacken. Ich hatte nichts anderes da, also habe ich ein Tütchen Gummibärcheni im Mund versteckt. 

Tja, und wie habe ich das jetzt gemacht? Ich habe in Fenster in den Cardstock hinter dem Mechanismus geschnitten, genau dort, wo sich der Mund öffnet. Dahinter befindet sich eine kleine, oben offene Box. Die ist hier nur 1cm hoch und das reicht vollkommen für die kleinen Gummibärchen. Die Box hat seitlich Laschen, mit denen ich sie hinter dem Ausschnitt befestigt habe. 

 

Also on my card the mouth opens when you pull Mr. Frankenstein's tongue. But he has some candy hidden in his mouth! I think, that's  a cute and creative idea to warp up some Halloween candy. I didn't have anything at hand so I used a small bag of gummybears here.

And how did I do that? I cut a window into the cardstock behind the mechanism, right where the mouth opens. Behind that there's a small box with an open top. It's only 1 cm in height but that's enough for those gummy candy. I created some flaps at the sides of the box and used those to glue the box behind/around the window. 

 

 Und damit die "Karte" auch nach dem Herausnehmen der Süßigkeiten noch gut aussieht, habe ich in den Mund einen Halloweengruß gestempelt. Der ist aus dem Set Ghostly Greetings von MFT und weiß embosst. Die Box, in der sich die Süßigkeit befindet und die nun hier sichtbar ist, habe ich aus rotem Cardstock gemacht und mit Copics leicht schattiert. 

 

And to make the "card" look nice even after taking out the candy I stamped a Halloween greeting into the mouth. It's rom Ghostly Greetings by MFT and white heat embossed. The box, that I put the candy in and that's visible in the mouth window here, I made from red cardstock and shaded it with lightly with Copics.

 

 

Und hier habe ich noch eine Mumien-Variante.

Hier habe ich alle Teile aus weißem Cardstock gestanzt. Auf die obersten Lagen habe ich dann mit der Mummy Wrap Stencil von SimonSaysStamp und Distress Ink Antique Linen und Frayed Burlap Mumien-Streifen aufgewischt. Der Stencil ist im Slimline-Format und hat meine Kartenfront nicht komplett abgedeckt. Also habe ich sie seitlich nochmal angesetzt. Man sieht die Ränder etwas, aber bei einer Mumie ist das wohl nicht so schlimm. Anschließend habe ich braune Metallic-Watercolor aufgespritzt.

Einige der Felder im Muster habe ich herausgeschnitten und die Bereiche dahinter mit Copics grünlich coloriert, so als würde hier die Haut der Mumie zu sehen sein. 

Die Augen bestehen aus zwei Kreisen, die ich mit Copics coloriert habe. Auf die Augäpfel habe ich dann mit einem roten Fineliner einige Adern aufgemalt. 

Da ich einen Pull Tab brauchte, kam mir die Idee, hier ein Stück der Bandagen der Mumie zu benutzen. Aus Papier sah das aber doch sehr eigenartig aus. Also habe ich weißes Band mit Antique Linen und Frayed Burlap betupft, die Ränder mit den Fingernägeln aufgeribbelt und mittig einen Knoten gemacht. Den habe ich dann auf die "Klappe" geklebt. Und damit das nicht das einzige Stück Band ist, habe ich noch ein paar Stücke um die Karte gewickelt. Das Band ist übrigens ein Nahtband aus meinem Näh-Fundus. 

 

And then I made a mummy version.

I die cut all pieces from white cardstock. Then I used the Mummy Wrap stencil by SimonSaysStamp and Distress Ink Antique Linen and Frayed Burlap to stencil some mummy stripes to the top layers. The stencil has a slimline size so it didn't cover my whole card front. So I tried to line up the stencil at the sides again as good as possible. You can see the seams a bit but I don't really mind here with the mummy. I then splattered brown Metallic-Watercolor onto the cardstock pieces.

I used a cutter to cut out some pieces from the mummy wrap and colored the areas behind it in a green-ish tone using my Copics, just like the mummy's skin is visible here.

