There are plenty of delicious ice creams, syrups, sauces, and toppings that you can buy or make for your homemade sundaes. Many of them are very easy to whip up at home for a quick sweet treat!

I personally love ice cream, and I have plenty of keto-friendly recipes that make the perfect base for an ice cream sundae. The best thing about making your own sundae at home is that you can make it just the way you like it.

Below, we are going to go over some delicious low-carb ice creams and a huge list of toppings so that you can learn how to build your own ice cream sundae at home!

Ingredients Needed To Make A Keto Ice Cream Sundae

For a delicious keto sundae, the options are nearly endless. Here are a few different ingredients you'll need to make a classic (but low-carb) ice cream sundae.

    Ice Cream

The star of any ice cream sundae is going to be... the ice cream! And you have plenty of yummy, low-carb ice cream options to go with!

A sundae can be made of all kinds of ice cream or could even be a combination of different flavors.

The classic vanilla ice cream is a traditional option - and you can go crazy with the ice cream sundae toppings! You could also go with the second classic option, which is chocolate ice cream. This recipe is made using avocados!

On the other hand, you could choose a more interesting option like this butter pecan ice cream recipe. Or, there are also fruity varieties like this blueberry ice cream or raspberry cheesecake ice cream recipe!

Just choose what sounds good to you!

    Syrups and Sauces

Another important part of building a sundae is having a syrup or an ice cream sauce to go on top.

This peanut butter sauce is a popular option, as well as sugar-free caramel sauce!

For a classic sundae, you could go with a traditional sugar-free hot fudge sauce or a lighter sugar-free chocolate syrup instead.

To mix things up, this blueberry sugar-free syrup will add a fruity flavor to your sundae!

    Ice Cream Sundae Toppings

The next (and arguably the most important) part of a sundae is the toppings. This is where the fun is! There are plenty of delicious and satisfying keto-friendly ice cream sundae toppings to choose from.

Keto whipped cream is the most popular topping for extra creaminess. For a fresher option, try adding fruits such as raspberries, blueberries, and strawberries to your sundae.

You could even throw on some unsweetened coconut flakes for a tropical flare.

For more fun, there are low-carb sprinkles that you can buy for extra pops of color on your dessert!

    ChocZero Toppings

ChocZero has some pretty amazing keto products that go great on top of sundaes as well!

If you don't feel like making your own syrups, you could always buy their chocolate syrup instead. They even offer almond butter syrup - which sounds amazing!

Top your sundae with their variety of dark, milk, and white chocolate peanut butter cups. Or, crumble up some of their keto chocolate bark which comes in all kinds of flavors.

ChocZero also offers a sugar-free take on classic chocolate chips that would be perfect on top of any sundae!

How To Make A Keto Ice Cream Sundae

Now that you know what you can build your keto ice cream sundae with let's put everything together!

    Pick Out Ingredients

Start by picking out the base, syrups, and toppings that you want to go into your ice cream sundae. Will you go with vanilla, chocolate, or fruit-flavored ice cream? Or, will you combine different flavors together?

What kinds of sauces and syrups will you add to your ice cream, and will it have whipped cream on top?

    Assemble Your Ice Cream Sundae

Now that you have carefully picked out what you want to go into your sundae, it is time to assemble it!

Start by adding your scoops of keto ice cream, then add any sauces or syrups. If you are going to add whipped cream, you can add it now before adding any additional toppings.

Then, top with everything your heart desires. Serve and enjoy immediately!

Frequently Asked Questions About Keto Ice Cream

Here are some questions people often ask about keto-friendly ice cream sundaes!

Can I eat ice cream on a keto diet?

If you are talking about normal, store-bought ice cream, then the answer is no. You can't eat most store-bought ice cream on a keto diet because it is typically very high in carbs.

However, you most certainly can have homemade keto ice cream! There are all kinds of low-carb ice creams that you can make at home to enjoy, and many are just as good as the real thing!

Can I use store-bought keto ice cream?

Although most store-bought ice creams are not low-carb, there are a few good keto ice cream brands out there that you can buy. This is a great option if you don't want to try to make your own keto-friendly ice cream for a sundae at home.

    Some of my favorites are:

    • Halo Top: Keto Series
    • KETO Ice Cream
    • Enlightened: Keto Collection
    • Rebel Creamery
    • Nick's
    • ALDI

Where can I buy keto chocolate for my sundae?

ChocZero has a large selection of sugar-free chocolate chips and chocolate bark. They even have peanut butter cups that are keto-friendly!

If you like very dark chocolate, Lindt 90% cocoa supreme chocolate bars are also keto-friendly. And, Lily’s Chocolate also carries many keto options that you can buy.
