Installing the command-line executable

Assuming you have Rust/Cargo installed, run this command in a terminal:

cargo install cato

It will make the cato command available in your PATH if you've allowed the PATH to be modified when installing Rust. cargo uninstall cato uninstalls.

cato

A file catenation tool written in Rust.

Usage

Usage: cato [OPTIONS] [FILES]...

Arguments:
  [FILES]...  file(s) to read

Options:
  -b, --number-nonblank   Number nonempty output lines, overrides -n
  -e                      Equivalent to -vE
  -E, --show-ends         Display $ at the end of each line
  -n, --number            Number all output lines
  -s, --squeeze-blank     Suppress repeated empty output lines
  -t                      Equivalent to -vT
  -T, --show-tabs         Display TAB characters as ^I
  -u                      (ignored)
  -v, --show-nonprinting  Use ^ and M- notation, except for LFD and TAB
  -h, --help              Print help
  -V, --version           Print version