The eyes I made from two circles that I colored with Copics, too. I added a few fine veins using a red fineliner.

Since I needed a pull tab I had the idea of using some kind of loose mummy wrap. But when I tried to make it from paper it looked kind of strange. So I dabbed some Antique Linen and Frayed Burlap onto some white ribbon, opened the edges with my fingernails and tied a knot in the center. This knot I glued onto the slider. To make sure that's not the only ribbon on the card I wrapped a few more pieces around the front. This ribbon is some kind of seam ribbon that I pulled from my sewing stuff.

 

 Auch hier befindet sich hinter dem Slider eine kleine Box, in die natürlich wieder etwas Süßes passt. Das Foto damit habe ich mir hier aber gespart.

Die Box habe ich diesmal aus grünem Cardstock gemacht und wieder mit Copics schattiert. Dann habe ich ein Peek-a-Boo aus dem Halloween Mice Stempelset von Impronte d'Autore weiß auf den Boden der Box embosst.

 

And again there's a little box behind the slider in which you can put some candy. I skipped taking a picture with the candy in, tough.

Here I made the box from green cardstock and shaded it with Copics. Then I white heat embossed a Peek-a-Boo from Halloween Mice by Impronte d'Autore  onto the bottom of the box.

Vor kurzem habe Euch ja schon eine Karte mit der Cafetiera-Stanze von HeroArts gezeigt, heute folgt eine weitere. Und mit der holen wir uns Italien ins Haus. Denn auch wenn Cafetieras inzwischen überall auf der Welt genutzt werden, ich muss bei ihrem Anblick einfach immer an Italien denken.

A little ago I've shared a card with you, on which I used the Stovetop Espresso die by HeroArts, today I have another one. And with this one, we're bringing Italy into our home. Of course those Cafetieras get used all over the world, but whenever I see one I think of Italy. 

 

Auf dieser Karte habe ich Produkte diverser Firmen kombiniert. 

Der Hintergrund besteht aus helltürkis farbenem Cardstock, in den ich mit der Woodgrain Texture Stanze von WaffleFlower eine Holzmaserung geprägt habe. Dann habe ich die passenden Stencils aufgelegt und die Texture mit Distress Ink Weathered Wood, Hickory Smoke und Scorched Timber aufgewischt. Ich wollte, dass es so aussieht, als hätte jemand eine Wand aus altem Treibholz gebaut. Das Meer ist ja nicht weit. 

Und passend zum Kaffee-Thema habe ich dann noch den Coffee Drinks Stencil von SimonSaysStamp aufgelegt und mit Scorched Timber die Kaffee-Worte aufgetragen. Gerade so, als hätte jemand seine Treibholzwand in der Küche mit einem Stencil dekoriert. 

 

I combined several brands on this card.

The background is made from light aqua cardstock. I cut the Woodgrain Texture by WaffleFlower into it, then used the matching stencils and Distress Ink Weathered Wood, Hickory Smoke and Scorched Timber to add the details to the stitched pattern. I wanted it to look like someone covered the wall with old drift wood. The ocean isn't that far away...

And going with the coffee theme of the card I used the Coffee Drinks stencils by SimonSaysStamp and Scorched Timber to add the words. Just like someone decorated their drift wood kitchen wall with the words.

 

Aus der Mitte des Hintergrunds habe ich ein Rechteck geschnitten und dahinter eine Landschaft in der Toskana gesetzt. Die ist einfach mit Distress Ink Tumbled Glass, Salty Ocean und Rustic Wilderness auf weißen Cardstock gewischt. Dann habe ich Copic genommen und ganz rudimentär ein paar Zypressen mit einem Weg dazwischen aufgemalt.  

Dann habe ich den Window Frame von LawnFawn dreimal aus weißem Cardstock gestanzt und von zwei der Fenster nur Teile benutzt. Die habe ich alle mit Copics schattiert und dann aufeinander- und um die Landschaft geklebt. Nun kann man aus dem Küchenfenster die Landschaft und das Meer sehen.

