Sketch N Scrap Card Sketch #175

Hello, everyone! Happy Wednesday to you! I hope that you are having a good week. We have been having gorgeous weather for the last few days and I am really enjoying it! It's kind of getting me in the mood for fall!

It's time for the first card sketch of the month at Sketch N Scrap today, and Lisa has a great sketch to get the month started. It is one I can see myself using again!

I am really trying to make an effort to use my Great Stash Bash kit for this month. Since I had included the 6x6 paper pad, I thought I would use it for my card today. This is what I came up with:

These papers are from an older Simple Stories collection - A Charmed Life. I really love the green/blue/yellow color combo in this collection. When I cut one of the papers, the backside had one of the cut apart cards still intact, so I thought I would use it for my top layer. The lines aren't necessarily running the intended direction, and I covered up what was printed on the card with my flowers, but I think it looks okay!

I stamped the sentiment (Hero Arts) with Outdoor Denim ink from Close To My Heart and matted it on a lighter blue paper. The yellows are showing up a bit more orangy/gold than what they are in person...I just couldn't get it to show true. I am so ready for my camera cord to get here...

Head on over to Sketch N Scrap to see the beautiful cards from the rest of the design team. I would love to see your take on the sketch, too!

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog today! Have a great day!

Sketch N Scrap Card Sketch #170

Hello, hello! Happy Hump Day! We are inching ever closer to the big Memorial Day holiday weekend here in the states and the unofficial kick-off to summer. I am going to be anxious to see how this summer goes.

It's time for a new sketch at Sketch N Scrap today. Lisa has created a great sketch for us to work with and it is another one that I know I will be using again!

And here is my card:

I just recently got a few pieces of the Simple Stories Summer Farmhouse collection and couldn't wait to put it to use. These fun bright colors are just what I was needing to work with. We have been dealing with cool, cloudy, dreary days for over a week now and I needed something bright and sunny in my life!

All of these papers are from the 6x8 paper pad and the sentiment piece is a 3x4 cut apart card that I cut down to about a 3x3 size. I tried adding some sort of embellishment to the lower left corner of that piece but with the cut apart card being a floral print everything just seemed to get lost on it, so I left it plain. I didn't really want to cover up those flowers anyway!

Be sure to stop by Sketch N Scrap to see the beautiful cards from the rest of the design team. We would love it if you played along with us!

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog today! Have a great day!

Thinking of You - Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #362

Hello, everyone! Happy Tuesday to you! I hope that you are having a good week so far. I thought I would pop in here really quickly and share the card I created for this week's card sketch at Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge. Here's a look at the sketch:

This is such a great sketch with a lot of possibilities! I know I will be using it again!

Here is the card that I created:

I found this blue floral paper in my scraps and it was just the right size for a card front. Maybe I had had plans for it once before! I embossed the white torn strip with my swiss dot embossing folder to add a little interest to the plain white cardstock.

The sentiment is from Close To My Hearts - Card Captions (S1901) - stamp set. I stamped it in their Glacier ink, which was a really good match! I pulled out an old flower punch and punched 3 flowers and added a silver glitter gem to the center of each flower.

Here is a close-up:

A really quick and easy card all ready to be sent out!

Be sure to stop by the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge blog tomorrow to see the beautiful cards from the rest of the design team and last week's Top 3. I hope you find some time to play along with us this week!

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog today! I hope you have a great day!

Sketch N Scrap Card Sketch #153

Hello, everyone! Happy Thursday to you! This week seems to be moving right along.

It's time for the first card sketch of the month at Sketch N Scrap today. Heather has created our first card sketch of the month and I can see myself using this one again!

Here is my card based on the sketch:

When I saw the main panel on the sketch I knew I would be using a pretty floral paper and this paper from Jen Hadfield's "Everyday" 6x6 paper pad was exactly what I was looking for. Those pretty little pink flowers just make me happy!

How lucky that my sentiment was the perfect size for the front panel! It is from my favorite go-to set from Hero Arts. I can't find a name for this set but it has so many good sentiments in it and I use it all the time.

Head on over to Sketch N Scrap to see the beautiful cards from the rest of the design team. I hope you have some time to play along with us this month!

