Karte mit Meer im Winter

 

Hallo Ihr Lieben!

Ich habe ja schon öfter betont, dass für mich maritime Karten nur im Sommer gehen. Nun, wenn der Enkel, der wie alle Jungs Wale, Dinos und Haie liebt, Geburtstag hat, dann macht Oma gerne mal eine Ausnahme. Und so gibt es heute eine Karte mit Meer von mir, mitten im Winter.

I've mentioned here several times already that I can only do maritime cards in summer. Well, when your grandson, that loves dinosaurs, wales and sharks like any little boy, celebrates his birthday, then grandma can make an exception. An so I am sharing an ocean card with you today, right in the middle of winter. 

 

Die Front der Karte besteht aus Folie, durch sie kann man bereits die Szene im Inneren sehen.

Ich habe dafür einen Streifen weißen Cardstocks in der Breite meiner Kartenbasis zugeschnitten und die obere Kante wolkenförmig ausgestanzt. Gute 2 cm danach habe ich dann eine Falzlinie gezogen und die Wolken nach vorne geknickt. Auf die Wolken kam dann das Acetate in Kartengröße und obenauf habe ich eine weitere Lage Wolken gesetzt, um den Kleber zu verdecken. 

 

The card front is made from acetate, through it you can see the scene on the inside.

I used a cloud border die to cut the top edge of a strip of white cardstock the width of my card into a cloud shape, then scored the cardstock about 2 cm from the clouds and folded the clouds up. Then I adhered the acetate on top of the clouuds and put another cloud piece on top to cover the glue.

 

 Auf die untere Hälfte des Acetate habe ich dann einige Lagen Wellen aufgeklebt, die ich mit diversen Wellenstanzen aus verschiedenen Tönen blauen Cardstocks gestanzt habe. Die dunkelblaue Lage befindet sich hier übrigens auf der Innenseite der Karte.

Da auf/im Meer immer was los ist, habe ich die Kartenfront noch mit zwei Möwen und einer Haifischflosse dekoriert. Die Möwen samt Holzstempen sind mit dem Oh Buoy Set von Spellbinders gemacht. Bei der schwimmenden Möwe habe ich die Füße weggelassen und sie hinter eine der Wellenreihen gesetzt. Außerdem habe ich hier die Stanzteile aufs Gesicht gedreht, damit sie in die andere Richtung schaut. Coloriert habe ich die Motive, die ich alle aus weißem Cardstock gestanzt habe, mit Copics.

Weiter oben habe ich zwei kleine Wolken auf die Folie geklebt. Übrigens habe ich die höchste Wellenlage sowie auch die kleinen Wolken ein weiteres Mal gestanzt und von hinten gegengleich gegen das Acetate geklebt, damit man auch hier den Kleber auf der Rückseite nicht sieht. 

Und rund um die Szene habe ich hier mit einem schwarzen Glaze Pen einen Rahmen aufgemalt. 

 

Onto the lower half of the acetate I adhered a few layeres that I cut from different shades of blue cardstock using different wave border dies. The dark blue layer is put on the inside of the card.

Since there's always something going on in/on the ocean I decorated the card front with two seagulls and a shark fin. The seagulls and the wooden post are made using the Oh Buoy set by Spellbinders. I didn't add the feet to the swimming seagull and glued it behind one of the wave borders. This seagull I also turned face down to make it look the other way.  I colored the images, that I all cut from white cardstock, with Copics.

Onto the area between the waves and the clouds at the top edge I adhered two small clouds. The tallest row of waves and also those two small clouds I cut again and glued them to the back of the acetate, again to cover the glue.

Around the scene I drew a frame using a black Glaze pen.

 

Nun muss ich kurz ausholen. Vor etwa 20 Jahren, als meine Zwillinge noch klein waren, habe ich mal ein Buch gekauft. Es hat die Form eines Burgers und darin gestalten zwei Kinder, denen ein ominöser Dieb immer die Burger klaut, einen Ekelburger. Auf jeder Seite des Burgers, die jeweils die verschiedenen Burgerbeläge zeigen, gibt es einen PopUp-Mechanismus unter einer Klappe. Öffnet man sie, kommt verschiedenes Ungeziefer zum Vorschein. Ja, für solchen Quatsch bin ich anfällig. Mein Enkel liebt dieses Buch, auch wenn er sich bis jetzt nicht traut, die Klappe, hinter der sich die zugegegebenermaßen große, sehr realistische und richtig eklige Spinne befindet, zu öffnen. Aber dieses Buch hatte ich im Sinn und wollte ein interaktives Element auf der Karte einbauen. Das sieht dann so aus:

 

I have to do a bit of story time here. About 20 years ago, when my twins were still little, I bought a book. It has the shape of a burger and in the story two kids create a really awful burger because someone is stealing their burgers. Each of the pages, that show the usual stuff you put on a burger, has a pop-up under a flap. When you open the flap, all kinds of bugs and other disgusting animals show up. Yes, I am know for buying stuff like that. My grandson loves this book, even if he still doesn't dare to open the flap, that hides a large, really realistic and disgusting looking spider.  I had that book in mind and wanted to include an interactive element on my card. This is what it looks like:

 

 Öffnet man die Karte, taucht zwischen der Wellenlinie im Inneren der Karte ein Hai auf. Und der hat das Geschenk und den Luftballon dabei, die man bereits durch das Acetate sehen konnte.

Ich habe hier eine Slider Card gemacht. Die besteht aus einem Streifen Cardstocks mit einer Lasche am oberen Ende, die ich oben hinter die Wolkenkante geklebt habe. Unten ist der Streifen hinter den dunkelblauen Cardstock gesteckt. So wandert er beim Öffnen der Karte nach oben. Den Mechanismus habe ich tatsächlich an einen angelehnt, den Jennifer McGuire vor etwa 3 Jahren mal in einem Video gezeigt hat, um eine Giftcard auf einer Karte zu verstecken. 

 

When you open the card a shark is coming up between the waves and he's bringing the present and balloon, that you can see through the front of the card.

I made some kind of slider card here. It's made from a strip of cardstock with a flap at the top, that I glued behind the clouds at the top. At the bottom the cardstock is tucked behind the dark blue cardstock. This way it slides up when the card gets opened. I kind of got the mechanism from a video that Jennifer McGuire shared about 3 years ago where she hid a giftcard inside a card.

 

 So sieht die Karte dann komplett geöffnet aus. 

Für den Streifen für den Mechanismus habe ich hellblauen Cardstock genommen und mit ein wenig Distress Ink Broken China gewischt.

I used light blue cardstock for the mechanism strip and lightly shaded it with Distress Ink Broken China.

 

 Der Hai ist Teil eines Sets, das ich vor einigen Monaten mal bei Amazon erstanden hatte, genau mit meinem Enkel im Kopf. 

Ich habe ihn aus hell- und dunkelgrauem Cardstock, den Mund aus korallefarbenem und die Zähne aus weißem Cardstock gestanzt und alles mit Copics schattiert. Der Luftballon ist aus dem Set Heart Hugs von HoneyBeeStamps, das Geschenk aus Build-a-Critter Christmas Accessoires von LawnFawn. 