 

From the center of the background I cut a rectangle and put a scene behind it, going for the look of Tuscany. I simply inked a piece of white cardstock with Distress Ink Tumbled Glass, Salty Ocean and Rustic Wilderness. Then I brought out my Copics and added some cypresses with a path inbetween, just drawing them on in a very simple way.

Then I cut the Window Frame by LawnFawn three times from white cardstock, from two of them I just used parts. I shaded them all with Copics, then glued them on top of each other and put the landscape scene behind it. Now you can see the landscape of Tuscany and the ocean throug the kitchen window. 

 

 Die Cafetiera, deren Deckel sich diesmal nicht öffnen lässt, habe ich aus silbernem Schimmer-Cardstock gestanzt, Griff und Knopf am Deckel sind aus schwarzem Cardstock. Ich habe die silbernen Teile mit Hickory Smoke gewischt und später noch ein paar dunkle Schatten mit Copics hinzugefügt.

Auch die Tasse, ebenfalls aus dem Stovetop Espresso Stanzenset von HeroArts, habe ich wieder dreimal gestanzt, so zugeschnitten, dass sich die Teile layern lassen, und alles mit Copics schattiert. Außerdem habe ich mit einer Stanze von MarianneDesign einen kleinen Kekes aus weißem Cardstock gestanzt, mit Copics coloriert und auf den Unterteller gelegt. 

Weil Tasse und Cafetiera nicht in der Luft vor der Wand schweben können habe ich aus dem grauen Woodgrain Cardstock von LawnFawn einen Streifen abgeschnitten, die Struktur mit Hickory Smoke und etwas weißer Stempeltinte hervorgehoben, und ihn entlang des unteren Rands der Karte auf den Hintergrund geklebt. 

Rund um die Cafetiera habe ich einige Kaffeebohnen verteilt.  

Der Text ist aus dem La Dolce Vita Banners Stanzenset von Spellbinders.  Ich habe ihn aus hellblauem Cardstock gestanzt und ein wenig mit Tumbled Glass gewischt, um das Blau des Himmels nochmal aufzugreifen. Dann habe ich unterhalb des Fensters quer über die Karte geklebt.

 

I die cut the cafetiera - the lid doesn't open this time - from silver shimmer cardstock, the handle and knob are cut from black cardstock. I shaded the silver pieces with Hickory Smoke and later added some darker shadows with Copics. 

Again I die cut the cup, that's also from Stovetop Espresso by HeroArts, three time, cut it to be able to layer it and shaded the pieces with Copics.  I also used a die by MarianneDesign to cut a little cookie, colored it with Copics and put it onto the saucer.

And since the cup and cafetiera can't float in front of the window I cut a strip from the grey woodgrain cardstock by LawnFawn, brought out the texture a bit more with Distress Ink Hickory Smoke and some white pigment ink and glued the strip along the bottom edge onto the background.

I added some coffee beans around the cafetiera.

The text is from the La Dolce Vita Banners by Spellbinders.  I cut it from light blue cardstock and shaded it with Tumbled Glass, bringing in the blue of the sky in the window again. Then I adhered the text banner across the card, right under the window.

 

 Die Cafetiera habe ich mit dünnem, Tasse und Text mit dickem 3D Tape hinterlegt. Dann habe ich noch ein paar weiße Herzen als Deko auf der Karte verteilt und alles auf einen weißen Kartenrohling geklebt.

 

I backed the cafetiera with thin, the cup and text banner with thick foam tape. Then I added some white clay hearts as decoration and adhered the card panel to a white note card.

In unserer Familie gehört Kaffee zum Grundnahrungsmittel - nur meine Große schlägt aus der Art und mag ihn überhaupt nicht... Filterkaffee gibt es bei uns schon lange nicht mehr. Bevor mein Mann letztes Jahr die professionelle Siebträgermaschine gekauft hat, haben wir unseren Kaffee auf die italienische Art gekocht: in einer Cafetiera auf dem Herd. Die blubberte eigentlich den ganzen Tag. 

Als HeroArts nun eine Cafetiera-Stanze rausgebracht hat, musste ich die haben, und habe damit diese Karte gemacht.

