this movie was a life saver while stuck waiting for my car to be serviced. Graphics were crisp. Plot was entertaining.

While I agree with others this plot was slow. I felt it was realistic, believable, and I hate to say entertaining as people really died! I was so intrigued that I researched the true story on imdb. I was also intrigued to know the sharks were real!

It was some time ago that I watched this, during a bout of recovery-however, I remember it being captivating. This was one I didn't research ahead, merely went off title. Most things Will Smith involves himself with are entertaining! He seems like cool peeps!

Very well played! But of course...Sly & Phylicia Rashad don't star in bad movies! "Michael Jordan" is becoming a favorite. He did his thing ???? ????
Tessa Thompson's character looked as well as reminded me of Lisa Bonet.

The finale was realistic!
I appreciate that it was not needlessly gory!

Wholesome, clean, family movie ...

I had hoped, as the description indicates, this would be a moving family film with an inspiring message central to a family road trip (e.g. exploring the mother-daughter dynamic)...and it did!


Though it fell light on content, I did "feel" something--anger, humor, relief.


What pleased me most was that a captivating film was made devoid of sexual encounters, obscene language and offensive gimmicks to lure viewers. An enjoyable movie can be made without those features! Bravo!