 

The shark is part of a die set, that I got on Amazon a few months ago, and that I bought with my grandson in mind.

I die cut it from light and dark grey cardstock, for the mouth I used coral and for the teeth white cardstock, then shaded all the pieces with Copics. The balloon is from Heart Hugs by HoneyBeeStamps, the present from Build-a-Critter Christmas Accessoires by LawnFawn.

 

 Wie auch bekannt ist, liebe ich Wortspiele. Natürlich kann er das noch nicht lesen oder verstehen, aber ich fand es ganz lustig. Da er 5 Jahre geworden ist, passte ein "high five", abewandelt in "hai 5" doch prima. 

Ich habe die Buchstaben und die Zahl jeweils aus grauem und hellblauem Cardstock gestanzt, mit Copics schattiert und leicht versetzt aufeinander geklebt. Die habe ich dann auf der Karte platziert und links und rechts ein paar Wassertropfen angebracht. 

Den Text darunter habe ich mit Stempeln aus dem Kleine Worte Set von Stampcorner zusammengesetzt und weiß auf eine weitere Wellenlage aus dunkelblauem Cardstock embosst. Den habe ich dann aufgeklebt - die Wellenkante hier unterbricht die  große dunkelblaue Fläche zumindest ein wenig.

 

As you also know do I love puns. Of course my grandson can not read or understand it, but I thought it funny. He turned 5 years old so a "high five", written like "hai (which is pronunced just like high but means shark in german) 5" would work great.

I die cut the letters and number from light grey and light blue cardstock, shaded them with Copics and stacked them a bit offset. Then I put them onto the card and added a few water splashes to both sides.

The text underneath means "happy birthday to you". I white heat embossed it onto another wave layer, again cut from dark blue cardstock, and glued it onto the card. The wavy border here just breaks up that large dark blue area a bit.

 

Meerjungfrauen-Geburtstag

Eine meiner Nichten hatte vor kurzem Geburtstag. Und weil sie, wie viele kleine Mädchen, Meerjungfrauen liebt, habe ich ihr eine Geburtstagskarte mit dem Thema gemacht.

One of my nieces celebrated her birthday recently. Like many little girls she loves mermaids so I made her a mermaid birthday card.

 

Der Hintergrund besteht aus einem Stück weißen Cardstocks, den ich mit Distress Oxide Salvaged Patina, Broken China und Uncharted Mariner gewischt habe. Dann habe ich ein wenig Wasser darauf gespritzt.

Für den Sand habe ich die obere Kante von zwei Stücken hellbraunen Cardstocks mit einer leicht gewellten Randstanze - ich glaube von MFT, meine Wellen sind nicht mehr wirklich sortiert - gestanzt. Den Cardstock habe ich dann ein wenig mit Distress Ink Scorched Timber gewischt und Distress Ink Vintage Photo sowie weiße Acrylfarbe in feinen Spritzern aufgespritzt.

Hinter die Sandlagen habe ich noch einige Wasserpflanzen gesetzt. Die grünen Pflanzen sind mit dem Bayou Backdrop von LawnFawn gemacht - ich habe nur die Kante mit den Pflanzen benutzt und die dann umgedreht, so dass sie nach oben wachsen. Dahinter befinden sich noch hellblaue Corallen, die mit einer Stanze von Marianne Design gemacht sind. Die grünen Pflanzen habe ich mit Distress Mica Stain Frosted Juniper, die blauen mit Snow Flurries bespritzt. 

 

I made the background from white cardstock, that I inked with Distress Oxide Salvaged Patina, Broken China and Uncharted Mariner. Then I flicked some water onto it.

For the sand I cut the top edge of two pieces of light brown cardstock with a slightly wavy border die - I think it's MFT but my wave dies aren't really sorted by sets anymore so I am not entirely sure. I shaded the Cardstock with Distress Ink Scorched Timber and added fine splatters of Vintage Photo and also white acrylic paint onto it. 

Behind the sand I placed some water plants. The green ones are made with the Bayou Backdrop by LawnFawn. I only used the edge with the plants and turned them upside down, so the grow upwards. Behind these there are some blue corals, made with a die by Marianne Design. I spitzed Distress Mica Stain  onto the plants - Frosted Juniper onto the green and Snow Flurries onto the blue ones.

 

 Unten auf der Karte befindet sich die Meerjungfrau, die gerade dabei ist, die Kerzen auf ihrer Torte auszublasen. Die Meerjungfrau ist aus dem Set Mermazing von MFT. Und weil eine Party alleine doof ist, hat sie zwei Seepferdchen-Freunde eingeladen. Die sind aus Mermaid for You von LawnFawn. Alle tragen natürlich Partyhüte aus den Sets Capybaras und Lovable Legends von LawnFawn. 

Die Torte ist mit dem Set Cake it Easy von LawnFawn gemacht - für eine Meerjungfrau natürlich mit dickem Algenguss. Und auch dekoriert ist sie mit einem Algenmuster. Dafür habe ich nach dem Colorieren der Torte den oberen Teil eines Wasserpflanzenstempels aus Mermazing mit helltürkisfarbener Tinte mehrfach auf die Torte gestempelt. 

Der Guss der Torte ist mit Glossy Accents überzogen, Teile der Meerjungfrau und auch die Seepferdchen sind mit Stickles beglittert. 

Und wie es sich für einen Meerjungfrauen-Geburtstag gehört, wird die Torte natürlich in einer Muschel serviert. Eigentlich hatte ich mir extra zwei Stanzensets von StudioLight bestellt, die kamen aber nicht mehr rechtzeitig an. Also habe ich die Muschel aus dem Seashell Frame von WaffleFlower benutzt.  Ich habe sie aus Schimmer-Cardstock gestanzt und die Torte statt der Perle im Set hineingesetzt. Weil die Muschel fast ein wenig zu klein war, habe ich per Hand noch eine Schattenlage aus cremefarbenem Schimmer-Cardstock zugeschnitten. Mit Polychromos habe ich einige Schatten und Details auf die Muschel gemalt.  Ein Geschenk und ein Partybanner durften natürlich auch nicht fehlen! 

In den Sand habe ich noch ein paar Muscheln, ebenfalls aus Mermazing, gesteckt. Alle Motive sind mit Copics coloriert. 

 

At the bottom of the card there's the little mermaid, that's just about to blow out the candles on the cake. The mermaid is from  Mermazing by MFT. And it isn't a party without a few guests I added two seahorses to the card. Those are from Mermaid for You by LawnFawn. Of course all of them are wearing party hats from Capybaras and Lovable Legends by LawnFawn.

The cake is made using the Cake it Easy set by LawnFawn - since it is for a mermaid it is covered with some algue icing. It's also decorated with some kelp. For that I stamped the top of a waterplant from Mermazing with light aqua ink all around the cake, of course after coloring it. 

The icing is covered with Glossy Accents, parts of the mermaid and also the seahorses I made nice and sparkly with Stickles.