Coffee is an essential in our family - only my oldest is different and doesn't like it at all... We haven't made any regular coffee in ages. Before my husband invested in that fancy italian coffee machine we made our coffee the italian way, using a Cafetiera on the stove. It was bubbling all day long. 

When HeroArts came out with a Cafeteria die I just had to have it - and this is the first card I made with it.

 

Zuerst wollte ich einen etwas rustikalen Holzhintergrund für die Karte machen, dann aber hatte ich eine andere Idee.

Mit einem Honeycomb-Stencil - der hier ist von Create a Smile - habe ich Küchenfliesen gestaltet. Dafür habe ich die Stencil erst in der Big Shot ins Papier geprägt und dann durch den Stencil Versamark auf den Cardstock aufgebracht. Darauf habe ich dann Distress Glaze Lost Shadow aufgetragen und geschmolzen. Ich habe zwei Lagen davon aufgetragen, damit die Fliesen noch etwas mehr Dimension bekommen, und anschließend feine Sprenkel schwarzer Metallic-Watercolor aufgespritzt - wieder durch den Stencil, so dass die "Fugen" weiß bleiben. Durch den Glanz und das Erhabene sehen die Fliesen super realistisch aus. 

Als Küchenarbeitsplatte habe ich dann ein Stück Woodgrain-Cardstock von Tim Holtz zugeschnitten und mit Distress Ink Hickory Smoke grau eingefärbt. Mit einem Schwämmchen war mir die Farbe zu hell, also habe ich einfach das Stempelkissen direkt über den Cardstock gezogen. Den Holz-Cardstock habe ich dann auf den Fliesenhintergrund geklebt. 

 

First I wanted  to do some kind of rustic wooden background for the card but then had a different idea and created a kitchen back splash using a honeycomb stencil - this one is by Create a Smile. 

I first used my Big Shot to emboss the stencil into some white cardstock and then applied Versamark through the stencil. I put Distress Glaze Lost Shadow onto the wet ink and melted it. Just in case I added two layers of the embossing powder to give the tiles even more dimension. Then I added fine splatters of black metallic watercolor - again with the stencil put onto the cardstock to keep the joints white. With the shine and the dimensino the tiles look super realistic.

For my counter top I cut a piece of Tim Holtz's woodgrain cardstock the size I needed and colored it grey with Ditress Ink Hickory Smoke. The color turned out too light when applying it with a sponge so I dragged the ink pad directly over the paper. Then I glued the woodgrain cardstock onto the tile background.

 

 Die Motive auf der Karte sind alle mit besagtem Stovetop Espresso Stanzenset von HeroArts gemacht. Ich habe die Cafetiera aus silbernem Spiegel-Cardstock gemacht, den Griff und Knopf auf dem Deckel habe ich aus schwarzem Cardstock gestanzt.

Die Tassen sind aus weißem Cardstock gemacht und mit Copics leicht schattiert. 

Ich habe jeweils dünnes 3D Tape benutzt, um die Teile zusammenzukleben. Und damit das auch bei den Kaffeetassen klappt, habe ich je zwei Teile gestanzt und mit der Schere entlang der vorderen Tassenkante entlang geschnitten. So konnte ich auch die Tasse layern und dabei den Kaffee samt Crema-Herz etwas tieferliegend aufkleben, als wäre er in den Tassen. Über jeder Tasse habe ich etwas Dampf, gestanzt aus Vellum, aufsteigen lassen.

Zwischen den Tassen liegen einige Kaffeebohnen aus dem selben Stanzenset auf der Arbeitsplatte. Die sind aus schwarzem und dunkelbraunem Cardstock gestanzt.

I cut the Cafetiera from silver mirror cardstock, the handle and button on the top I cut from black cardstock.

The cups are made from white cardstock and shaded lightly with Copics.

I used thin foam tape to put the different pieces together. And to make that work also with the cups I cut two pieces for each cup, then used my scissors and cut along the front rim. This way I was able to also layer the cups and put the liquid with the heart a bit lower as if it's inside the cup. I adhered some steam, cut from vellum, above each cup.