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog today! Have a great day!

Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #316

Hello, everyone! I am coming to you with a "late" night post! That's something that doesn't happen too often, but the busyness of May has put me behind on a few things!

Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge has a new sketch posted this week and I would love to see your take on it, too! I have a feeling I will be using this one again.

For my card, I have used papers from my May Counterfeit Kit Challenge Kit. You can read all about it here. That cute flowered paper is actually the other side of the red paper with the pink scallops in my kit.

I must admit that when I made my card I didn't have the sketch directly in front of me - I was going more by memory - which explains why I didn't actually use the cute banner piece for my sentiment. I think it looks just as good without the banner piece on there, too, but I will be making another card with the banner piece soon.

Be sure to stop by Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge to see the full design team reveal tomorrow and last week's Top 3! I can't wait to see what you create with the sketch!

Thanks so much for stopping by and have a good night!

Tuesday Morning Sketches #501

Hello, everyone! Good Tuesday morning!

It's time for a new sketch at Tuesday Morning Sketches! If you missed my winner's post from our 500th Sketch Blog Hop - you can see it here.

This week we have another great sketch created by Melissa:

Here is what I came up with for the sketch:

I used Carta Bella's - Flower Market - 6x6 paper pad and washi tape for this card. The washi tape got a little lost on the card when I put it directly on the pink paper
so I added it to a piece of white cardstock to help it show up a bit more.

I popped up the sentiment piece with a bit of foam tape and added a puffy heart underneath the sentiment. A pretty quick and easy card all ready to go!

Be sure to stop by Tuesday Morning Sketches to see the beautiful cards from the rest of the design team. We would love to see you playing along with us this week!

Thanks so much for stopping by today! Have a great day!

Tuesday Morning Sketches #497

Hello, everyone! Good Tuesday morning to you! I hope that your week is off to a good start.

Tuesday Morning Sketches has a new sketch posted for you today and it is one with a lot of possibilities! Here is the sketch that Debbie has created:

I just love this pretty floral paper from the My Mind's Eye "Splendor" 6x6 paper pad. Those little flowers are just so pretty! I left off the embellishment on that main paper panel - mostly because I thought everything I tried just got lost on it, but also because I didn't want to cover up the pretty paper!

I actually pulled out my oval dies and used them for my sentiment. I really think my aversion to using ovals is because I don't have a good variety of them...maybe I need to look into adding a few more to my supplies!

Head on over to the Tuesday Morning Sketches blog to see the beautiful cards from the rest of the design team. We can't wait to see what you create with this sketch!

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog today! I hope you have a great day!

AHSC #294 - Thinking Of You

Hello, everyone! I was about to let the day get away without sharing my card for this week's sketch at Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge.

Here is a look at this week's sketch:

And here is my take on it:

For my card I have used the - Just Be You - 6x6 paper pad from Echo Park. I changed things up a bit from the sketch. Try as I might, I could not get my card to look like right if I followed the sketch exactly - that long rectangular piece was throwing me off. Once I took it off I was much happier with my card.

I punched two tiny flowers and added them to the sentiment - in the general vicinity that they are in the sketch. I also added in 3 dots punched from one of the patterned papers and added them to the top right corner of my card.

I've said it before - that the great thing about sketches is that they're a starting point - you can change them up however you want to suit you!

Be sure to stop by Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge tomorrow to see the full design ream reveal and the Top 3 from last week. I would love it if you had a chance to play along with us this week!

Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a great night!

Thinking Of You - Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #262

Hi, guys! I am back with one more project today - my card for this week's sketch challenge at Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge. Here is this week's sketch:

For my card, I have used Crate Paper's - Wonder - 6x6 paper pad. I just love this corally pink color! I made a set of lollipop flowers - which I think may be my favorite to make. They are just too cute! The sentiment is from a Hero Arts stamp set and it fits perfectly in the space.

This card came together really quickly once I got the little flowers made.

The full design team reveals will be up on the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge blog tomorrow, along with last week's Top 3, so be sure to stop back by and see the beautiful cards that have been created using this sketch.

Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a wonderful day!