And as is suitable for a mermaid birthday the cake is served in a seashell. I had ordered two die sets by StudioLight to use here but they didn't arrive in time so I used the seashell from the Seashell Frame die set by WafleFlower instead. I cut it from shimmer cardstock, then glued the cake onto it instead of the pearl. Since the seashell was a bit too small I cut a shadow layer from cream colored shimmer cardstock, using my scissors. With Polychromos I added some shadows and details to the shell. Of course a present and a party banner are a must haveo a birthday, too!

I put some seashells from Mermazing into the sand. All images on this card are colored with Copics.

 

 

 Im oberen Bereich der Karte habe ich mit türkisfarbener Tinte einige Fischschwärme aus Mermazing auf den Hintergrund gestempelt. Damit sie nicht zu dunkel werden, habe ich hier Second Generation Stamping angewendet. 

Und in die Mitte habe ich hier oben ein einfaches Happy Birthday aus Cake it Easy Add-Ondirekt auf den Hintergrund embosst. Damit der Text zum Glitzerlook passt, habe ich irisierendes weißliches Embossingpulver benutzt.

 

In the upper half of my card I stamped some school of fish from Mermazing onto the background using turquoise ink. To make sure they don't turn out too dark I did some second generation stamping.

And in the upper center I placed my text, heat embossing a simple Happy Birthday from Cake it Easy Add-On directly onto the background. To make the text go with the glittery look of the card I used some iridescent offwhite embossing powder.

 

 Die Szene habe ich natürlich mit 3D Tape zusammengesetzt. Als Dekoration habe ich einige klare Pailetten aufgeklebt, die wie aufsteigende Blubberblasen aussehen. 

Zum Schluss habe ich noch einen der Stitched Rectangle Frames aus blauem, leicht regenbogen-farben irisierendem Cardstock gestanzt. Der hat ein wenig Struktur und ich habe ihn schon ewig und fast vergessen. Vor ein paar Tagen habe ich aber genau den Cardstock hervorgeholt, denn er war perfekt für eine andere Karte. Und wie es so oft geht, kaum ist etwas wieder in Erinnerung gerufen, nutzt man es auch gleich wieder öfter. 

Zum Schluss habe meine Szene auf einen weißen Kartenrohling geklebt.

 

Of course I used foam tape to put the scene together. As decoration I added some clear sequins, that look like little bubbles. 

I die cut one of the Stitched Rectangle Frames from blue, kind or rainbow iridescent cardstock. It has a bit of a structure and I have had it forever. I had nearly forgotten about it, but a few days ago this was the perfect cardstock for another project. And as often - once you remember something you have in your stash you use it more often.

As the last step I attached the card panel to a white note card.

 

Geburtstagsgrüße aus dem Wald

Heute habe ich eine Geburtstagskarte für Euch, die Grüße darauf werden von kleinen Waldschraten geliefert. Und weil die doch recht groß sind, ist es eine Karte im Slimline-Format  geworden.

Today I have a birthday card to share with you, the greetings get delivered by some forest fairies. And since those are larger than you might think I ended up with a slimline sized card.

 

Der Hintergrund besteht aus weißem Cardstock, den ich mit Distress Oxides Speckled Egg, Salvaged Patina, Broken China und Uncharted Mariner gewischt habe. Dann habe ich ein paar Wassertropfen aufgespritzt.

 

The background is made from a piece of white cardstock that I inked  with Distress Oxide Speckled Egg, Salvaged Patina, Broken China and Uncharted Mariner. Then I covered it with a few droplets of water.

 

 Die süßen Waldschrate sind aus dem Set Holfi Acrobati von Impronte d'Autore. Das hatte ich vor kurzem in einem Flohmarkt erstanden und als mir das Set jetzt wieder in die Hände fiel, habe ich beschlossen, es einzuweihen. 

Ich habe gleich alle Figuren aus dem Set und zusätzlich ein Geschenk und eine Sonnenblume abgestempelt, mit Copics coloriert und ausgeschnitten. 

Für mich müssen Waldschrate  einfach in Grün- und Brauntönen gekleidet sein. Zusammen mit dem Gelb, das sich durch die Sonnenblume ergeben hat, ist die Karte auch schon ein wenig herbstlich ausgefallen. Das leuchten Blau im Hintergrund habe ich daher gewählt, um der Karte ein wenig mehr "Sommer" zu verleihen. Und ich finde, das klappt ganz gut.

Und ich fand, die drei brauchten unbedingt Sommersprossen. Also habe ich die mit einem braunen Fineliner aufgetupft. 

 

Those cute forest fairies are from Holfi Acrobati by Impronte d'Autore. I got that in a destash group a little while ago and when I came across it in my stamp stash recently, I decided to use it right away.

I used all the figures and also a present and a sunflower from the set, colored them with Copics and cut them out.

To me, forest fairies have to be dressed in browns and greens. Together with the yellow, that was a given by the  sunflower, the card again has some kind of fall-ish look. So I've chosen the bright blue for the background to make this card look a bit more "summer". And I think, it worked.

I really thought those three need some freckles so I used a brown fineliner to draw some onto their faces. 

 

 Mein Text besteht hier nur aus ein paar Buchstaben, die quer über der Karte verteilt sind. Ich habe sie aus gelbem Cardstock gestanzt und dabei zwei verschieden große Alphabet-Stanzensets benutzt. Dann habe ich die Buchstaben ein wenig mit Distress Ink Wild Honey schattiert und sie den Waldschraten auf die Füße und Häne gesetzt. Die Motive haben sich da einfach angeboten. Das Geschenk und die Sonnenblume habe ich dann noch auf die noch freien Hände bzw. Füße gesetzt. 

 

My text on this card is made from just a few die cut letters, that are scattered all over the card. I die cut them from yellow cardstock using two different sizes of alphabet dies. I inked the letters with a bit of Distress Ink Wild Honey and then put them on the fairies' hands and feet. Those images just screamed to be used like that. I added the sunflower and the present to the remaining, still empty hand and foot.

 

 Und weil meine Schrate ja im Wald leben, habe ich hinter die Motive einige Farne und Pilze gesetzt. Die sind mit Stanzen von Craft Emotions und HeroArts gemacht und aus verschieden farbigen Cardstockstücken gestanzt. Ich habe jedes Teil mit einem farblich passenden Ton Distress Ink etwas schattiert und die Teile auf dem Hintergrund befestigt. Dann, vor dem Aufkleben der Motive, habe ich noch etwas weiße Acrylfarbe über den Hintergrund gespritzt.

 

And since those fairies are meant to live in the forest I put some ferns and mushrooms behind the images. I made those using dies by CraftEmotions and HeroArts and cut them from different colors of cardstock. I shaded each piece with a matching Distress Ink Color and then glued them to the background. Before adhering the images I splattered some white acrylic paint over the cardstock.

 

 Da ich ja einige Lagen Pflanzen im Hintergrund habe, musste ich auch die Motive etwas nach oben bringen. Die beiden Schrate links und rechts sind mit dünnem, das Schratmädchen in der Mitte mit dickem 3D Tape hinterlegt.

Als Deko habe ich ein paar gelbe Enamel Dots auf der Karte verteilt und dann alles auf einen weißen Kartenrohling im Slimline-Format geklebt.