There are a few coffee beans laying on the counter top. I made those from black and dark brown cardstock using another die from the same set.

 

 Der Text auf der Karte ist eine Kombi aus einem gestanzten Wort Coffee und gestempelten Texten.

Das Wort Coffee habe ich mit einer Stanze aus dem Coffee Words Set von Sugar Pea Designs gemacht. Das habe ich gefühlt schon seit 10 Jahren und hier konnte ich es endlich mal wieder benutzen. Die oberste Lage besteht aus schwarzem Cardstock, dahinter befinden sich 5 Lagen weißen Cardstocks, die ich etwas versetzt aufgeklebt habe.

Die gestempelten Texte sind aus dem Set Perk Up von MFT. Das "a good days start with" ist weiß auf schwarzen Cardstock embosst, das Fähnchen mit dem "and you" habe ich mit Versafine Clair Nocturne auf weißen Cardstock gestempelt. 

 

The text on the card is a combination of a die cut word coffee and stamped texts.

The word coffee I made using a die from the Coffee Words die set by Sugar Pea Designs. I think I have this set since at least 10 years and was finally able to use it again here. The top layer is cut from black cardstock, under it there are 5 white layers, that I adhered a bit offset. 

The stamped texts are from Perk Up by MFT. The "a good day starts with" is white heat embossed onto black cardstock, the banner with "and you" I stamped with Versafine Clair Nocturne onto white cardstock.

 

Die  einzelnen Elemente habe ich dann mit dünnem und dickem 3D Tape auf den Hintergrund geklebt. Ich konnte for einiger Zeit endlich braune Herzen ergattern und hier passten sie dann auch. Ich habe drei davon als Deko auf der Karte verteilt und dann alles auf einen weißen Kartenrohling geklebt. Eigentlich wollte ich eines der Herzen als Stopper einsetzen, das klappte aber nicht wie geplant. Und falls Ihr Euch jetzt fragt, als Stopper wofür - ich konnte nicht anders und habe noch ein kleines Extra eingebaut:

A little ago I was finally able to get my hands on some brown clay hearts and they were perfect here. I added three of them as decoration and then glued the card panel onto a white note card. 

Originally I wanted to use one of the hearts as a stopper, but that didn't work out. And if you wonder "a stopper for what" - I just couldn't resist and added a little extra to the card:

 

 Der Deckel der Cafetiera lässt sich aufklappen und dabei steigt heißer Dampf auf. 

 

The lid of the Cafetiera can be opened and when doing so, hot steam is coming out of it.

 

 Ich habe hier unter dem Scharnier am Deckel ein kleines Loch in den Cardstock darunter gestanzt und ein flaches kleines Brad hindurchgesteckt. An diesem Brad habe ich den Deckel angeklebt. 

Und hier sieht man auch, dass ich das innere/hintere obere Teil der Cafetiera aus matt-silbernem Cardstock gestanzt habe. Und weil ich gelernt habe, dass man eine Cafetiera nie mit Spüli reinigen darf, sondern immer nur mit Wasser ausspülen soll, habe ich die so entsehende Patina mit braunen Copics innen aufgemalt. 

Der Dampf ist mit einer weiteren Stanze aus dem Set und aus Vellum gemacht. Ich habe ihn einfach hinten am Deckel angeklebt, beim Schließen des Deckels verschwindet der Dampf in der Cafetiera.

 

I made a small hole into the cardstock under the hinge of the lid  and put a small flat brad through it. Then I glued the lid to that brad.

And here you can also see that I cut the inner/back top piece of the Cafetiera from matte silver cardstock. I also learned, that you must never clean a Cafetiera with dish soap, instead just rinse it under water. I used brown Copics to add the patina, that you end up with in your Cafetiera when you clean it that way.

The steam is cut from vellum using another die from the set. I simply glued it to the back of the lid, when you close the lid the steam moves inside the Cafetiera.

Im November hat HeroArts die Tower of Presents Stanze herausgebracht - sie war hier sofort ausverkauft. Jetzt aber konnte ich sie ergattern. Ich finde sie klasse für Geburtstagskarten - und genau für so eine habe ich sie hier verwendet.