Use Your Stuff #309 - Vellum

Hello and Happy Monday!  I hope that you had a good weekend. We had a nice lazy weekend at home - my favorite kind!

It's time for a new challenge at Use Your Stuff and this week Gail is challenging us to use vellum on our projects.

For my card, I kept it pretty plain and simple and went with a black and white color combo. I embossed a piece of vellum with my swiss dot embossing folder. I like the look of the embossed vellum and I need to remember to do it more often on my projects.

I used this week's sketch from Clean and Simple Stamping and the sentiment is from Close To My Heart (M1187). Here is a look at the sketch:

Head on over to Use Your Stuff to see how the rest of the design team used vellum on their projects. We would love to see your take on the challenge!

LTSCB #108 - April Showers Bring May Flowers

Hello, hello! I am back with my third post of the day. If you are looking for my Sketch N Scrap reveal or the Counterfeit Kit Challenge blog hop, just scroll on down.

Love to Scrap Challenge Blog has the April challenge posted today. This month our challenge is - April Showers Bring May Flowers.

We are once again using a stamp set from CAS-ual Fridays Stamps. For my card, I am using the - Pretty Posies - stamp set.

I stamped the small flower onto a couple of different pink patterned paper and then fussy cut them out. I popped up each of the light pink flowers with some foam tape and added a gem to the center of each of those flowers.

I stamped the sentiment on a piece of green paper, but I kind of wish I would have kept it all pink...maybe I'll go back and change it...we shall see.

I embossed the white panel with my Swiss dot embossing folder and outlined the edges of it with my black pen. I wrapped some white string around my card front and tied it in a bow. I really like the look of the white string on top of the white panel and it looks a lot better than anything else I tried!

Head on over to LTSCB to see the beautiful work from the rest of the design team. We would love to see your take on this month's challenge.

Thanks so much for stopping by. I will be right back with another project to share with you!

AHSC #250 - Thinking of You

Hello, everyone! Happy Tuesday to you! I hope your week is off to a good start!

It's a big week for us over at Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge. We are celebrating our 250th sketch this week! I cannot believe that I have been on the design team for 2 years now! They are such a great group of ladies to work with and I always love the sketches that Michelle creates. Here is this weeks great sketch:

For my card, I have used Jen Hadfield's - Everyday - 6x6 paper pad. The sentiment is from Close To My Heart - M1187 Thinking of You - and I think it was a perfect fit for this card. I felt like my card needed a little something more so I added a few enamel dots.

I think this sketch would make a super cute project life style card and I have put it on my to-do list for an upcoming project life spread.

Tomorrow will be the full design team reveal and last week's Top 3, so be sure stop by Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge tomorrow to check it out. We hope to see you playing along with this week's sketch. To celebrate the Top 3 will be awarded prizes this week! We can't wait to see what you create!

LTSCB #105 - Anything Goes

Hello, hello! I am back with my 3rd post for the day. If you are looking for my Sketch N Scrap reveal, please scroll down or go here. If you're looking for my Counterfeit Kit Challenge Blog Hop, please scroll down or go here.

Love To Scrap Challenge Blog is starting the year off with an Anything Goes challenge! A quick reminder of our rules - follow the specified theme, no more than 5 entries per challenge - all separate projects, must use stamping - rubber/clear stamps and digital stamps, all new projects, and link to your project post, not your entire blog. That's it - pretty easy peasy!

For January, we had the pleasure of working with a stamp set from CASual Fridays Stamps. I chose the "Pretty Posies" stamp set and here is my card using it.

I just love this big flower stamp and there are so many ways you can use this whole set! I colored the flower and leaf images with my Prima watercolor pencils. The colors are just so vibrant! Since the pink turned out to be pretty bright, I used Simple Stories - DIY Boutique - 6x6 paper pad.

Be sure to check out the Love To Scrap Challenge Blog to see more beautiful projects from the design team. We hope to see you playing along with us in the new year!

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  I will be right back with another project to share with you!

Use Your Stuff #291 - Woodgrain

Hello, everyone! Happy Monday to you! I hope that you had a good weekend and are ready for the new week.

We have a new challenge for you today at Use Your Stuff. This week Gail is challenging us to use some woodgrain in our projects. This could be paper, wood pieces, or woodgrain embossing folders.