 

Since I already have several layers of plants in the background I also had to bring up the images a notch. I backed the two fairies on the left and right with thin, the girl in the center with thick foam tape.

I added some yellow Enamel Dots as decoration, then mounted the card panel to a white slimline card base.

 

Geburtstagskarte mit Schiff

Hallo Ihr Lieben!

Ich habe Euch ja vor kurzem erzählt, dass wir eine Bastelcruise gebucht haben. Eine der Mitreisenden hatte nun Geburtstag. Klar, dass da das Thema aufgegriffen wurde. Wie gut, dass Spellbinders gerade erst eine Kreuzfahrtschiff-Stanze herausgebracht hat. Die kam hier zum Einsatz.

I just told you  a little ago, that we booked a craft cruise.  One of the friends going with us just celebrated her birthday. Of course I had to do a cruise themed birthday card. And if they knew it Spellbinders just released a cruise ship die set. That's what I used on this card.

 

Der Hintergrund besteht aus weißem Cardstock, auf den ich mit roter Glitzerfolie ein Feuerwerk auffoliert habe.

Dann habe ich den Himmel mit Distress Oxide gewischt: ein klein wenig Kitsch Flamingo, dann Shaded Lilac, Blueprint Sketch und Chipped Sapphire. Außerdem habe ich weiße Acrylfarbe aufgespritzt.

Die Wellen sind aus dem Deckside Dreams Stanzenset, in dem auch das Schiff enthalten ist. Zusammen mit der geraden Horizontlinie habe ich vier Lagen Wasser auf den Hintergrund geklebt, den ich aus Cardstock in drei verschiedenen Blautönen gestanzt habe.

 

The background is made from a piece of white cardstock, onto that I first foiled some fireworks using red glittery foil.

Then I inked the sky with Distress Oxides: a hint of  Kitsch Flamingo, then Shaded Lilac, Blueprint Sketch and Chpiped Sapphire.  Then I added fine splatters of white acrylic paint.

The waves are from the Deckside Dreams die set, which also includes the ship. Including the straight horizon line I adhered four layers of water, cut from three different shades of blue cardstock. 

 

 

Das Schiff habe ich aus verschiedenen Cardstock-Farben gestanzt und die Fenster hellblau hinterlegt. Der Dampf, der aus dem Schornstein aufsteigt, ist aus Vellum gemacht.

Passend zum Geburtstag habe ich das Schiff mit einer Lichterkette partytauglich dekoriert. Die Stanze dafür stammt aus einem Set von Action und passte von der Größe und der Form her perfekt. Ich habe sie aus silbernem, die Glühbirnen aus rotem Spiegel-Cardstock gestanzt.

Vorne am Bug des Schiffes habe ich ein Fähnchen mit einem aufgestempelten Happy Birthday angeklebt, beides aus dem Set Wheelie Great Friend von MFT. Und als kleinen Insider habe ich auch noch eine Sprechblase aus dem All the Speechbubbles Set von LawnFawn mit einem hineingestempelten  "so toll" von Stampcorner aufgeklebt. 

Das Unterteil des Schiffs habe ich etwas gelayert. Ich hatte das in einem der Beispielbilder für das Set gesehen und fand den Look so fast noch besser. Außerdem habe ich den Bug mit einem kleinen roten Herz dekoriert. 

 

I die cut the pieces for the ship from different colors of cardstock and put some light blue cardstock behind the windows. The steam is cut from vellum.

Matching the birthday theme of the card I added a string of lights to make the ship look more festive. The die I used for it is from a set by Action, it was perfect from both size and shape. I cut it from silver and the bulb from red metallic cardstock.

I glued a banner with a stamped on happy birthday, both from Wheelie Great Friend by MFT, to the bow of the ship. And as a little inside joke I had to add a speech bubble from All the Speechbubbles by LawnFawn and stamped a "so toll" - so amazing - onto/into it.

In one of the samples made with the set the creator layered the hull of the ship and I liked that look even better. I also decorated the bow with a small red heart.

 

Ich hoffe für unsere Cruise natürlich auf ruhige See, aber auf meiner Karte darf das Schiff schon ein wenig auf den Wellen schaukeln. 

Ich habe dafür ein Stück Cardstock hinter den gebogenen/gefalteten Schiffsrumpf geklebt und daran das Oberteil des Schiffs befestigt. Außerdem habe ich ganz unten am Schiff ein kleines rundes Plastikteil  angebracht, das ich durch ein Loch im Hintergrund gesteckt und von hinten mit einem etwas größeren Cardstock-Kreis gesichert habe. Oben hinter den Fenstern des Schiffs befindet sich ein weiteres so gesichertes Plastikstück, das ich durch einen in den Hintergrund gestanzten Bogen gesteckt habe. Der führt das Schiff, hält es aber auch davon ab, zu weit hin und her zu schaukeln.

 

Of course I am hoping for smooth waters for our cruise, but I don't mind the ship on my card to move a bit left and right with the waves.

I put a piece of cardstock to close the folded/bended hull of my ship and then glued the top of the ship to it. I also glued a small round plastic piece to the very bottom of the ship and put it through a hole, that I cut into the background. To secure it I put a slightly larger cardstock circle onto the back of the plastic piece. At the top of the ship, behind the windows, I adhered another piece of plastic, securing it the same way, and put that through an arch, that I cut into the bbackground. It keeps the ship on track and also keeps it from moving too far to the left and right.

 

 Auf der vordersten Welle habe ich dann weiß meinen Text aufembosst. Er ist aus dem Set School Rules von MamaElephant. 

Und weil man ja so seine Scherze untereinander macht, konnte ich nicht anders, als auch noch einen Hai zwischen den Wellen zu verstecken. Von dem sieht man natürlich nur die Rückenflosse - die passende musikalische Untermalung - du-du, du-du, du-du - dürft Ihr Euch denken. Der Hai, von dem man hier nur ein kleines Stück sieht, ist aus dem Set Du-Nuh von LawnFawn. 

 

I white heat embossed the main text onto the bottom wave. The text is from School Rules by MamaElephant.

Well, of course we make our jokes when talking about the cruise, so I just couldn't resist putting a shark between the waves. Of course you only see his dorsal fin and you have to add the matching sound  - du-nuh, du-nuh, du-nuh - yourself. The shark, that you only see a little part of, is from Du-Nuh by LawnFawn. 

 

 Wie schon erwähnt, ist das Schiff in der Mitte leicht geknickt, die vorderen beiden Wellen-Lagen habe ich daher mit aufgedoppeltem 3D Tape aufgeklebt. Und auch hinter dem Hintergrund befindet sich 3D Tape, damit sich die Kreise für den Schaukelmechanismus der Karte frei bewegen können. Deswegen ist die Karte dann doch eher dick ausgefallen. Da sie aber persönlich übergeben wurde, macht das gar nichts.

 

As mentioned already the ship is folded a bit in the center so I had to double up thick foam tape to adhere those two top layers of waves. And also behind the background I put foam tape to make sure, the circles for the moving mechanism of the ship can move freely. That makes the card pretty thick but since it was hand delivered I didn't care.