In november HeroArts release the Tower of Presents die - and here it was sold out quickly. Now I was able to get it. I think, it's a great die for birthday cards - and that's what I used it on here.

Der Hintergrund besteht aus einem Stück hellgrauen Cardstocks, den ich mit Distress Oxide Hickory Smoke und Black Soot nach außen hin gewischt habe. Dann habe ich silberne Metallic Watercolor aufgespritzt - in schön großen Tropfen, die später wie Konfetti aussehen.

Da zu einer Party auch Luftschlangen gehören, habe ich einige im Hintergrund aufgehängt. Die sind mit den Curly Q Streamers von TheGreetery gemacht. Ich habe die kompletten Luftschlangen aus rotem Spiegel-Cardstock, die kleineren Schattenbereiche aus schwarzem Glitter-Cardstock gestanzt.

The background is made from a piece of light grey cardstock, that I inked with Distress Oxide Hickory Smoke and Black Soot, leaving the lightest area in the center of the cardstock piece. Then I added splatters of silver metallic watercolor - quite large drops that look like confetti later.

There is no party withouth streamers so I've put some in the background. Those are made using the Curly Q Streamers dies by TheGreetery. I die cut the full ones from red mirror cardstock, the smaller shadow pieces from black glitter cardstock.

 

Den Geschenketurm habe ich aus weißem Cardstock gestanzt und coloriert. Ich mag ja so Geschenkpapier-Durcheinander nicht. Das ging so weit, dass ich alle Weihnachtsgeschenke im selben Papier, mit gleichfarbiger Schleife unter dem Weihnachtsbaum drapiert habe und dann kam jemand, und hat ein komplett anders, am besten wild gemustert eingepacktes Geschenk dazugelegt. Das fand ich tatsächlich furchtbar! Keine Angst, inzwischen kann ich darüber hinwegsehen.... ;) Aber so ähnlich geht es mir beim Kartenbasteln - zu bunt mag ich einfach nicht. Also habe ich hier alle Geschenke in weiß mit roten Schleifen coloriert. Die Deckel der Geschenkboxen sind ebenfalls alle rot. Zum Colorieren habe ich Copics benutzt und dann mit Polychromos nachgearbeitet. Und damit zumindest ein wenig Abwechslung in den Geschenken ist, habe ich mit einem weißen Gelstift einigen Schleifen und Geschenken Punkten oder Streifen gegeben.

Zwischen all die Geschenke habe ich dann einige kleine Bären gesteckt. Die sind aus dem Little Bear Agenda Set von MamaElephant und ebenfalls mit Copics coloriert. Ausgeschnitten habe ich sie per Hand. 

Da für einen Text nicht wirklich viel Platz war, habe ich "beary happy birthday" aus den Sets I Heart Pandas und I Heart Pandas Add-On von LawnFawn auf drei aus weißem Cardstock gestanzte Sprechblasen verteilt aufgestempelt. Außerdem habe ich ein kleines "to you" aus einem der Sets abgestempelt.

Unter den Geschenketurm habe ich dann noch einige Ovale aus schwarzem Cardstock, gemacht mit den Oval Shadows von MFT, als Boden aufgeklebt.

I die cut the tower of presents from white cardstock and colored it in. In real life I don't like when there's a wild mix of differently wrapped presents. I  went so far, that I had wrapped all gifts in the same subtle wrapping paper, added identical bows and put them under the christmas tree - and then someone came and put a present in a totally different wrapping paper (most likely even a really colorful one with a wild pattern) next to them. I really hated that! But don't worry, I learned to live with it by now... ;) But it's the same with cardmaking for me - I just don't like too many colors on one card. So I did only white presents with red bows here. I used Copics to color them and then did some refining with Polychromos. And to have at least a bit of a difference in the stack of gifts I used a white gel pen and added some dots or stripes to some gifts and bows.

Between all the presents I put a few little bears. Those are from Little Bear Agenda by MamaElephant and also colored with Copics. Then I cut them out with my scissors.

