GIRLS' SYMBIOSIS

While this VN was in development, I remember seeing one of the CGs for it posted online; I believe it was the one with Millificent and Ember spooning in bed?  And when I saw it, someone had left a comment on it to the effect of, "This is how it felt to hook up in the psych ward."

I have to say, having read the full story now, that description feels as apt as ever, heheheh~

I could tell you had quite a lot of fun making this one, Harley, and I loved to see it~  I also loved to see all of your art: As ever, it was all very distinctive, highly expressive, and well-executed on a technical level.  In fact, the technical execution, visual presentation, and overall direction for the VN were on point from start to finish!

It was great fun watching the dynamic evolve between Milly and Ember, twisting from something openly predatory to a peculiar sort of affectionate "Making Her Worse" codependency, heheheh~  Hell, it's a small miracle in its own right that Ember managed to survive as long as she did to meet Milly, with how thoroughly and intensely prey-creature-coded she is; is it any wonder that the same thing happened to it at the same bar twice?  Perhaps it'd even happen a third time, were Ember left to its own devices there for long enough again...

But yes, great work as usual, Harley~

Really adored, as much as the last work I read by you. The art is fantastic. Your compositional work is always impressive. Millificent is perfect, and I really enjoyed Ember too. Millificent is the kind of girl I find myself thinking about often (and Ember too really but in a different way).

The layout / gui changes are really god too. I enjoy the smaller icons aas it keeps me focused on the words . Not that i couldn't help but stare at Ember or anything haha!

Reading this was an absolute trip, the twisted chemistry between Millicent and Ember is just utterly intoxicating to read and I was not ready for the story to be over; I need more of these two. Right from the moment Millicent appeared in the bar I was hooked, you have such an incredibly visceral writing style that makes everything hit so hard. All that and an utterly breathtaking artstyle definitely makes this one of my new favourite visual novels, I adored every minute of this.

holy peak, oh my fucking god

Even though I lead a much more(-ish) comfortable life - physically/materially - than Ember ever did, I can relate to both main characters, as within them, and as outwards of them. How they feel on the inside and what they express on the outside. also inward desires/outward desires? I don't fucking know

the beginning part where Millicent tried to care for Ember reminded me of a quote/saying that goes something like "you cannot make someone love you by loving them harder"!

also "live-in-girlfriend-dog" was kinda funny and the more technical/meta parts with uppercase names/name colors changing were pretty damn good too. It tells the story in a way only the inclusion of elements like these can.

Mill's dialogue is also perfect. crazy to admit to white text on a screen from an vn character flustering me so hard but, gosh. You did some amazing work here, I hope you know that! <3

ember living my masochistic dreams UGH i get her i'd also willingly submit myself to Mill. to spiral and get worse with someone, encouraging the darkest desire that lives inside, the yearning im feelinggg.

from the opening of ember "being between names", I felt so fucking connected to her. ember is a peak display of self-immolating & preservation-lacking girltype that I fuck with so hard, and find myself being from time to time. 

The density of CGs on display here is truly impressive too, as is the sheer act of making it all work in RPGMaker with this level of fluidity and polish!

The violence that you wrote here is fucking intoxicating, and hits all the right beats of mutually spiraling and egging each other on. God I love Ember so much ghsdfhdg

I downloaded this game and started playing it worried it might be gone if I didn't grab it now with everything going on and 

gosh

I feel very seen by this. I was kind of disappointed it was so short, actually; aspects of Ember, her disdain for her past self, how touch starved she is, her difficulty to speak what she wants, how she's been sort of made to be someone subservient to others and comes to realize she genuinely wants to be Mill's plaything/prey...Its embarrassingly relatable >.<

I started this title in particular because beyond being a fan of yuri and darker subjects I wanted to read something that made me jealous of one of the characters. The s/m angle of it was really hot and left me wanting to be in Ember's place at Mill's mercy myself. 

That said, beyond just the general "this is hot" I really appreciated the thoughtfulness and understanding of what trauma does to people, how it changes someone in ways that are really hard to escape and break out of, and even changes what people want. I also appreciate the inclusivity of it; Mill may be a vampiric predator, but gosh darn it she isn't a bigot. The writing was very good and I was constantly left wanting more. 

Finally had time to play it, I forgot it was for toxic yuri but the story was as intoxicating as they were for each other. Really loved it, when the power between predator and prey continiously shift while the role stay the same, it's always make interesting events. Really make me want to draw fanart of them now ^^'.

Love the game and writing, yes i'm the sameguy with the shity pc from newgrounds i dont think i will write a new review, only writing this for engagement

This was actually really wonderful to read... like, despite everything Ember's been through it feels really hopeful. The scene where her and Millicent are just sleeping and cuddling in bed was so cute... it sounds strange to say because of everything that happened through the story, but this made me really happy to read. <3

I also wanna add that your art is amazing, and that the music was really REALLY good!

This was a really intense read. I kept feeling taken aback by how much damage Ember was willing to take, and how much she wanted to take it
