What I’m doing now

I’m building again, writing about product craft, and helping early-stage teams hire and support their first product manager. Read more about my background.

  • Building again. After leaving GitHub, I returned to founding and am now building a new company in stealth.

  • Writing about product craft. I share practical ideas on product leadership, AI products, and the transition from founder-led product to a strong product function.

  • Helping teams hire and support their first PM. I help founders make the right first product hire, then coach that PM as they grow into the role.

  • Mentoring product people. I mentor on MentorCruise, giving PMs and founders an experienced sounding board for the messy, uncertain parts of the role.

My perspective comes from building at both ends of the product spectrum: founder-level ambiguity and platform-scale execution.

  • GitHubLed Issue fields and semantic search, alongside the major React rewrite of the Issues experience, inside a mature product organisation operating at global scale.
  • ProdsightFounded an AI customer-feedback product, took it from idea to growth, and sold the company to Playvox in 2022.
  • PlayvoxLed multiple product teams at a Series B company and created AutoQA, bringing AI into customer-support quality workflows.
  • 0-to-1 product workBuilt early products as a founding PM and agency product manager, working directly with founders through ambiguity, discovery, and first traction.

Support for your first PM

I help founders hire their first product manager, from defining the role and running interviews to choosing the right person. I also coach first PMs after they join, giving them an experienced, confidential sounding board so they can become effective faster.