There wasn't much room for a text, so I stamped "beary happy birthday" from I Heart Pandas and I Heart Pandas Add-On by LawnFawn onto three speech bubbles, that I had die cut from white cardstock. I also stamped a tiny "to you" from one of the sets.

Under the presents I put a few ovals, cut with the Oval Shadows by MFT from black cardstock, as a ground.

 

 Die Luftschlangen habe ich mit dünnem, die Geschenke mit dickem 3D Tape auf den Hintergrund geklebt. Hinter den Sprechblasen und den beiden Bären ganz unten habe ich das 3D Tape aufgedoppelt. Dann habe ich noch einige matt-silberne Pailetten als weitere Konfetti auf der Karte verteilt und alles auf einen weißen Kartenrohling geklebt.

I adhered the streamers with thin, the presents with thick foam tape to the background. Behind the speech bubbles and the two bears at the bottom I doubled the foam tape up.

I then added a few matte silver sequins as more confetti and adhered the card panel to a white note card.

Ein Hai zum Geburtstag

Der Freund einer meiner Töchter hatte Geburtstag, klar, dass er da auch eine Karte bekommt. Er surft und wakeboarded viel und gern - da war der geniale Hai von WhimsyStamps ein Must Have für mich und perfekt für diese Karte.

One of my daughter's boy friend just celebrated his birthday and of course I made him a card. He loves to surf and wakeboard - so this great shark image by WhimsyStamps was a must have for me and perfect for his card.

Für den Hintergrund habe ich den Sunburst Backdrop von LawnFawn aus weißem Cardstock ausgestanzt und dann mit Distress Oxide Wild Honey, Crackling Campfire, Wilted Violet und Chipped Sapphire gewischt. Für den oxidierten Effekt habe ich ein paar Wassertropfen darüber gespritzt. 

Darüber kam dann die Aloha Cover Plate Stanze von HeroArts, gestanzt aus schwarzem Cardstock. In der schmalen Linie oben steht eigentlich Aloha, daher der Name. Ich habe die Buchstaben hier rausgeschnitten und durch in der Größe passende für das Wort Happy ersetzt. Dafür habe ich das Captions Alphabet von MFT verwendet. Auch die Berge, die hinter dem Meer aufsteigen, habe ich weggeschnitten.

Den Sand und das Meer habe ich aus braunem bzw. türkisfarbenem Cardstock gestanzt und hinter die Palmen geklebt.

Um den Text zu ergänzen, habe ich mit der Happy Birthday Script Stanze nur das Wort Birthday aus schwarzem Cardstock gestanzt und auf den Hintergrund aufgeklebt.

For the background I've die cut the Sunburst Backdrop by LawnFawn from white cardstock and inked it up with Distress Oxide Wild Honey, Crackling Campfire, Wilted Violet and Chipped Sapphire. For the oxide effect I sprinkled a few drops of water over the cardstock.

On top I glued the Aloha Cover Plate by HeroArts, die cut from black cardstock. Oringially there's the word Aloha written between the two lines across the die - hence the name. I've cut out the letters and replaced them with individual ones in about the same size to write the word happy. I used the Captions Alphabet by MFT here. I also cut off the mountains that are behind the ocean in the original die cut piece.

I've die cut the sand and the ocean from brown and turquoise cardstock and glued those behind the palm trees.

To finish the text I've die cut the word Birthday from black cardstock using the Happy Birthday Script die by MFT and then glued it across the background.

Und hier ist der geniale Hai aus dem Stempelset Surf Shark von WhimsyStamps. Ich habe ihn mit Copics coloriert und für den Hawai-Hemd Look  ein paar winzige Blumen auf die Badeshorts gestempelt.

Dann habe ich den Hai ausgeschnitten und auf die Szene aufgeklebt.

And here's the amaing shark from the Surf Shark stamp set by WhimsyStamps. I colored him in with Copics and stamped a few tiny flowers onto his surf shorts for a Hawaiian shirt kind of look. 

Then I cut him out and glued him onto the scene.