Die Karte ist während der Hitze Anfang Juli entstanden - und ich brauchte Abkühlung. Also habe ich eine Karte mit einem kühlen Eis-Shake gebastelt, man tut, was man kann, oder?

 

Hello everyone!

I made this card during the latest heat wave here in Germany - and I needed some cooling down. So I made a card with an ice shake - we do, what we can, right?

 

Der Hintergrund hat mir hier echt Probleme bereitet - der Shake war relativ schnell fertig. Aber irgendwie passte nichts, und ich wollte farblich eher subtil bleiben. 

Letztendlich habe ich ein Stück hell-türkisen Designpapiers mit kleinen weißen Punkten genommen und mit weißer Stempelfarbe Strahlen aufgewischt. Der Mittelpunkt der Strahlen liegt hier hinter dem Shake. 

Aus helltürkis-farbenem Cardstock habe ich dann Sterne ausgestanzt und mit Distress Oxide Evergreen Bough leicht gewischt. Und weil mir oben immer noch etwas fehlte, habe ich noch die Bunting Border von LawnFawn aus Vellum gestanzt und aufgeklebt.

 

The background really was troubing me here - the shake was done quite quickly. But somehow nothing fit and I wanted to stay subtle in colors for my background.

I finally decided to go with a piece of light aqua patterned paper with small white dots and ink blended some rays onto it using white pigment ink and a rays stencil. The center of those rays is behind the shake.

From light aqua cardstock I die cut some stars and shaded them with Distress Oxide Evergreen Bough. And since I still was missing something in the top of my background I die cut one of the Bunting Boders by LawnFawn from Vellum and glued it down. 

 

 Der Shake ist mit dem Lovely Layers Cupcake and More Stanzenset von HoneyBeeStamps gemacht. Das Glas ist aus hell-türkis farbenem Cardstock gestanzt und mit Distress Ink Salvaged Patina leicht gewicht. Die Füllung habe ich aus einem der Bögen aus dem Gleeful Gradients Paper Pad von LawnFawn gestanzt. Außerdem befindet sich auf dem Glas eine komplette Lage, die ich aus Acetate gestanzt habe. So glänzt es schön.

Gefüllt ist es neben der pinkfarbenen Flüssigkeit noch mit einer großen Kugel rosafarbenen Eises mit einer dicken Sahnehaube darauf. Die ist außerdem mit Schokosauce überzogen und oben stecken eine Kirsche, ein Strohhalm und ein Stück Schokoalde darin.

Unten am Fuß des Glases habe ich noch ein weiteres Stück Schokolade, drei Kirschen und eine Geburtstagskerze verteilt. Die Kerze wollte ich eigentlich in die Sahnehaube stecken, aber so wurde der Shake einfach zu hoch. Also habe ich den Docht schwarz angemalt und die Kerze unten ans Glas gelegt, so als wäre sie bereits ausgepustet und aus dem Shake gezogen worden.

 

The shake I  made with the Lovely Layers Cupcake and More die set by HoneyBeeStamps. 

I cut the glass from light aqua cardstock and shaded it with Distress Ink Salvaged Patina. The liquid I cut from one of the sheets in the Gleeful Gradients paper pad by LawnnFawn. I also put a complete layer cut from acetate onto the glass to make it nice and shiny.

There's not only the pink liquid in the glass, on top there's also a large scoopo of pink ice cream with a large cream puff on top. That's also covered in chocolate sauce and I tucked  a cherry, a paper straw and some chocolate into the cream.

At the bottom of the glass I added another piece of chocolate, three more cherries and a birthday candle. I originally wanted to put that into the cream as well, but that would have made the whole shake too tall for my glass. So I colored the candle wick black and laid the candle next to the glass like as if it was lit up and blown out already and then taken out of the cream.

 

 Die pinkfarbenen Lagen habe ich mit Picked Raspberry schattiert und auf den Strohhalm mit Lumberjack Plaid Streifen aufgewischt. Die Schokolade und die Kirschen sind mit Ground Espresso schattiert, die Sahne ganz leicht mit Lost Shadow. Auf die Schokosauce, die ich aus braunem Cardstock gestanzt habe, habe ich dann eine Schicht Glossy Accents aufgetragen und nach dem Trocknen pinkfarbene und rote Streusel darauf verteilt. 

 

I shaded the pink layer with Picked Raspberry and added some stripes to the paper straw using Lumberjack Plaid. To shade the chocolate and the cherries I used Ground Espresso, for the cream I applied some Lost Shadow very softly. I covered the chocolat drizzle, that I cut from dark brown cardstock, with Glossy Accents and after it had dried glued some red and pink sprinkles onto it.

 

 Den Text habe ich unten quer über den Shake geklebt.

Das Wort Sweet habe ich mit einer Stanze von MFT gemacht - die Schattenlage aus Vellum, das Wort an sich sechsmal aus weißem und einmal aus braunem Cardstock. Ich habe jeweils drei der weißen Worte aufeinander geklebt und diese dann hinter und auf das Vellum geklebt. 

Aus dem braunen Cardstock habe ich nur die oberen Teile jedes Buchstabens abgeschnitten und diese dann auf das Wort sweet geklebt. Auch diese braune Lage habe ich mit Glossy Accents überzogen, so dass es so aussieht, als befände sich auch auf dem Wort Schokosauce. 

Der Rest des Textes ist mit Stempeln aus den Sets Itty Bitty Birthday und Itty Bitty Holiday von MFT gemacht und weiß auf braunen Cardstock embosst.  

 

The text I adhered across the shake.

I used a die by MFT to cut the word sweet - the shadow layer from vellum, the word itself six times from white and one time from brown cardstock. I stacked three each of the white words and glued them behind and on top of the velllum. 

From the brown cardstock I cut off just the top of the letters and glued them onto the top white layer, then covered those small pieces with Glossy Accents. Now it looks like also the die cut word is covered with chocolate sauce.

The rest of the text is made using stamps from Itty Bitty Birthday and Itty Birthday Holiday by MFT, white heat embossed onto brown cardstock.

 

 Ich habe den Shake und die Textteile mit dünnem 3D Tape auf den Hintergrund geklebt und als Deko einige rosafarbene Perlen verteilt. Außerdem habe ich mit einem weißen Gelstift einen Rahmen aufgemalt. 

Zum Schluss habe ich alles auf einen weißen Kartenrohling geklebt.

 

I adhered the shake and the text to the background with thin foam tape, then added a few light pink pearls as decoration. I also drew a frame with a white gel pen.

Then I attached the card panel to a white note card.

Gestern gab es ein neues Release von LawnFawn - dabei habe ich noch nicht mal alles aus dem letzten Release eingeweiht! Einen Teil davon habe ich daher auf dieser Karte benutzt - der beste Zeitvertreib, um das Warten auf meine Bestellung des neuen Releases zu warten... ;)

Ich habe eine Geburtstagskarte gemacht. Heute wäre der Geburtstag meines Vaters, die Karte ist ihm gewidmet. 

 

Hello everyone!

