Dustin Commet’s review published on Letterboxd:
Its interesting to see the company return to it's roots and use cute animals in order to practice and improve their animation the same way they did with the 2D movies when they felt that was needed for newer staff. This is certainly the most technically competent of the CGI movies. However, the movie is not very interesting. It's story is a mix and match of various different things slammed together into one conglomerate that is lesser than all it's pieces and the characters are really feeling the effect of celebrity casting with plenty of stunted performances. There's some cute stuff and a few funny gags, but it's few and far between. Set up two monitors next to each other and play The Truman Show on one and Homeward Bound on the other and you'll probably have a better time.
