It’s a blatant stylistic choice on the part of Steven Zaillian, who wanted the limited series to feel foreboding and suspenseful, as opposed to the sunny and colorful aura that its idyllic setting can sometimes invoke.

But that’s how the book feels. Like a humid mediterranean summer. It’s daylight horror.

Why do I have to live in the grim darkness of the far future where there is neither plein nor soleil?

Jag lyssnade nyss på ett amerikanskt tävlingsprogram och frågan var vilken amerikansk situationskomedi hette “Daughter on the Fan” i Sverige. Svaret var “A Different World” som ju hette “Dotter på vift” här, första säsongen, sen när dom hade tvingat Lisa Bonet att sluta bytte den namn till Skolkompisar. Dom hade alltså översatt vift med “the fan” som i solfjäder. Ja jo en sån kan ju vifta 🤦🏻‍♀️

I’ve seen the first two episodes of The Acolyte.

So far Sol is the selling point of this show; what a performance. I’m happy they’re doing High Republic era stuff since that way they can avoid clobbering Legends too much. Overall I don’t love the show; I’d place it above both Obi-Wan and Ahsoka but down in the same tier as them, D-tier. With Andor being A-tier.

Wikipedia on the Westphall universe.

[T]he example of Michael Bloomberg playing the role of New York City Mayor both on Law & Order and in real life, which, if one accepts the logic of the hypothesis, indicates that real life is in the head of Tommy Westphall

Is that the proof Borgström was looking for?
