Fernando Kep releases "FAT KEP", a 5-track EP produced by ANTCONSTANTINO, Chediak & Taleko by Leigo Records.
Work also features instrumentals signed by Meio Feel, Matesu, Druk Beats, Taleko and Chediak.
Fernando Kep was another one who found in Grime the ideal space to fit his rhymes in electronic beats.
"I've always attended electronic music at parties in my city", says the carioca born in Macaé, "and I kept thinking how I could rap with it. I never took it forward because it always seemed to me to be a very abstract idea."
From 2019 onwards, when he got to know the genre, the MC and producer started to turn his work towards the style, meeting and exchanging with other active names in the scene - some of them present in the "FAT KEP" EP.
"I met ANTCONTANTINO when I recorded my participation in the Brasil Grime Show, and since then I already felt like working with him on his own work because he is a very didactic guy", says the MC. The production of the EP had a selection of 16 beats that passed through the sieve of ANTCONSTANTINO until reaching the choice of the final tracks.
"The most interesting thing about having delved into Grime's studies was the ease it brought me to compose over the beats", concludes the MC when commenting on the track "PRO PIXO", a track produced by Taleko, Chediak and ANTCONSTANTINO that appeared during the recording of the EP, made in São Pedro da Aldeia, in Rio de Janeiro - at Taleko's house.
Following classic 4x4 rhyming metrics, Kep trained and adapted his flow during the production process of "FAT KEP", studying UK references and putting together a team of Brazilian beatmakers whose work perfectly matches the British aesthetic.
