- I love this film. Shows you can make a good, scary film on a low budget.AddedOct 26, 2011
- Kind of sad, like revenge stories tend to be.AddedOct 28, 2011
- cheesy, but I love watching Michelle Yeoh fight...AddedOct 28, 2011
- This movie is mind-blowing, even for Asian horror. Great Halloween film.AddedOct 31, 2011
- I cant actually remember if I've ever seen this one or just the first one, but I figured I'd watch it again anyway.AddedNov 2, 2011
- Been wanting to see this before I watched the remake "Let Me In", which received decent reviews.AddedNov 2, 2011
- Wasn't as bad as the reviews would suggest. I like Amber Tamblyn and thought this film had its moments.AddedNov 4, 2011
- This was one of those films I knew I'd eventually have to see just to have seen it. I don't think it was horrible, but I don't think it was wonderful either. It's actually not terribly gory, the horror lies in the implication rather than the showing. Their faces are covered with bandages so you only see some scars running up their cheeks.
Worth one see.AddedNov 4, 2011 - Strange. You keep feeling like something's about to happen.AddedNov 5, 2011
- At first I felt this film was good, but formulaic. However, while I knew there would be a twist ending (because there are ALWAYS twist endings), I truly did not see this one coming and, unlock many such endings, this one didn't undermine the whole first part of the movie.
I really liked this one, and by the time the twist comes you're emotionally invested in the characters so you feel the pathos.
Good.AddedNov 5, 2011 - Re-watch. I still like this movie. The US remake was, of course, terrible and nothing like the original.
This film isn't scary or frightening, rather it's eerie. The pace is slow, but that's the whole point. The end of the world comes like "a thief in the night". It's not a sudden dramatic event, but a slow, creeping, inexorable decay.AddedNov 7, 2011 - I must say I was disappointed by this film. There was, of course, much anticipation for RTSAC (among those who are into such things), especially since it heralded the return of the original Angela (Rose). However, while the first film was a strange, creepy, and ultimately disturbing little film, and the "Pamela" sequels were fun campy gore, this one couldn't seem to make up it's mind.
Although definitely darker in tone than the sequels, it still walked a not very interesting line between camp and horror, finally settling on neither.
Add to that the fact that the "sheriff" was so obviously a person in makeup and a uniform that was too big for them, and this film fails to scare, shock, or surprise.
A shame, really.AddedNov 7, 2011 - Fulci. 'Nuff said. You either love it or hate it.AddedNov 8, 2011
- One of the most truly disturbing films I've seen in a while. Forget "Human Centipede", see this...AddedNov 8, 2011
- You either loved this movie or hated it. I happened to have loved it. I like how the terror slowly grew to unbearable and yet nothing actually scary was ever really shown. It was all suggestion.
As I've said before. Films are made by limitations, not big budgets.AddedNov 8, 2011 - This is actually a much better film than I expected. The zombies are in some ways typical, but they also have some intelligence and, being military, are that much more formidable.
Time is taken to get somewhat of a feeling for the characters, and so you find yourself caring if they die or not. While to some degree they're cookie-cutter, they're also very eclectic and none are the usual "just assholes" that populate horror films so they be killed. These guys all of their strengths and weaknesses, quite a change from the typical "jock" characters of modern American horror.AddedNov 12, 2011 - Don't wanna hear it. I needed gory fluff.
Into the Inferno.AddedNov 14, 2011 - AddedNov 16, 2011
- AddedNov 20, 2011
- I always heard what a strange film this was and how violent. There certainly were a few brutal kills, but on the whole it was violence free. Or rather, the violence it was talking about was psychological abuse.
It had some weird surreal moments (what was up with the guy and the ear?), but, perhaps because I'm a fan of Asian horror where they never explain anything to you, I thought it basically was a very simple story.
Not bad.AddedNov 24, 2011 - I am enjoying this more than I should. Rutger Hauer scares the hell out of me and it's only getting more so as he gets older...AddedNov 29, 2011
- Basically the same as Saw, but while I didn't really care for those movies, I kind of like this one.AddedDec 2, 2011
- Again, perhaps not technically a "horror" film, but one that chronicles something much worse than a slasher.AddedDec 5, 2011
- AddedDec 6, 2011

- Classic Barbara Steele, when the gore was awful and the suspense awesome.AddedMay 13, 2012
