Hiding (also referred to as banishing) a unit causes it to temporarily disappear from the game.
Mechanics
[edit]Hide renders the unit unable to move, attack, cast abilities and items. Most Hide sources also turn the affected unit invulnerable. Hidden units still gain Experience and Gold
. While hidden, a unit cannot be affected by any abilities, with some exceptions (e.g. Shadow Poison). For example, a Meat Hook would just fly through and possibly hit a unit behind the hidden unit.

Piercing Hidden

Dispel abilities cannot target hidden units, but will fully affect hidden units.
Forced Movement does not stop due to the fact of hide itself, but can stop due to stun and other reasons.
Spell Block only triggers on an hidden unit if the spell can negatively affect hidden unit, or if the spell can bounce off it. Bounce spells do not consider an hidden unit as valid new target, however if the unit becomes hidden after being targeted, the spell will still bounce off it.
Interactions with enemies:
Affects hidden enemy only under specific source4
- 4 Unlike any other abilities, these can damage hidden units. However, they do it only if enemy affected by specific hidden sources.
- 5 Only affects the unit under Astral Imprisonment.
- 6 The following abilities and its effects, regardless of its source, fully affects the affected hero under the most recent Disruption cast by Shadow Demon.

Debuff Immunity

Map Interactions
[edit] Scan and Crystal Ball ignores hidden units.
Rejuvenation Aura ignores invulnerable units.
Tower Protection ignores invulnerable units.
Hidden heroes can't Pluck Lotus or pause process.
Hidden heroes can't Gather Experience or pause process.
Hidden units still block spawn of Neutral Creeps.
Hidden units also do not count towards the triggering of certain neutral creeps abilities.
Hidden heroes are not taken into account when determining whether there are heroes nearby Tormentor.