Yesterday there was a new release by LawnFawn - but I still haven't used everything from the last one! I used some of it on this card - the best way to pass the time while waiting for my order from this new release... ;) 

I made a birthday card - today would have been my dad's birthday, so this card is for him. 

 

Der Hintergrund besteht hier zur Abwechslung mal aus Designpapier. Ich habe ein Stück des gelben Bogens aus dem Watercolor Wishes Paper Pad zugeschnitten. 

Für den Aufleger kam ein blaues Papier mit winzigen Sternen aus Gleeful Gradients zum Einsatz. Ich habe ein Rechteck davon geschnitten und die Ränder mit Distress Ink Blueprint Sketch gewischt.

Das blaue Papier habe ich dann mit dünnem 3D Tape auf das gelbe Papier geklebt und über beides goldene Metallic Watercolor gespritzt.

 

For a change I used patterned paper for my background. I cut  a piece from the yellow paper from Watercolor Wishes. 

Then I cut a rectangle from some blue paper with tiny stars from Gleeful Gradients and inked the edges with Distress Ink Blueprint Sketch. 

I adhered the blue paper to the yellow one using thin foam tape and splattered gold metallic watercolor onto both papers.

 

 Die Stempelsets, die ich hier eingeweiht habe, sind Cake it Easy und Cake it Easy Add-On. Damit habe ich die dreistöckige Torte zusammengesetzt. Und weil ich sie mit Bären kombiniert habe, ist das natürllich eine Honigkuchentorte mit dickem Honigguss. 

Ich habe alle Teile mit Copics coloriert - die Kuchen gelb, den Guß honiggelb. Den habe ich außerdem mit Glossy Accents überzogen. 

Auf die unterste Torte habe ich die Deko einer weiteren Torte aus dem Set gestempelt. Daneben sitzt ein Bär aus Den Sweet Den und spritzt mit dem großen Spritzbeutel aus Baked With Love die Creme auf. Von der selben Creme ist auch der dicke Creme-Tuff ganz oben auf der Torte. Der ist eigentlich das obere des Cupcakes aus Baked with Love. 

Hinter dem Creme-Tuff steht ein weiterer Bär aus Snow Much Fun, bereit, eine Kerze in die Creme zu stecken. Die Kerze ist ebenfalls aus Cake it Easy - die Flamme habe ich weggeschnitten, denn niemand steckt eine bereits brennende Kerze in eine Torte.... denke ich.

Auf der Karte befinden sich noch zwei weitere Bären aus Den Sweet Den. Einer sitzt auf Honiggläsern aus Hive Five und trägt mit dem Honiglöffel aus dem selben Set noch mehr Honig auf die Torte auf. Auch die Honiggläser habe ich mit Glossy Accents überzogen.

Der  andere, kleinste Bär war so müde vom Backen, dass er auf dem Kochbuch eingeschlafen ist. Das Buch habe ich dem Igel aus Little Woodland Library Friends "weggenommen". 

Hinter dem großen Bären befindet sich noch eine Schüssel mit eine Löffel, beides aus A Creature was Stirring. 

 

The stamp sets I used for the first time on this card are Cake it Easy and Cake it Easy Add-On. I put a three tiered cake together with those. And since I combined them with bears of course this is some honey cake with a thick drip of honey on top.

I colored all pieces with Copics - the cake yellow, the drip a honey yellow. Onto the honey I put a thick layer of Glossy Accents.

I stamped the piping from another cake from the set onto the bottom cake. Next to it there's a bear from Den Sweet Den, piping on some cream using the piping back from Baked with Love. The large cream puff on top of the cake is made from the same cream. This puff is originally the top of a cupcake from Baked with Love.

Behind the cream puff a little bear from Snow Much Fun is ready to put the candle into the cream. The candle is also from Cake it Easy - I cut off the flame because nobody sticks a candle into a cake when it's already lit up... I guess.

There are two more bears from Den Sweet Den on my card. One is sitting on some honey jars from Hive Five, dripping more honey onto the cake using the spoon from the same set. Also the honey jars I covered with Glossy Accents.

The other, smallest bear was so tired from all the baking that he fell asleep on top of the cookbook. The book I took from the hedgehog from Little Woodland Library Friends.

Behind the large bear there's also a bowl with a spoon, both images from A Creature was Stirring. 

 

 Oben habe ich hinter den Motiven zwei Partybanner quer über die Karte gehängt. Sie sind mit den Sets Fishtail Banner Borders und Bunting Borders gemacht. Ich habe jeweils eine Bannerreihe aus hellblauem Designpapier mit kleinen Blümchen aus dem Bitsy Blooms Paper Pad und einmal aus weißem Cardstock gestanzt und versetzt aufeinander geklebt. 

Außerdem habe ich ein paar kleine Bienen aus You're a Keeper um die Torte fliegen lassen. 

 

Behind the images I added two party banners across the card.  I cut those using the die sets Fishtail Banner Boders and Bunting Border. I cut one banner each from light blue patterned paper with tiny flowers from the Bitsy Blooms Paper Pad and once from white cardstock, then stacked them.

I also added some small bees from You're a Keeper, letting them fly around the cake.

 

 Unten auf der Karte habe ich meinen Text aufgeklebt - hier auf diesem Bild seht Ihr den eingeschlafenen Bären und auch die Schüssel hinter dem großen Bären nochmal besser.

Ich wollte es so aussehen lassen, als wäre das große Wort "sweet" ebenfalls mit dem Spritzbeutel geschrieben und von oben mit Honig beträufelt. Ich habe das Wort mit der Scripty Sweet Stanze zweimal aus weißem Cardstock gestanzt und eines davon wieder mit Copics coloriert. Für den herablaufenden Honig habe ich die Drip-Linie der großen Torte auf das Wort gestempelt um den Look von Wort und Kuchen gleich zu halten. Auch hier ist der Honig mit Glossy Accents überzogen. Das weiße Stanzteil habe ich dann etwas versetzt dahinter geklebt.

Das Birthday Wishes, das den Text ergänzt, habe ich dann mit blauer Tinte direkt auf den gelben Hintergrund gestempelt und dafür zwei Worte aus How you Bean Star Add-On und Sprinkled with Joy kombiniert.  

 

At the bottom of my card I adhered my text - on this picture you can see the sleeping bear and also the bowl behind the large bear better.

I wanted it to look as if the large word "sweet" was also piped from cream, then the tops are covered with honey. I die cut the Scripty Sweet die two times from white cardstock and colored one of them with Copics. For the dripping down honey I stamped the drip line from the large cake onto the word to make the work and cake look alike.  Again I covered the honey with Glossy Accents. I glued the white die cut a bit offset behind the colored one

The "birthday wishes", that compeltes the text, I stamped with blue ink directly onto the yellow background, combining two words from How You Bean Star Add-On and Sprinkled with Joy.

 

 Der blaue Hintergrund war ja bereits mit 3D Tape aufgeklebt. Ich habe die Kuchen und Schüssel direkt darauf geklebt und die anderen Motive dann mit dünnem bzw. dickem 3D Tape aufgeklebt.

Als Deko habe ich noch zwei dunkelbraune Herzen auf die oberen beiden Kuchen geklebt und dann alles auf einem weißen Kartenrohling befestigt.

