Introduction: when and why to lock or freeze your Fizz card
Locking (freezing) your Fizz card is a fast way to stop new purchases if your card is misplaced, stolen, or you just want an extra layer of control. Fizz also includes SafeFreeze, which automatically locks the card as a safeguard when a daily payment is missed or your linked bank account balance is too low.
What Safe
Freeze does
-
Automatically locks the card when a daily Autopay fails or your linked bank balance is insufficient.
-
Blocks new authorizations while the lock is on; previously authorized transactions can still settle.
-
Helps prevent debt and overspending by pausing spending until you’re current and funded.
How to lock or freeze your card
-
Use the Fizz app to temporarily lock (freeze) your card. This is the fastest way to stop new transactions.
-
Can’t access the app? Contact Fizz Support via in‑app chat, email, or voicemail to request a freeze. Support channels are listed across policy pages (e.g., accessibility notes in site policies).
If your card is lost or stolen
-
Freeze the card immediately in the app to block new purchases.
-
Contact Support to report the card as lost/stolen and request a replacement.
-
Mastercard Zero Liability Protection applies for eligible transactions when you exercise reasonable care and report promptly.