Here is the card that I have created:

Hey, I've created something other than a Christmas card! It seems like those are the only types of cards that I have made these last couple of months! It was nice to create something different for a change.

I've used papers from Simple Stories - Homespun 6x6 paper pad - the first collection that I thought of when I saw this challenge. The sentiment is from a Hero Arts stamp set - CL582 - and stamped in versamark ink and heat embossed with Zing white embossing powder. I added a button from my stash to finish it off.

Head on over to Use Your Stuff to see the beautiful woodgrain projects from the rest of the design team. We hope you find some time to play along with us!

Our challenge for this week is - Animals! It can be any kind of animal that you choose.

I have used Doodlebug's "Flea Market" collection for my card today. I fussy cut this cute little fox out of one of the papers and everything else is scraps that I have been saving from this collection. I added a few enamel dots, and I had to add a little bow, too.

Thinking Of You with Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #230

Hello, again! I am back this afternoon with my take on this week's sketch challenge at Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge.

Here is a look at this week's sketch:

I can tell already that this is going to be one of my favorite sketches! I know I will be using it again.

I have used Simple Stories "Posh" 6x6 paper pad for this card.  I've said it before, but I love the colors in this collection - they are just so pretty! The "thinking of you" sentiment is from Close To My Heart and it just may be my new favorite!

Be sure to stop by Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge tomorrow for the full design team reveal and last week's top 3. I hope you get a chance to play along with us this week - I would love to see your take on the sketch.

Try Stampin' - Or Not - On Tuesday #340

Hello, hello! Happy Tuesday! I hope that your week is off to a good start!

I am back today with our newest sketch challenge at Try Stampin' - Or Not - On Tuesday, This week's sketch is courtesy of Kaylin and our optional challenge is "Petite Patterns".

For this card, I have used Fancy Pants' - Golden Days - 6x6 paper pad. The colors in this collection are some of my favorites and I thought these patterns were pretty petite! The sentiment is from Hero Arts - one of my go-to stamp sets. I inked the edges of all of the papers with Tim Holtz black soot distress ink.

Be sure to check out the Try Stampin' blog to see the lovely cards from the rest  of the design team. Our challenges always run for two weeks, so there's plenty of time to play along with us! You can enter your card on our blog or over on our Facebook page here.

Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #212

Hello again! I am back with one more card to share with you today! I am here to share my take on Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #212.

Here's a look at the sketch:

And here is my card:

I will be honest with you when I saw the two strips going across the card I really had no intention of adding both. I liked the strip at the bottom, but I thought the top strip was unnecessary. I even put the top pink strip down and took it back up a couple of times before I decided I would just leave it off. Then, I wanted to add a sentiment to the front of my card, and that top strip became totally necessary for me to use! That strip just looked so much better with the sentiment layered on top of it.

I embossed the background with a big dot embossing folder from The Paper Studio, and I used papers from Jen Hadfield's "Everyday" 6x6 paper pad. The flowers were fussy cut from one of the sheets. It was such a pretty paper, and I hated to cut into it, but I love those few fussy cut flowers on this card. The sentiment is from and Art C stamp and die set.

The full design team reveals will be up on the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge blog tomorrow.  Be sure to stop by and see how the rest of the team interpreted the sketch. I hope you have some time to play along with us. I would love to see your take on this sketch!

Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a great day!

Sketch N Scrap Card Sketch #95

Hello everyone! Happy Wednesday! It's time for the first card sketch of the month at Sketch N Scrap today. Heather has created a great sketch using my favorite thing - banners!

I pulled out a 6x6 paper pad from Pebbles called "Garden Party" for this card. I guess since I was in a spring type mood when I made this card, this seemed like the perfect collection! I made my favorite lollipop flowers as my accent. I have never been a flower girl, and I don't have a lot in my stash, so this lollipop flower is my go to flower when I need one! I love the way they look

Stop by Sketch N Scrap to see the cards from the rest of the design team. I am offering up the prize for April,  so check it out and play along for your chance to win!

Also, don't forget to mark your calendars! We are celebrating Sketch N Scrap's 5th birthday the whole month of May! You don't want to miss it!
