Shadows in the mist dancing footprints on sparkling moss silent glimpse behind birch trees Fine voices whispering through blizzards echoes in the wind like murmurs of timeless old telling ancient tales Enchanted spirits, free and wise hidden, but near watching over nature’s treasure (by Lea Gasser)

(IS) Sofðu unga ástin mín úti regnið grætur. // (EN) Sleep my young love, Outside the rain is weeping. Mommy keeps watch over your gold, Old leg bones and a little treasure chest. Let's not stay awake through dark nights. There is much that darkness knows, My mind is heavy. Often I've seen the black sand Scorching green meadows. In the glacier rumble deadly-deep cracks. Sleep long, sleep tight, It's best to wake up late. Hardship will teach you soon, While the day becomes night, That people love, lose, cry and mourn. (by Jóhann Sigurjónsson)

about

“I'm happy to present you the second album of my 5tet. I wrote most of the songs during a two-month residency in Iceland. 10 years ago, I had already travelled around the island on my bike and fell in love with the vast and lonely landscapes. That trip filled me with deep inspiration. Last year's stay in the north allowed me to slow down and concentrate on my creative work - a luxury in our fast-paced world. Between squalls, endless days of sunshine, dense fog, leaking glaciers and volcanic eruptions, I created new pieces that tell stories of elves and trolls. Delicately realised and further developed with my fellow musicians, my ideas come to life. I wish you a good journey!” - Lea, May 2025