 

The blue background was already popped up with foam tape. I glued the cakes and the bowl directly on it, then backed the other elements with thin and thick foam tape.

As decoration I added two brown hearts to the top layers of the cake, then adhered the card panel to a white note card.

Heute habe ich eine Geburtstagskarte mit Cocktail, die absolute Sommerlaune verbreitet. Ich selbst bin ja Ende Dezember geboren und hätte immer gerne im Sommer Geburtstag gehabt. Und genau so, wie die Karte aussieht, stelle ich mir die perfekte Sommer-Geburtstags-Gartenparty vor.... ;)

Today I have a summer birthday card with a cocktail to share, that radiates summer vibes to me. I myself am born end of december and I always wanted my birthday to be in summer. And this card presents, what I imagine the perfect summer-birthday-garden-party... ;) 

 

Hier kam wieder etwas aus dem neusten Release von LawnFawn zum Einsatz: die  Build-a-Drink Margarita Add-On Stanze. Kombiniert habe ich sie dann mit Produkten diverser Firmen.

Der Hintergrund besteht aus einem Stück Designpapier aus dem ebenfalls neuen Gleeful Gradients Paper Pad von LawnFawn. Die Papiere haben einen tollen Farbverlauf und ich habe mich für einen Bogen, der von Gelb in Grün übergeht, entschieden. Auf ihn habe ich goldene Metallic Watercolor aufgespritzt.

 

Again I used something from LawnFawn's latest release here: the Build-a-Drik Margarita Add-On die set. I combined it with products from different brands.

The background is made from a piece of patterned paper from the also new Gleeful Gradients paper pad by LawnFawn. Those papers have a beautiful color shift and I went with a sheet, that changes from yellow to green. I splattered some gold metallic watercolor onto it.

 

 Auf einer Geburstagskarte darf natürlich Partyausstattung nicht fehlen. Ich habe hier das Pinwheel Stanzen -und Stencilset von TheGreetery benutzt und gelbe und grüne Rosetten kreiert. Die sind mit Distress Ink Squeezed Lemonade und Mustard Seed sowie Twisted Citron und Mowed Lawn auf weißen Cardstock gemacht, dann habe ich sie mit einer der Stanzen ausgestanzt. In die Mitten der Rosetten habe ich dann noch jeweils einen kleinen Kreis geklebt. Die habe ich mit Handstanzen aus grünem und goldenem Metallic-Cardstock gestanzt.

Aus den selben Metallic-Cardstocks habe ich dann noch drei Girlanden aus dem Twisted Crepe Stanzenset, ebenfalls von TheGreetery, gestanzt und quer über den Hintergrund aufgeklebt.

 

Of course there has to be some party decor on a birthday card. I used the Pinwheel die and stencil set by TheGreetery and created some yellow and green pinwheels. I made those with Distress Ink Squeezed Lemonade and Mustard Seed as well as Twisted Citron and Mowed Lawn on white cardstock, then cut them out with one of the dies. In the center of each pinwheel I put a small circle, cut from green and gold metallic cardstock.

From the same metallic cardstock colors I cut three garlands from the Twisted Crepe die set, also by TheGreetery, and glued them across the background.

 

 Für den Cockatil kam, wie schon erwähnt, das Build-a-Drink Margarita Add-On Set zum Einsatz. Auch die Limettenscheibe am Glasrand ist aus diesem Set. Die anderen Elemente wie der Strohhalm, die Eiswürfel und das Cocktailschirmchen sind aus anderen Build-a-Drink Sets. Fragt mich nicht, aus welchen genau - ich habe die alle auf einer großen Magnetplatte und dort sind sie wild durcheinander gewürfelt. 

Das Glas habe ich aus hell-türkisfarbenem Cardstock gestanzt und mit Salvaged Patina leicht schattiert. Alle anderen Teile aus weißem Cardstock gestanzt und dann eingefärbt. Die Flüssigkeit im Glas habe ich mit Antique Linen und Shabby Shutters gewischt und dann Wasser aufgesprüht, so dass die Farben schön verlaufen. Die anderen Elemente sind wieder mit Twisted Citron, Mowed Lawn, Squeezed Lemonade und Mustard Seed gemacht. Auf den Strohhalm habe ich mit Mowed Lawn und ein wenig Rustic Wilderness Streifen aufgewischt. Die Eiswürfel sind aus Vellum gestanzt.

Und natürlich braucht so eine Margarita einen Zuckerrand am Glas. Im Set ist eine Stanze dafür vorhanden, ich wollte den Zucker aber komplett um den Glasrand herum. Also habe ich einfach dick Flüssigkleber aufgetragen und dann Rock Candy Distress Glitter aufgestreut. Der Kleber trocknet klar und der Zuckerrand sieht super realistisch aus.

Unten am Glas habe ich noch eine halbe Limette von MFT - wieder aus weißem Cardstock gestanzt und mit den bereits erwähnten Farben gewischt - angebracht und als Deko kleine weiße Blüten angeklebt. Die sind aus dem Zesty Lemon Stanzenset von LawnFawn. 

Hinter dem Cocktail habe ich dann noch Strahlen auf den Hintergrund gewischt - der war mir ein wenig zu langweilig. Ich habe dafür die Focal Point Stencil von Create a Smile und Distress Ink Salvaged Patina benutzt.

 

For the cocktail I used the Build-a-Drink Margarita Add-On, as I said already. Also the lime on the brim of th glass is from this set. The other elements, like the straw, the icecubes and the little cocktail umbrella, are from other Build-a-Drink sets. Don't ask me, which ones exactly - I have them all on one large magnetic sheet and they are not really sorted on it.

I die cut the glass from light aqua cardstock and lightly shaded it with Salvaged Patina. All the other elements I cut from white cardstock and inked them. The liquid in the glass I made with Antique Linen and Shabby Shutters, then sprayed the ink with water so the colors run into each other. To color the other elements I used Twisted Citron, Mowed Lawn, Squeezed Lemonade and Mustard Seed again. I inked  some stripes onto the straw with Mowed Lawn and a bit of Rustic Wilderness. The icecubes I cut from vellum. 

And of course a margarita needs a sugared brim. There's a die in the set to cut one from paper, but I wanted it to go all around the brim. So I applied a thick layer of liquid glue and covered it with Rock Candy Distress Glitter. The glue dies clear and the sugar brim looks amazingly realistic.

I added a half of a lime - again cut from white cardstock and inked with the colors already mentioned, using a die by MFT - to the bottom of the glass and also two small white flowers. Those are from Zesty Lemon by LawnFawn.

Behind the cocktail I inked  some rays onto the background - it just was missing something. I used the Focal Point stencil by Create a Smile and Distress Ink Salvaged Patina for it.

 

 Für den Text habe ich die Cheers-Stanze von MFT benutzt und das Wort einmal aus weißem Cardstock und einmal aus grünem Metallic-Cardstock gestanzt. Die beiden Teile habe ich leicht versetzt aufeinander- und dann leicht überlappened neben das Glas geklebt. Eine weitere weiße Blume dient als Deko. 

