Many people’s photos sit on our devices or up in the cloud, and it is very rare nowadays that people print them off. If you scrapbook, you will know that it can be time-consuming and expensive, but what if I told you could do the same thing in minutes for a fraction of the cost online?
Guide to Making an Online Digital Scrapbook Album With My Picture
Making an online digital Photo Book with My-picture leaves you with a fantastic personalised keepsake you can scroll through and treasure forever. I made some amazing photo books with My-picture of our recent travels and even took it one step further by adding my own personalised clip art.
How to make an online digital scrapbook album and add your own personalised clip art with My-picture.
Creating a photo book online with your pictures and adding clip art can be a fun and creative way to preserve memories. I tried out My-picture, which has a huge range of choice of gifts and photo books to home accessories.
My picture offers many different types of photo books with various templates, customisation options, and tools to add clip art. They offer a variety of book options, from hardback to paperback, and different sizes, from 10cm up to 44cm.
Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to make an Online Digital Scrapbook Album With My-picture to help you get started. I will show you how I created an A4 hardback photo scrapbook album, which is perfect for travels, weddings and more. I also made some quick books which are great for small keepsakes and gifts.
Get Started by creating an account with My-picture and logging in
It is best to create an account so you can upload your photos all in one place.

Select your chosen book.
Depending on how many photos you have and the reason for making the book you have many options. If you only have a few photos a mini album might be all you need. If you have lots of photos you want to include, then opt for a bigger album.
Here I went for an A4 hardback book. I later made some mini Quick Books.
Select a Template or Start from Scratch
There are a few options to choose from when making your album;
- Browse templates: Choose a design that fits the theme of your photo book (e.g., travel, wedding, family).
- Choose the colour option of the book. There are many colour options to choose from. If you add these options, it will apply to your whole book.
- Start from scratch: If you want full control, you can start with a blank template.
I opted for white plain so I could decide on my own page colour scheme according to the photos.
Upload Your Photos to My-picture
Organise your photos before uploading for easier placement. I did this on my iPhone by dropping them into an album all in one place.
After uploading drag and drop your photos into the photo book’s layout.
Choose whether to autofill your book with photos or add as you go. Here, you can adjust the size, orientation, and position of each photo. If you want to have your photos in a particular order, then opt to add them yourself.
This just shows you how much you can personalise the books individually.
If you are not feeling particularly creative, you can do this automatically, and your photo book will be filled with photos.
Customise Your Layouts
Move photos around to create a balanced design. You can drop your photos in by clicking on the grey photo box. If you want more photos on a page, you can click the more or less cross to add them.
You can also shuffle your pictures on a page or change the template entirely, giving you lots of options.
Add text to your Photo Book
You can add text boxes for captions, titles, or quotes.
Change backgrounds
There are lots of background options to choose from. Look for backgrounds that can complement your photos. Choose from themed backgrounds or plain colours.
You can also add a whole picture as a background. If you add a background to a page it will give you the option to add it to every left page or every right page for and instant cohesive look.
Upload Clip Art
My-picture does have Built-in Clip Art but you can also add your own. To do this you upload your own clipart into photos section. They must be a background free PNG file’s.
Upload your clipart once you have your photos in place, especially if adding pictures automatically; otherwise, the clip art may take the place of the picture.
Drag and drop the clip art from either the clip art section or add your own Clip art from the photo section onto your pages. You can resize, rotate, and move the clip art to fit your design.
When dragging your own clip art from photos, take care to drag to an empty space and not onto a photo, as it will replace the photo. Once on the page you can resize it and move it.
You can find my New York Clip Art here.
Add frames to your page.
You can add coloured frames around your photos to make them stand out. This is particularly good if you have added a photo background as it it enables the photo on top to be more noticable.
Review Your Photo Book And Place Your Order
Before you order your book, use the following checklist to make sure it is ready:
- Preview the entire book to ensure everything looks the way you want.
- Check for spelling errors if you’ve added text.
- Ensure all photos are positioned correctly, and nothing important is cut off.
- Select your preferred book size, cover type, and paper quality.
Additional Tips :
- High-Resolution Photos: Make sure your photos are high-resolution to avoid any blurriness in print.
- Experiment with Layouts: Don’t hesitate to try different layouts and arrangements until you’re satisfied.
- Incorporate Themes: Use clip art that matches the theme of your book for a cohesive look.
Making a quick book in My-picture
I also made a few Quick books, and they are really quick! The quick books are so much fun and make great gifts and stocking fillers, too, as they start from just £4.
I chose to make 3 different mini quick books of our three recent trips to Glastonbury festival.
For each one I chose the smallest pocket size book of just 10cm Square.
I uploaded around 20 of my best photos from each event and chose one template for each book.
The Quick Book option is made by book in minutes! All I did was swap a few photos around from the back to the front until they were where I wanted them. You can also make some of the photos bigger or smaller or add more if you wish.
Adding your Own Clip Art to a Quick Book
For the third book, I opted for the plain version, and I added my own clip art to the pages. Upload your clipart after the photos have been added, and then you can move them around the page.
You can change the writing on the front as well as the writing on the spine.
The photo books are excellently designed with a spine that allows you to open the books easy to be seen. They are thick, quality pages that are quite sturdy.
What else do My-picture do?
My-picture not only does photo books but also gives you the option to make a variety of other gifts and personalised creations.
You can make all of these photo gifts on My-picture,
