• In DotA, this item is named Guinsoo's Scythe of Vyse, as a tribute to one of the developers of DotA, who went to create League of Legends.
• This item is known by many players (and referred to by several in-game Heroes) as "Sheepstick".
  • This name is based on Hex model used in DotA, which is a sheep.
  • The shop's search bar also accepts sheepstick or just sheep as a search term for Scythe of Vyse.
• The item's name may be a reference to Vyse, the main character of Skies of Arcadia, who had a scythe in some of his early concept arts.