Der Rest des Textes is aus S'More the Merrier und mit Mowed Lawn direkt auf den Hintergrund gestempelt.

 

For the text I used the Cheers die by MFT and cut it once from white cardstock and once from green metallic cardstock. I stacked both words a bit offset and then glued them next to the glass, overlapping it slightly. Then I added another small white flower.

The rest of the text is from S'More the Merrier and stamped with Mowed Lawn directly onto the background.

 

 Den Drink samt der angebrachten Deko habe ich mit dünnem 3D Tape aufgeklebt. 

Oben rechts sahen die Rosetten irgendwie nackig aus, also habe ich zwei türkisfarbene Herzen darauf geklebt und noch drei weitere davon auf der Karte verteilt - eine davon in die Mitte der Limettenscheibe am Rand des Glases.

Zum Schluss habe ich alles auf einen weißen Kartenrohling geklebt.

 

I adhered the drink and attached decoration with thin foam tape. 

The pinwheels in the top right corner seemed a bit plain so I glued two turquoise clay hearts on top and then added three more to the card, one of them onto the center of the lime on the glass.

Then I adhered the card panel to a white note card.

Heute habe ich eine Geburtstagskarte direkt aus der Natur für Euch, gemacht mit Stanzen, Stencils und Stempeln von WaffleFlower.

 

Hello everyone!

Today I have a birthday card for you, made with dies, stencils and stamps by WaffleFlower.

 

 Von WaffleFlower gab es im Juli-Release einen Holzmuster-Stencil mit passender Stanze. Und da mich die an die Rinde eines Baumes erinnert, wollte ich eine Karte machen, bei der es so aussieht, als hätte jemand den Text in den Baum geritzt.

Den Hintergrund habe ich mit einem Stück weißen Cardstocks gestartet, in den ich den Woodgrain Texture gestanzt habe. Die Stanze stanzt das Muster ins Papier, schneidet aber die äußeren Kanten nicht. So was liebe ich, weil die Stanzen so viel vielseitiger einsetzbar sind. 

Anschließend habe ich die dazu passenden Woodgrain Stencils auf den Cardstock gelegt und das Rindenmuster mit Distress Ink Pumice Stone und Scorched Timber aufgewischt. Beide Farben habe ich jeweils einmal hell und einmal kräftiger aufgetragen, so ist das Muster nicht zu fad und trotzdem Ton in Ton.

Mit einem weißen Gelstift habe ich einige Linien entlang der Stanzlinien hervorgehoben und später noch weiße Acrylfarbe aufgespritzt.

 

In their july release WaffleFlower had a woodgrain stencil and die. And since it reminded me of the bark of a tree I wanted to make a card, where someone seemed to have carved the birthday greeting into a tree. 

I started my background with white cardstock and cut the Woodgrain Texture into it. The die cuts the pattern but no edges around the pattern. I love this because it makes this die so much more versatile. 

I used the matching Woodgrain stencil set to add the colored stripes to the cardstock using Distress Ink Pumice Stone and Scorched Timber. I applied each color light and dark to have a quite obvious pattern but still keep it tone in tone.

I highlighted a few of the cut lines with a white gel pen and later splattered white acrylic paint onto the cardstock.

 

 Mit der Happy Birthday Script Stanze habe ich dann den Text in den Cardstock gestanzt und die kleinen Zwischenstücke des Musters aufgehoben. Da das Holzmuster beim Stanzen des Textes etwas plattgedrückt wurde, habe ich anschließend die Woodgrain Texture Stanze nochmal aufgelegt und erneut durch die Big Shot gekurbelt.

Mit dünnem 3D Tape habe ich dann hellbraunen Cardstock hinter das ausgestanzte Wort geklebt, so als würde man hier das Innere des Baumes sehen. Da der Cardstock so komplett einfarbig irgendwie komisch aussah, habe ich mit hellen Copics den Text nochmal nachgemalt. Das ist nicht perfekt geworden, aber beim Ritzen in einen Baum hat man ja auch nicht überall die selbe Tiefe. Anschließend habe ich auch die kleinen Stücke in und zwischen den Buchstaben wieder aufgeklebt.

Über dem Text habe ich einen Schmetterling angebracht. Der ist aus hellrosa farbenem Cardstock mit dem kleinsten der Schmetterlinge aus dem Set Butterfly Blossom gemacht und mit Copics schattiert habe. 

Als Textergänzung habe ich dann noch ein "have an amazing day" aus dem Set Inside Sentiments Birthday weiß auf ein Stück grau-braunen Cardstock embosst und unter dem eingestanzten Happy Birhtday quer über die Karte geklebt.

 

I used the Happy Birthday Script die to cut the greeting into the cardstock, keeping the little pieces that get cut from inside the letters. Since the woodgrain pattern got flattened a bit when cutting out the text I simple put the die back in place and ran the cardstock through the Big Shot again.

Using thin foam tape I applied some light brown cardstock behind the cut out word, as if you'd see the inside of a tree here. The plain, one colored cardstock looked a bith strange so I used some light brown Copics to re-draw  the text. It didn't turn out perfectly, but when carving something into a tree you never end up with the same depth in every spot, too. Then I glued those small pieces inside and between the letters back in place.

Above the text I added a little butterfly. It's cut from light pink cardstock using the smallest butterfly from Butterfly Blossom, then shaded with Copics.

As a subsentiment I white heat embossed a "have an amazing day" from Inside Sentiments Birthday onto some grey-ish brown cardstock and glued it across the background, right under the cut out "happy birthday". 

 

 Unten an den Rand der Karte habe ich zwei Blumen und einige Blätter aufgeklebt, so als würden hier Pflanzen am Baum nach oben wachsen. 

Für die Blumen habe ich die Sunflower Stanzen verwendet. Ich wollte nicht, dass die Sonneblumen so nach Sonnenblumen aussehen, und habe die obere Lage der Sonnenblumen jeweils einmal aus hellem und einmal aus mittlerem Rosa, die hintere Lage aus dunkelrosa Cardstock gestanzt. Die Blumenmitten sind aus grünem Cardstock gestanzt. Außerdem habe ich aus grünem Cardstock noch zwei Sonneblumenblätter sowie einige der kleinen Blätter aus dem Set Floral Anchor gestanzt. Dann habe ich alle Teile mit Copics schattiert und auf den Hintergrund geklebt.

 

To the bottom edge of the card I glued two flowers and a few leaves, just like those are growing climbing up the tree. 

For the flowers I used the Sunflower dies. I didn't want them to look like sunflowers so I cut the top layer of each flower once from light and once from middle pink, the bottom layer from dark pink cardstock. The flower centers I cut from green carstock. Also from green cardstock I cut two sunflower leaves and some of the small leaves from Floral Anchor. Then I shaded all the pieces with my Copics and adhered them to the background.

 

 Den Schmetterling und die große Blume habe ich mit dünnem, die kleinere Blume mit dickem 3d Tape aufgeklebt.

Als Deko habe ich noch drei braune Herzen auf der Karte verteilt und dann alles auf einen weißen Kartenrohling geklebt.
