Senior Vice President and Commercial Banking Market Executive

As senior vice president and commercial banking market executive, Robert Milas heads up the Long Island team for Citizens Bank. He is building and deepening the Citizens commercial banking brand, with a focus on providing working capital support and treasury management solutions for the core middle market.
Milas has been caring for Long Island banking customers for the past 34 years, beginning with Chemical Bank in 1991. Following Chemical Bank credit training, he spent about 10 years as an asset-based lending banker. In 2000, he began working at Fleet Bank as a portfolio and relationship manager and transitioned to the commercial banking group. In 2003, as part of a five-person team, he joined North Fork Bank as a relationship manager to help build out the bank’s Long Island commercial banking and mid-corporate platforms.
In 2007, Milas began a 16-year journey at Wachovia Bank/Wells Fargo, again helping to build out the Long Island commercial and mid-corporate businesses. He served in several roles and in 2019 became the bank’s Long Island commercial banking leader. He joined Citizens Bank in June 2023.
Milas grew up in Stony Brook and earned his Bachelor of Business Administration from Pace University. He and his wife, Lisa, live in Huntington and have two adult daughters, Catherine and Allison.
Active in the community, Milas serves on the board of the Long Island Association and the Long Island Risk Management Association and is on the executive committee for the American Heart Association. He is also an active supporter of the Long Island MS Society. He is an avid fisherman and golfer.
